Fantastic. At 26 mins Andrew makes such a key point: That: "all error stems from the 'bad idea that man is matter (ie material stuff)" So key Mr Klavan!
I have a realist concept as my worldview, and as such, to comment that man "is only material", lacks a metaphysical quality that enhances and as well amplifies life's countless pleasures, creativity and dwells as a source for his altruistic behavior, for which we as a race can and should think of as the cause for such great entities like Philosophy, Sociology, most of, if not all of the Humanities. The spiritually that man is endowed with, and as well, abstract thought brought about such thinking that created an opening for Philosophy that leads to everything else and is one of the direct proponents for these kind of qualities.
For some reason this video popped up in my feed and I thank God! Excellent speech and Q&A. I am going to check out some more of Andrew Klavan's talks. I live in the UK and am not surprised that the UK publisher of your book wanted to cut out references to the Bible. That is the norm here in this very post-Christian society. Islam is untouchable but Christianity is under sustained attack.
The U.K. has been pretty pagan for some time. Most people would object to having yet another Abrahamic religion imposed on them - but unfortunately for some obscure reason the politically correct left have adopted Islam.
About that long, long lasting fight over abortion which I do not want to get into, unlike a virus or a bacteria which inserts its own DNA into the host body, (hence immunity once attacked by a virus which we have overcome: our DNA was modified accordingly), the embryo's DNA remains completely separate from the mother from conception to birth. That's where I, personally, have a moral difficulty. We're dealing with two very different entities, ultimately meant to go their separate ways. Miscarriage is only the evidence that something was inherently defective with the embryo or the fetus and it was not naturally viable. Hence it could not have gone its separate way. Abortion is an entirely different issue... Then again, it is the way I see it and biology confirms it. It gives me a moral compass to live by... for myself.

I know he makes himself a target by opposing the leftist establishment. He is a wordsmith by vocation and avocation. His words are his deeds. Even if you have done better, don't negate your contribution by minimizing those of others. He doesn't get everything right, but he boldly defends the right he sees. Do you imagine you are helping the cause of freedom and faith by seeking to discredit him, however ineptly?

This speech is legitimately amazing.

Wow!! One of the best speeches..ever!! .provides so much hope and advice for young and old.
Schools and universitities should teach the facts and let the students discuss them and NEVER, EVER indoctrinate or forbid free thinking. What those institutions do is deprive students of their capacity to thins kill their open minds.
This religious school considers "free thinking" to be HERESY !!!
Little do you know! Secular humanism, post modernism communism utopia is their religion/church dogma. Only the mindless are allowed the piece of paper for white collar career. Honest man can not sit quiet through daily lies and bigotry against white man, western civilization, a creator, obvious truths. They killed Socrates.

Standing ovation.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Such a really wise guy! I always watch his show when I can and love his humourous opening monologues. There is so much wisdom in this address it is truly a treasure. Thanks to all.
Also many lies...
He is a very articulate, intelligent, wise, and humble man. He is well worth listening to.
As Jordan Peterson would say" always try to tell the truth but never lie." This was a very good presentation, enjoyed it very much thank you.
A fantastic talk , Thank you . I love the little bits of sanity that still appear from time to time :)
Excellent speech and Q&A. Love me some Andrew!
Oh God please bless this man. More power to you Andrew Klavan. What a great man.
BRAVO. Respect Mr Klavan. Thank you. Australia
Thank you for sharing. It is always so refreshing to hear the truth, even if sometimes truth is a hard pill to swallow. I agree man is more than just matter. "In a world gone mad, we cannot be silent." Amen.

Thank you for making this available. Wonderful talk and discussions.
Wow. That was an hour very well spent. I’ve come to learn that the greatest gift or talent to espouse to is intelligence. I’ve alway felt these things but I’ve never been able to articulate them so well. To formulate and order my thoughts so that I could better explain my position when I’m inevitably confronted regarding my stance on politics, religion and morality. I’ve always been on the outside of the popular positions on these topics. Now I know I’m not alone on this and that it’s OK if I can’t explain it as well Mr. Klavan. Always enjoy your show and look forward to many more.
From one old crank to another, Mr Klavan, thank you!
Carol Joy, Right on. Socrates, indeed, said he was a gadfly that keeps flitting around in society. Cheers to old cranks, young cranks and gadflies.
May the LORD of all continue to greatly bless you and protect you and keep your truth flowing especially to our children💓
My Sunday School class is currently reading (book club style) Great Good Thing
Spherituality lucky you. My youth leader says that Jesus was a refugee, so we should accept people across the border.
Edit: FOR ALL THE DENSE INDIVIDUALS WHO CANT READ, I DO *NOT* AGREE WITH HIM. I REPEAT, *I DO NOT AGREE!*
@@THESLlCK From what circumstance was Jesus a refugee? He lived under Roman laws in a Roman empire, he never attempted to escape, he instructed his followers to abide by the laws, and he was ultimately executed at the demand of respected religious leaders within the Roman empire on claims that Jesus had challenged the Roman emperor's authority (but it was really about the pharisees' envy of Jesus and Jesus's apostasy).
I would be interested to know how, specifically, your youth leader has determined Jesus to have been a refugee. I'd imagine that the justification of such a claim would rest in the distortion of the definition of the term "refugee" to fit into the narrative of a contemporary sociopolitical opinion, and that is the kind of perversion of doctrine which drives young people away from faith every single day.
@@THESLlCK Jesus did not go into gentille areas or other cities looking for freebies and to be taken care of. He went, he preached, he healed, delivered/set free the captives. He didn't take anyone home!
Spherituality omg you can't be serious . I obviously don't agree with him, why are you saying this??
Sonia G yeah no kidding. I don't agree with him.
Brilliant articulation of natural truths. TY Mr. Klavan.
The best speech of the 21st century. Are you listening? To paraphrase my friend Larry Elder: is this thing on?
Wow!! God Bless and keep you!! All I ever hear is.... there's nothing I can do about it....that drives me crazy!! I know how you feel because my husband says no one wants to hear any of it. But I just can't let it go, whenever the opportunity arises..my mouth always gets the better of me!!!!
Yep... I tell the truth: NO God(s) ever existed...
Great talk May I suggest the fog of insanity you so aptly describe can be traced back to evil? That there is and always been conflict between good and evil, light and dark?
"Everything costs something, and there's no shame in counting the cost. But there is shame in selling something priceless because you're afraid" Andrew Klavan, 2019.

"A Christian Manifesto" by Francis Schaeffer, brought to my attention at a Pro-life seminar in a church years ago, by a leader in the Pro-life movement in Operation Rescue. "The evil stop at 12 corpses except when possessed by ideology" This man is a brilliant orator.
I just seen this in my feed tonight. I love listening to him. He's a good guy. Has lots of sense. And he's funny.
Brilliant ! The man for our time. Thank you!

The religion industry paid to have this video pop up in your feed...

It gives me a moral compass to live by... for myself.
We get the pamphlet in the mail and...the lecture articles in them are Always clear and very understandable, and very reasonable and rational.
