We boondocked at the old post office one night and then out by the hatchery. We did one of the RV parks in town the first night. As much as you liked Valdez, we loved Juneau. We thought it was like being in a movie set of Alaska. Mountains, cruise ships, great downtown, eagles, glaciers and we couldn't get enough of the float planes comings and goings.
I agree. Having watched several RV to Alaska channels, I've realized that many come up here as a checkbox moreso than actually wanting to visit the state. It's really sad because it comes across in their videos that they don't really want to be here and they miss A LOT of small and big things because they are rushing between destinations with 8 hour driving days which no local would do except for an emergency.
Bear paw looks to be a very nice RV Park! We didnt stay there but the adult only park looked out at the boats coming in going! The Stan Stevens was a very nice tour....enough room to roam around and not be uncomfortable with the crowd or rain.
Loved the drone shot of Carrie and Roodle! ...Loved the waterfalls and lush greens in the sunlight...great video and music. I will google Valdez and check it out. Happy Anniversary!!
Happy Anniversary you two!! What a memorable one!! 🎉🥂 I wonder, how long can you be overcome in awe and wonder at such inconceivable scenery before getting accustomed to it? Safe travels!! 🥰🌿♥️
GREAT video capture of the rainbow at Bridal Veil Falls! Love that! That spot from the night before was rather epic as well, despite being right on the road. Those views though... $4 for a 12 minute shower? That's awesome! Thanks for sharing this "hidden" gem as well. A dollar for 12 minutes of drying time isn't too horrible, especially if you're taking a shower while doing your laundry (plus, it IS Alaska). I'm actually pretty impressed with those prices compared to many others I've seen (especially that shower). Too bad about your tour but this other tour was certainly spectacular! What an exceptional locale! Happy belated Anniversary, Carrie & Dave! What a treat to spend it there.
the tour was amazing and the stan stevens boat was extremely comfortable! We got two free nights stay due to the original tour being cancelled so it all worked out for the best!
What a wonderful place to celebrate your Anniversary, Dave and Carrie! The views in this video were all just incredible; literally take your breath away. When you were taking the cruise at the 23:54 mark as you were traveling by the small iceberg, it looked like a woman sitting in the water with a bonnet on her head. I imagine people come from all over to see Valdez, and it certainly didn't disappoint - and we are seeing it second hand. Thanks so much for sharing and hope you're all well. Safe travels.
Yes, Valdez is a beautiful city to visit in the summer and winter. However, living isolated for a full winter is a different story from friends who have lived there. But to each their own. Great visual storytelling. If you stay up long enough during the Summer Solstice you'll see the sun barely dip below the horizon and come back up again around 3:30am. Happy Anniversary!
Wow! Fantastic scenery with the falls, the water, glaciers, mountains, eagles. I've heard people talk about Valdez, but no one has really said how beautiful it is. Since I'm a skier, I know its a very popular ski destination, especially for the expert big mountain skiers who go with helis!
Absolutly awesome, gorgeous, fabulous...not enough words to describe this wonderful video and place you are at. You do an amazing job Carrie and Dave. It was breathtaking. We can understand why you loved it so much. Thank you soooo much for sharing. Happy Anniversary !! Happy safe trails. Looking forward to the next one, although this is hard to béat 😘 Regards from Québec Canada. ❤️
Wow, absolutely beautiful. It takes your breathe away. What a memorable place to spend your Anniversary! 🍾🥂 Happy Anniversary Carrie and Dave. Safe Travels.
I used to have a real high functioning dog years ago... loved throw and retrieve. And every single time I did a fake throw, the next throw resulted in a.. haha, now you got to chase me. I guess when it came to fetch, he was playing with me, not the other way around. Love the RoodleMan.
Dave stayed with Roodle. Dave doesnt like being in enclosed areas with lots of people.... (the tour boat). Dave has a glacier tour coming up next week when I stay with Roodle. Town was very dog friendly!
