    As a nail tech imma say you don’t need it get a basic file and then exfoliate once a week. Put lotion on and seal it with an oil. And for really dry skin get cetaphil cracked heels lotion. You shouldn’t try to exfoliate all the skin away in one session it damages your skin barrier and will cause the skin to try to repair making the skin more thick and tough. It didn’t take one day to happen not going to take one day to fix. Be consistent and you’ll have no problems. It’s a cute file though.

      Yeah she's using nothing but marketing bull. A machine being complicated or advanced does not equate to the cost of the product it produces.
      In fact there are even examples of the opposite being true. It is much less complicated to hand cut and polish a gem than it is to create a machine that can do the same.
      Yet people will pay more for something done by hand than from a factory.

Over time it acts like the best sauna massage your feet have ever received. You don’t even need to purchase any fancy expensive lotion specifically for your feet either. filing your feet actually makes the cracking/flaking worse.
    you’re creating microabrasions that continue to heal in the same pattern, creating fine cracks and flaking. If you’re someone who files their feet you may notice no matter what you do ONLY a file works (for a few days then you have to file again). It’s likely that your feet aren’t as dry as it appears, but it’s just the uneven surface of the skin caused by a file. Overtime you could start to develop scar tissue in the area making your skin even harder, dryer, and more uneven.
    just do typical exfoliating like you would do anywhere else on your body (a wet wash cloth, an exfoliating brush/sponge, etc).
    if you feel the need to use something stronger, try a sloughing cream. It’s basically a chemical exfoliant that takes away dead skin cells without scraping/cutting the skin. It’s much safer and shows longer lasting results (because there are no abrasions).
    Always moisturize after exfoliating (unless stated on the directionsotherwise for sloughing products) and after coming out of water. Moisturizers (not the same as lotion) usually work best on damp skin.
    ALSO NEVER(!!!) allow a spa/salon to file /buff your skin or nails with anything that isn’t disposable.If they bring over their files, buffers, pumice stones, etc. and you didn’t see them be opened from a sealed package, request that they open a new package of each in front of you. If they refuse they are not reputable OR clean. It’s unlawful to reuse those things on multiple clients. You can use them in the same client, but they have to be cleaned, disinfected, and stored properly.
    If you’re too nervous to ask for them to open a new package, you can bring your own tools (new and in a package) and ask that they use those on you. The tools they use often round out to less than $5 (a simple nail file, a small nail buffer, and a pumice stone(which i don’t recommend using for the reason stated prior))

      Ha, I came to the comments section only to hurl some abuse at carbs for being the culprit. Wasn’t disappointed. Any high/refined sugar diet or simple carbs can cause excessive cracked heels (along with a plethora of other health issues).
      Also, I don’t see why one should pay $40 for a cheap glass file that’s available anywhere for less than a quarter of the price. They are literally the same. I invested in a crystal nail file from Leighton Denny over 10 years ago. Paid a good chunk of money for it. My daughter uses a cheap one from Temu that cost less than a pound. It it just as good as the designer one.

I used my foot file every day and nothing worked. Then I decided to try my baby’s a and d diaper cream and honestly it works amazing! The skin started forming together again and now they’re smooth. Lots of ecommerce does something similar to this in Indonesia. You inflate your prices and put a "1 day only" 97% off discount, where in reality that remaining 3% is the actual market price for the product. Oh and ofc the discount is up all the time, but you wouldn't know bc you're never gonna browse back

    • @clatterslam
      @clatterslam 4 месяца назад

      Yep, this was prevalent in my country too, but it recently became a requirement for stores to display the lowest price the item was sold at for the last thirty days, so that helps keep the fraudulent discounts at bay. So the sign will say sth like: regular price - 10€, discounted price - 7€, lowest price from the last 30 days - 6€. It helps consumers better gauge whether it actually is a good deal they have to buy right now or if they could perhaps wait because the item is on discount regularly anyway, and sometimes for a lower price than at the moment

