l could tell straight away that you were in a bad place, and at 38 seconds in it was a certainty. As requested by your good self, massive sympathy to you and Shaun both. l hope the appointment comes through asap, the sooner the both of you are out of this situation the better. Fingers, toes, and everything else crossed! xx
Thanks Evelyn x
Everything is crossed n hoping you get that worked out quickly!!! Yes we are here if need time off!! But we are also here to listen to the ramblings and explanations!!!! We can always listen!!!!
Best wishes to you both, along with an extra dollop of peace and calm for Shaun. Xx
Colin, I feel your pain. I’m waiting for my third lot of
Spinal surgery and I’m in pain every day. I understand how it gets you down and it really has affected my mental health. Shaun, as my husband John stands by me you stand by Colin; I want to give you a massive hug. I see how it affects my John. Much love to you both xx
Always nice to see one of your 'diary' type vlogs where you chat to us about what's going around in your head. Hopefully it gives you some peace, I know helps some of make sense of our own thoughts too, so thank you for sharing. ❤
Hip pain is excruciating and debilitating, had to wait 2 years for my op, best thing I ever did. Pain relief is immediate, quick recovery. Take care x
I am going through the same thing. I have the cortisone injection scheduled for June 25th, but I have been doing physical therapy, and my hip feels almost normal now, almost all the pain is gone. I am considering canceling the cortisone. Good luck on your journey!
I’ll take it if you don’t need it 😂👍🏻
Awww...just to share a quick story, sort of related to yours, I spent two years being treated for an enlarged prostate that in the end, I did not have. I insisted on a diagnostic procedure to find out if I qualified for a minimally invasive procedure to FIX the problem instead of treating the symptoms. Lo and behold, I had a non-invasive tumor on a string acting like a 'ball valve' on the neck of my bladder. A quick cut and weld without any surgical scars and the little booger was gone. I'm now peeing like a 16yo and inviting my friends, like we did as kids, to see who can pee the highest up a wall!
You never know until you actually look. Ahem.
Brilliant! 🤩
Keep taking . We are listening. I am sitting down with a cup of coffee and biscuits. Always ready to listen. And sometimes we all need to be listened too. That's all. Just to talk and waffle and be listened to.
Keep the chuckle muscles turned up when you can and good luck with the op. Xxx❤
Mmm… Biscuits 🍪 😋
You have the guts to talk about it, not suffering in silence. That is a good thing, not retreating within. That is not a good place to go. I know that from my own personal experience being on autism spectrum myself!🥰
❤️❤️❤️
I know nearly exactly what you’re about with this. Had a bad issue with a shoulder that was thought to be all sorts of stuff, but finally an MRI showed a labral tear in the shoulder socket. Mine would sometimes “flop over”, which would freeze my arm. Took surgery to actually cut part of the cartilage out, and so far, knock wood, I’ve gone 30 years + with zero problems. Just know that there can be light at the end of this tunnel.
Glad you’re still good 👍🏻
Glad you have an answer. Chronic pain is extremely difficult and mentally draining. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Shaun! You need to get going with your woodwork skills and build Colin a new hip. A bit of 4x2 and some fence nails should do the job.
All the best to you both!
I’m on it 🤣
I just had my left hip joint replaced 9 weeks ago. I had been in pain for years. The bone on bone erosion was so bad it had actually worn to top of my femur flat. I totally understand how the chronic pain can limit your activity and suck the ambition to get things done out of your life. My mobility was shot so I had to finally get it fixed. I was back to work after 4 weeks and feel like I got my life back. Hopefully they can sort you out Colin so you can get back to your usual active and productive lifestyle. Cheers from Florida 🌴☀️🌴
Hi Colin been there had hip replacement at Raigmore top team op is ok walking on crutches next day. The little clips they put in were taken out two weeks later by trainee nurse painless . Shaun can stay in free accommodation kyle court two nights and you the night before. Its a top set up. Pain free after op. All the best Rosie and Bob.
Hopefully, I’m nowhere near needing a replacement, just repairing a tear. I’m so glad you’re pain-free now 👍🏻👍🏻
Sending hugs and magical get well pixie dust 🌬️✨✨ here’s to feeling better soon, take care the pair of you xx
Thank you! 🙏🏻 x
I’ve had the injections, they do relieve pain, sometimes for two years in my case, mind the first two days post jab sometimes make the pain worse. The cortisone injected to a raw or irritated nerve can really hurt at first, just so you are aware.
