I have done dozens of these conversions , I ALWAYS PAINT the panel FIRST with hucks when ever possible.. Other times I install the panel then take the truck to the paint booth !!.
Short video long video I'll watch them all I really like what you guys do👍
thanks kevin we appreciate that
Enjoyed the video, thanks for posting.
thank you. ive been gone for a few weeks wasnt sure how this one would go over since it wasnt a whole project. Thanks for watching!
Can you put a long hood on a 384?
I did an ultra cab fat boy conversion 2 years ago and had all the interior out already, getting ready to do a 93 standard cab/fat boy conversion and i want to know how much interior do you have to remove, want to paint truck all over next year, add cab lights, remove horns ect, but want to do as little of that removal at this point if possible., thank you
so if im understanding correctly you are just wanting to use the non unibuilt or you want to cut your hole bigger to get more leg room and use the unibuilt conversion kit?
the big hole fat boy kit but my cab is not an ultracab? you can get a kit to convert to the big hole even tho my truck is a non unibilt cab
Cool video! How do you install rivets, Disconnect sleeper to add fat boy conversion?
this truck did not have a bunk it was a stock day cab. but here is a video showing how we took off a bunk on another truck. ruclips.net/video/Qs2gjQ8LavI/видео.html
Great jobs I have 1984 Peterbilt I would like to install one on it and buy it from y’all
we have them on our website or give us a call 7126523834
Doesn’t the overspray get all over the entire truck if you don’t cover it with thin plastic or something?
nope no overspray thats what silicone spray is for. also if your careful their really is no overspray if you watch what you're doing. but the silicone spray protects any areas that could be at risk of over spray
What is the advantage, seems like a 36" sleeper would be more cost affective
have you priced what a 36" sleeper costs compared to the fat boy kit? many farmers want to look right out they're back window to back up instead of having the bunk , also with the short wheel base there would not be room for the wet tank and hoses for the belt trailer. most importantly the customer didnt want a 36" bunk they wanted this.
What does it cost to do this?
Now maybe $5000
Just wondering why you didn’t reinstall the cargo lights?
just didnt use them
Can you guys add a 36 inchs sleeper to a original day cab truck with the same wide window.? Thank's
anything is possible
How much would this kit cost?
this kit is $1,800 if you need the cab shocks its a bit more
Anyone know if you can put a 379 hood and fenders on a 386?
not without major fabrication,
Overspray 🤔?
nope no overspray thats what silicone spray is for.
Muy poco espacio de gana con eso
Whats the point
The point is if your tall or fat it adds around 5 inches further so slide your seat back. In cabs that small 5 inches helps a lot.
I'm not fat. I'm big boned.
WTF !! No plastic on the truck ! overspray being pulled to the front of the truck !! Not even in a dam paint booth !! A real hack job ! What are you guys thinking !!!!!?? This kind of nonsense is what gives small shops a bad a bad rap .. I am a 28 yr certified heavy truck painter and I cannot believe what I just saw .TAKE SOME PRIDE IN YOUR WORK !!!I
As explained on other projects we have posted on small jobs where their could possibly be overspray areas we use a silicone spray we apply to areas where overspray could happen. When paint is cured we simply wash it off. Sorry we do not meet your 28 year certified criteria, we have been building trucks for 20 years with great success and happy customers. That’s great you are able to paint the panel then install the panel after with the hucks or rivets already painted to match without scratching them. We do it this way, works well, never had a complaint and we did 4 of these just last week on top of at least 7-10 a year average for 20 years. But your right I’m sure your way is the only way it can be done with quality. Please tell me how I should wipe my ass also, I want to make sure I’m doing it your way, the correct way, the only correct way there could possibly be.