    Nail tech here🙋🏻‍♀️. Just go to a nail salon. If you have this mich dried up and dead skin on your feet you probably should treat it at a nail salon, because u might scratch the surface of the foot that doesn't have any problems and that will cause pain and inconvenience . Our feet cary our weight for the entire day. Idk the price ranges in america but i am sure u can get better results in the salon in approximately the same price or even less

    • @berniceboshoff1503
      @berniceboshoff1503 5 месяцев назад +4

      Hello fellow tech! I agree, but if it's really bad it may be a skin infection which requires a chemical/medicinal treatment a lot of the time. I recommend products with urea to help prevent this kind of dry flaking and to prevent infections. Urea also helps to protect the new skin underneath and helps to prevent cracking or severe callousness. People also don't often have full nerve functionality because, like you said, our feet carry our weight every day and shoes are not really designed for foot comfort. People can hurt themselves if they're not careful, and it's always better to refer to a professional or even a doctor (podiatrist specifically for feet) if it's a serious problem.

    This is what I do:
    Hot water with Apple cider or white cleaning vinager SOAK. I leave my feet about 10 minutes or so, I then clean the softened skin with a regular file.
    I apply Castor oil mixed with beef Tallow or coconut oil with Lavander essential oil.
    I use thick Sox to help the oil penetrate all night
    This helps not only to rid of dry skin and have soft feet, but also helps you with inflammation and pain ❤
    Enjoy

    i have a $3 exfoliating towel that does all the same things and works just fine for my feet. you’d get a lot more value in a foot kit with a file, nail trimmer, etc. than buying this. y’all stop wasting your money please, and stop listening to people justifying their awful pricing.

    Why arent people just addressing the issues in getting dry feet and heels in the first place? Its from going barefoot too much and/or wearing incorrectly fitting or wrong-sized shoes. Why treat symptoms when you can solve the problem in the first place and then dont have to spend money or time doing anything??

      Megan it's clear to me that you have never worked a job that requires you to be on your feet, walking, running lifting heavy objects and sweating in heavy safety footwear for 12+ hour shifts 5-7 days per week every week of your life, in all weathers. We can't all be princesses

    • @Megan9689
      @Megan9689 3 месяца назад

      @Earet0 LOL okay. I worked 5 years in a factory on the floor. 12s and then later 8s for 12 days on 2 days off. No sitting except on breaks, constantly standing and walking. Manual labor as well. Before that I was a server for 5 years which equates to non-stop walking and on your feet and NO breaks. But nice try. I'm just repeating what a REGISTERED DERMATOLOGIST has said. Are you a specialist in this field??? She also said to bring extra socks and replace them at break if possible to help keep feet dry and less chance of other things like athletes foot too.

      This file is made of glass, so it can break if you drop it on a hard surface. But if you use it carefully, it should be fine! Plus, it's reusable and won't rust, so it'll last a long time! 🩷

    You can actually purchase a standard/inexpensive foot file and get in the habit of filing BEFORE you shower or bathe. You’ll notice over time how smooth your feet will be just by doing this a couple of times a week followed by your preference of foot cream, lotion, oil, etc.,

    Life Hack: I’m Jamaican. I was taught at a very young age that if you have access to a beach, gather the sea shells especially the rough ones, and use as a foot exfoliator. I thought my grandaddy was mad but he was 100% spot on. It feels very weird at first but it works AMAZING & he was someone who rarely wore shoes, let alone shoes that cover his whole feet so you can imagine the rough skin he would’ve developed. Using seashells kept his feet soft until his passing at 93💔

      @@MeridianOne please do! My grandaddy was from mendeville before migrating to the states & every time he went to the beach he would sit up on the rocks or in the sand and scrub his feet with a seashell & sand! My mommy does it too 😂

    I have a "Balea" file from dm with two sides of different-grain sandpaper, which does the same job nicely. It costs 1.45 €. I admit they don't last forever but they do a good job at keeping my feet smooth and nice (while walking barefoot a lot).

    All you need to do is soak your feet once a week(or even once every 2 weeks) in soapy water (preferably potassium or sodium soap/it's antiseptic). It will soften the hard skin so you could "file" it with even just just your fingernails. And moisturize your feet every day.
    I had problems with hard skin on the sides of my big toes and heels all my life. Not anymore.