Hope all goes well and it works great, not a cure but some relief. 👍🏼🥰🙋🏼♀️
Ouch. Same with my back when it goes wonky. You just want to stop everything. Glad they figured it out. Is there an Amazon Shawn Support wish list? Like candy, alcohol, epsom salts…. duct tape 😂
Duct tape 😂👍🏻😛
Thanks for sharing. Life is never a straight road...you're riding the bumps like a warrior!
So true x
Colin, my man. Hang in there. I admire your perseverance, honesty, and common sense approach to what is essentially part of our aging process. Yeah, we're not 20 anymore. That's okay, it's your attitude that makes the difference for all things. Shout out to your better half, Shaun, too. He's the person I'd want to be in the kitchen with on any given day making breakfast, lunch, and dinner. How about flank steak, medium rare, with a butter-chive-Parmesan sauce, twice baked potatoes, and a baby arugula salad. Fresh strawberries and crème fraîche for dessert. Cheers, mate!
Could tell by your face this was going to be tough for you. Much love to you both from the Bambers xxxx
Thank you! 🙏🏻 x
I can understand your relief at knowing what exactly is wrong in your hip. It's the NOT knowing that causes worry, not helped by doctors saying "Nothing's wrong" or "It's all in your head". I'm much the same, as an engineer at heart i need to know what's going on 'under the bonnet of my skin' when something goes wrong. You both have my best wishes for the future. (The marmalade is lovely, BTW. I have to take it sparingly as I am just over the borderline into type 2 diabetes, but a couple of helpings a week on toast isn't going to harm me! Anyway, it'll last longer that way!
In the past, I suffered from a very painful disk herniation. Actually seeing the damn thing on an MRI helped me a lot mentally. From that point on there was a plan to correct it. I'm glad you are at that point and I hope you will soon be rid of most of the pain. My sympathies to Shaun :)
♥️
Hope it all gets sorted soon. Waiting is the problem and it's so difficult to be patient.
Blessings. Prayer for healing love from. Queensland Australia. Stay strong. Take care. Hope the specialist can see you asap. And sort the pain. Strength To. Shaun.
Thank you xx
Another from Queensland, wishing you all the best, Colin.
I had a stress fracture in my hip this year and I had my hip replaced. The pain was immediately gone and I was back to normal in a couple of months. Fingers crossed you get relief soon.
Remember, the injection is a cover up and not a fix. Don't get too wild when you feel a little better. If I'm understanding right you will still need some surgery? Sending the best to you both.
The only advice I take is that of my surgeon 😉
Colin, I fully understand the reasons why you have to do certain things a certain way to get things straight in your own head.
Anyway, a plan should be put in place to sort you out.
I know all about sudden happenings that completely change your life.
My suggestion, which may be completely wrong in your case,
You can get your head sorted out first, and the professionals will sort your body out.
And Shaun, Relax, it's all going to be OK!
Trust me, I'm a doctor! We'll gloss over that I'm completely the wrong doctor for this kind of thing.
Good job standing up for your opinion and being right, Colin! I’m so sorry for all your pain. I’m hoping for the best luck for you in your treatment. I’m sending Shaun sympathy, but I can imagine your mental struggle with it all, and will hold you in my thoughts. You deserve some fast relief. It’s always wonderful to hear from you.
Thank you! 🤩 x
knowing what the problem is, is part of the fix 🤞
Exactly! Closer to getting it sorted than I was last week 👍🏻
Hope they manage to sort out the pain quickly, and schedule the op to fix it as soon as possible ! See you tomorrow night on the livechat !
I hope so too!
I love watching all the fun stuff you have shown. But what really makes you worth following is that you share the good times as well as the bad in life. Lots of people get depressed watching videos from people who always seem to have perfect lives and are happy all the time. It makes them feel that they are odd for not always being happy. What are you back in a week or not, I look forward to seeing many more interesting videos from you. Wishing you the very best for both your physical and mental health. Thank you so very much for sharing the real things in your life.
