I enjoyed watching you fix this, you're really skilled and appreciate what you do for the animated building collectors. You're patient, walk through the steps of what you're doing and give us an understanding of how the systems work. I loved the recap after you put it back together and especially the recommendations of adding lights to the gummies on top (something Lemax didn't do)
On the non-animated houses, you can. Lemax used to, not sure if they still do, sell and have external battery packs (4.5vdc, 3xAA batteries), that would plug into the building or accessory. Dept. 56 uses a 3vdc (2xC batteries) for a lot of their accessories and small, lit houses. If the house is animated, the batteries do not have enough amperage to continuously run the house.

Thanks, I have really enjoyed your channel, Bonnie
I just bought one of these at the thrift store and there are multiple pieces loose in there. Can’t wait to try taking it apart!
Good luck, hope you can make it work properly.
awesome job, thank you for sharing.
As usual, enjoyed the video !
Can I use just batteries without some adaptor and cables?
