  • This skier has two cuff alignment issues in their ski boots. They find it difficult to get grip at the end of the turn. They find they ski with an a frame. And rolling the inside knee over doesn’t feel natural or right either to fix the A frame. On cat tracks they need to ski with their feet wide apart. They have also skied with shin pain for two years!!!! And get told to try and get more forward!!!! If this sounds like you or like a student you have then please do this boot check or go to your boot fitter to check. It could well be equipment related not a technical issue.
The skiers foot beds are placed inside the shells which is something you can’t see from this video so this is a step you need to do as well.

A lot of great info in this video. For us people who are over 6 ft love to see you do a video to help us flexing and extending. When your tall obviously you can’t see your self but the feeling when you do flex in all reality your hardly bending your knees. I hope you understand what I mean.

This is a problem, which is extremely common for progressing skiers!
I have seen it a lot with friends and experienced the pain myself when I was younger!

Aside from buying different boots do you know of a modification or solution to help with the shin bite you point out at the end of the video? Maybe padding lower on the tongue or lower/inner cuff to get more uniform pressure along the shin? Thanks for your videos.

"you need a boot that angles at the front of the cuff this way to match the shape of your leg" sounds like a solution to me ;) in other words he needs to buy boots that fits his type of legs/feet