Thanks Carol ♥️👍🏻
Just take care of you Sean and all that you do. ❤️
Glad you have had a diagnosis for your pain and hope you don't have to wait to long before you get treatment, big hug and lots of love for to you both, here's to speedy recovery. Thanks for sharing.
I live with 24hrs chronic pain due to Autoimmune disease and other physical condition and it does get you down .... I filmed yesterday in my pj's and bed cos in too much pain , I would take time off but I worry about my subs , worry about my mental health ..... pain causes fatigue, fatigue and pain causes mental health issues like anxiety , depression and as a fellow autist , it's not good for us ..... I'm like you Colin grit my teeth plough through .... I hope you get your tear soon repaired....... take it easy ... love ya guys ❤
Fingers and toes crossed Colin. Hang in there you can do it. Yes getting on with things helps - look forward to seeing a new vlog - whenever.
I'm sure there's really nothing I can say to make you feel better, but just know that you have a lot of viewers who really treasure you and the entertainment and happiness you bring to people. I myself have truly loved this journey you both have brought us on...from the canals to the croft... and so I'm wishing you a speedy recovery and hope that things for you return to normal.
Fingers crossed. I will be keeping both of you in my thoughts. Best wishes.
You’re bloody amazing, you told me I could use you as home. I’m glad you feel you can use us as your home. Don’t struggle mentally alone. Heck I’ve vented to you quite a few times now. Good news about the injection, I’m guessing that’s something you’re going to go for. Getting a clear idea of completely what is wrong with your hip can help. I’m not telling you to take a break 😂. I’m not giving you sympathy either. Well I am in my own way. Love to you and Shaun as always. See you tomorrow. X
Good, because I don’t do breaks 😂♥️
Hope it gets sorted quickly for you Colin, it’s horrible waiting for procedures to take place. Love to you and Shaun ❤❤❤❤
I hope so too! 🤞🏻
Aww bless you.... we will all have you in our thoughts... xx
Wishing you both all the very best, you are a great team and all us people you don't know wish you the very best!!!
PS - From Colin's message I know from my own experience and the families, if it doesn't feel right what a GP says, please get a second opinion.
Thank you! 🤩 x
Glad you’ve now got the correct diagnosis & a treatment plan in place. Gentle hugs to you both & please give Shaun an extra cuddle tonight from me 🤗💞 No advice Colin, but I hear you & understand 💜 I know too well that being in constant pain & trying to push through is exhausting, so please have an extra hug 🤗 Exciting news about the new apiary 😎 See you tomorrow night, Em 💜x
Thank you! 🙏🏻 x
So frustrating when you’re not listened to by medics, I had 10 years of resistant high blood pressure, GP couldn’t understand why meds weren’t working so inferred over time that it was due to my diet, my alcohol consumption or me not taking my meds, only when my potassium tanked for the third time and I saw a different doctor was I referred to nephrology and started on the long diagnosis to my adrenal issues, one gland removed but 6 months later other one joined the party so meds for life now. Quite understand the mental health effects, here’s hoping for a swift resolution for you x
Thanks Lindsay. I made the mistake three years ago of telling my GP I had anxiety. They use that as the first diagnosis for everything! x
Fingers are crossed for you.....and yes....i will give your better half all the sympathy!!! Easy for me to say....but don't let it stop you!
Hehe, thanks x
I need a new knee but been told I'm too young lol and need to go back in 15 yes lol... And yeah it does effect your mental health when your in pain... I know how you feel
I have had exactly that same cortisone injection done with ultrasound in my hip, and my knee. They said it would take up to a week to work. It was virtually instantaneous! I can now sleep for more than 20 minutes at a time! Push like mad to get this done before the wedding. It only takes a couple of minutes, and it’s unpleasant more than painful. Good luck…..
Thank you! 🤩 x
It's a bugger getting old! I'm 58 this year and although I still feel that I can do the same work I was doing 20 years ago, my body says, " Nope, not happening.
😂
Best wishes with your hip problem, hope all goes well ❤
Fingers crossed!
Hi Colin. I'm in the same position as you, lots of pain and don't know what's to be done about it yet. Trying to keep going but sometimes it's hard. Get your treatment and the future will be busy. Thinking about you both.
Thanks Sonia. Sending love x
Stop being so hard on yourself, there is nothing worse than being in constant pain. Hopefully it will be over soon.
Big hugs to you both.❤❤❤
I’m not being hard on myself 😂 I’m being realistic 👍🏻
Best wishes. And hope they can sort it out now they know what it is
A friend just told me that she’s had exactly the injection you’ve described and it has been totally successful at eliminating the pain! 🤞you’ll be seen VERY soon 💕🌿
Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻
Found out Wednesday I need double full hip replacement. Not sure if I will do 1 at a time or not. :( 57 you would think I would get the refund for my natural ones.
😂
If your tear is like my meniscus tear it can be done with a scope and heals quick. sending good vibes
That’s the plan x
Hip surgery is an easier recovery than the knee surgery so you have that to be grateful for. Poor Shaun. Thanks for the update. ❤ Sounds like you got this.
Thanks Carol 👍🏻♥️
It's good to know what it is, for you specially, we just miss you guys so now and then but that's ok. Have a good weekend!
Thanks, you too x
That’s one of things I love about your vlogs - you are so open and honest. Really hope you get an appointment soon. I have fingers and toes crossed. Lots of love to you and Shaun. ❤
I hope so too!
Sorry you are going through so much and all right before the wedding. I pray everything goes well, and you will be out of pain before your wedding. Thanks for sharing with us. Hugs to Sean too because it IS always worse on the partner.
I hope so too!
Ultra sound guided injections are brilliant. I have had one in my arthritic finger joint and also one in the shoulder. It should help a lot with the pain .
Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
My wife had a lot of groin pain. She saw someone else and it turned out to be her hip joint was deteriorated. Lots of terrible pain. Finally had her joint replaced and she was out of pain and right as rain in just a few weeks. Good luck with your condition and hopefully they get it taken care of.
Yes, I had an arthritic hip and lots of pain, had a cortisone injection but it only worked for about a month. Went and had a hip replacement and like your wife I was as right as rain after 3 weeks. Wish I had not have waited so long.
Thank you for the update, you two take care of yourselves. Wishing you well buddy.
Colin I am so sorry for all of your medical misdirection and pain. You and Shaun are in my good thoughts. You give all of us so much hopefully all of the prayers and good thoughts will help you both
I completely understand how the glitches that life throws at you can impact and shut things down. As such an active person I'm sure this is especially difficult for you, I hope you won't have to wait too long for the surgery so that you can get back on the mend. Take good care, 💜
Sending virtual hugs to both of you. We’re all here if you need to chat/vent.
Thank you! 🤩 x
Ouch! Glad you know what it is now and that it can be treated. Thanks for letting us know. Much love to you both
Our pleasure!
stay strong Colin, and take care.
Thank you! 🙏🏻 x
Good luck! Glad they figured out what was wrong and its fixable. Here's to a pain free wedding!
Fingers crossed!
Chronic pain really can get into your head! Hope all goes well❤
Hope so x
Hip hip hurray!!! (sorry, all the useful comments were already taken)
🤞 Sending positive vibes! 💕
Thanks Kathy x
Fingers firmly crossed !
I tried with my toes as well, but it HURT !
I was always told, that if something is not working out for you, then DO SOMETHING ELSE, for a while !
Lots of LOVE to you and Shaun !
Stay safe !
Stu xx
Love and hugs! Hope you can get relief sooner rather than later!
Me too! x
The good news is that they now know what it is and the surgery will fix it. Keep thinking positive pal and If you need to talk about anything, I’m only a message away. Take care and stay safe xx
Cheers Alice x
@@FoxesAfloat Thanks Colon or Sea N 😅
In my life, I have learned...The younger you are the faster you heal. Putting off surgery for a year or two means you will take longer to return to your normal. Much luck to you.
Sending hugs, to both of you. I know that being in pain can have an effect mental health. Especially long term pain. Hope the date of the op comes through soon. ❤
Me too! Got to see the consultant first, and that could be a few weeks.
I am so glad the doctor found the reason for the pain you have been having. Take care.
I may not be on every blog but you both should now by now the non rev coles cares and worries about the both of you
“Non rev Coles” 👍🏻😂♥️
Take care of yourself. I know how your mental health takes a huge kick in the arse. Won't share but the past 2 years for me have been awful so know what you're talking about. Much love to you and Shaun x ❤🇬🇧🇺🇲
Thank you. You are missed when you skip an episode. Hugs to both! Positive thoughts sent your way. Take care of you. We love you. XOXOXO
You're the best!
Thanks for the update Collin.
Any time!
Sorry to hear your hip is screwing with ya, Colin! You're doing everything correctly, sitting when you hurt and getting off your butt when you feel up to it. Shaun, when Colin becomes a pain in your a$$, put him in time-out in the beehive workshop! Love you guys!🤗
I actually enjoy watching you make bee hives, but that's just me. Hip surgery is no fun but on the bright side, you'll finally be able to get back to your old self. Pun intended.
Beehive build coming soon 😉
Speedy recovery, Collin😊
Thank you! 🤩 x
I understand when motivation hinders us. Our lives can fluctuate so much. Go with the flow, accept how you feel, generally things turn out ok. Love your honesty. X
Thank you! 🤩 x
Will keep my fingers crossed and throw up a few prayers to the big guy upstairs that you will
be okay and feeling better with no pain soon........XXX
I'm sorry to hear about your hip and how long you've been dealing with it, but glad you know what the issue is and can get it fixed. For me the not knowing is the worst. once I know what's up I just want if fixed. I hope that will be soon for you both. Thanks for the up date I do worry when I don't see you for a bit. Good luck, can't wait to see the new bee sight. Hugs
Good Luck with the new bee location.
Thanks Wendy 👍🏻
Hang in there, Colin. Things are moving in the right direction. Lots of people from all over care about you. Thank you for filling us in. Best wishes for improvement physically and mentally.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Glad everythings looking up! Thanks for the update, see you saturday!
I knew something was wrong. Please take care of yourselves that is the main thing. I hope you get the appointment through asap sending you big hugs and lots of love ❤️ ❤
Thank you! 🤩 x
Cheers for the update Colin, fingers crossed you don't have too long await for an appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon. At least you now know what the problem is and more importantly what it isn't and that has be be a help for your mental health not worrying about what it might have been. 👍.
Prayers & best wishes for healing for Colin, comfort for Shaun, & calm for you both! 💐💗👍
Thank you 🙏🏻
Another great video has always Colin Shaun and Otis and Ollie
I know all about long term pain...it just saps the joy out of everything. Crossing my fingers that you get this sorted as soon as possible.
Yeah, it's not good xxx
Take care Colin. Hope your ok and get it sorted soon ❤
I hope so too x
I so appreciate your honesty and willingness to share those tough parts of what's going on in your life. This touches such a deep part of my own experience and makes me realize the importance of sharing, vs keeping everything locked inside. Thanks for being you and the lessons I learn from that.
Thank you so much!
Oh, man! I am sorry you're going through that, Big hugs to you both!
Thank you 🙏🏻
The best outcome in so many ways of an unknown issue is to finally find the answer. Been there, done that! Best wishes for your recovery process.
Thank you!
I hear you mate!!! I’m getting ready for a new knee on the 24th! 😜. I was very lucky, saw my surgeon May 1st, op on the June 24th. Less then 2 month wait😳. Was expecting 6-12 months if not more, so that was a bit of a shock. Will wish you all the luck 🍀 on getting things fixed! 🤞for myself 😉… cheers 🍻
Good luck!!
The injections should really help in the meantime
Hopefully! 🤞🏻
I hope your doctors can get you patched up soon! Wishing both of you well with much buzzing of happy bees.
I hope so too!
Howdy Colin & Shawn!! It's hell getting older isn't it?!?! Shawn's knee, cancer & now your hip. I really wish you both all the best positive energy that the universe can give!! I know all to well how debilitating it is to have injuries that take you out of commission. My entire lower back is damaged from L2 to S1. There are a lot of day that I can barely walk. Enough about me, I wish you both the very best!! Big bear hugs from Kenny in Ohio USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to hear that, Kenny x
Wow! I am going thru the same thing with my hip! Getting ready to have an MRI on my hip to see if that is the problem! When I first hurt the first dr said I needed a hip replacement! I have not even had any pain until it started in November. I will be following you to see what happens and please know we all hope you get straightened out!
Good luck!!