We were in Valdez about 20 years ago in our RV 0:01 and loved it too! We visited the fish hatchery and noted the pipeline coming down above us and people in a view security bldg watching. Lol. We all waved! Very cool. If I remember right, the Alaska ferry comes in here too so really wouldn't be that cut off in winter if you needed to get out! We enjoy all your videos and they bring back lots of memories for us !! We're in our 80s.
The hatchery was not open when we were there.... I am a bit jealous I didn't get to see the seals and bears. We almost took the ferry to Whittier, but Dave really wanted to walk on the Matanuska Glacier..... that video is coming up next Saturday! The footage the boys captured on the glacier walk is incredible.
Yes! more epic adventures but this time we are chasing glaciers instead of icebergs. Newfoundland felt much more remote. Alaska is HUGE but very few roads so everyone seems to be on the same loop
OK guys, you're having far too much fun. If you are going to Alaska, and I'm hoping to next summer, I think it's a really good idea to travel with at least one other rig, but I'm not sure I'd like a tour. Keep the good stuff coming and give Roodle a treat and a pat on the head for me.
Driving to alaska is a journey in itself! once you get to alaska one would be fine by themselves unless you drove the dalton or dempster highway! Although alaska is a HUGE state....much of it is not reachable by car.
Beautiful you two in Alaska❤ thank you for the memories, 2009 with my best friend. Put the truck on the ferry to go home in Skagway to Bellingham, affordable then…….
I wish we had endless money to ferry to all the destinations. Roodle doesnt like the ferry so we are happy to drive with most of the time....only short ferry trips
This has been so cool seeing Alaska through you guys' eyes. The wildlife and scenery is just as magical as we dreamed it would be. That otter photo was so flipping cute too. You got two audible "awes" on that one. 😂 Thanks for wowing us you guys.
I definitely see me up in Alaska for a few months. It looks awesome. Probably do a night or two in a campground in town if a cheap one is available. Cool to see the whales 🐳 too 👍🏼
Hi there! We were in Valdez two times (so far) this summer...we loved it SO much! It's by far my favorite drive and destination while in Alaska. The mountains and waterfalls in this area are fantastic. The views are "other worldly" and you are doing a great job... Capturing it on film! But ... one should see it in person if they have the opportunity. No adjectives can describe Alaska. You just have to see it! ❤ We didn't take a cruise or fish ...but we walked the town and had lunch at one of the restaurants. Very cute town. We stayed several nights at the same spot where you were in Thompson Pass. I also did the same walk/hike that Carrie did and realized quickly how out of shape I was 😂. But it "looked like" an easy walk! We got water for free at Valdez RV park. Also...we found another lot to park in ... Not far from where you were ( because one of us was sick for a week). What a great place to rest for a week! Just a mention too... There was Verizon service at Thompson pass and a mile (or 2) down the road (away from town\Thompson pass). I've been surprised by how decent cell service has been! Last, there is also a grocery store (I think safeway) in town for groceries. We have found Fred Meyer in a few towns too such as Anchorage and Soldotna. Also "little bear" grocery stores (can't remember the exact name) are around too but I didn't see one in Valdez.
It's beautiful my hubby and I are at odds over Alaska too cold for me lol,we are making that hard jump this weekend ,from stick and brick to cargo van, we decided to finish up our build on the road ,mostly cosmetic at this point I think Dave and my hubby Lance need to talk lol Lance thinks we need 4000 watts of solar I'm trying to tell him 400 would be fine but we have 3 ways to power shore power genie and solar still working solar out we have one 200watt now. We will see he's still working till trailer is payed off in dec
+@user-oi8si6wl8o the more solar the better! We have 500 watts of solar and if we had room we would have more! If you have one 200 watt solar panel….. realistically you will never get the full 200 watts and if it is cloudy it will be even less. We have 400 amh of batteries and 500 watts of solar panels. We still need to conserve energy ESPECIALLY if it is cloudy and we are running our Starlink. We would be happy to arrange a phone call…. There are so many variables that we would need to know about your build before we could give you any real insight. Let us know…. Please email us at oneadvantureatatime@yahoo.com if you are interested in arranging a phone call.
Can you run 2 drones at the same time on the same frequency? In other words someone is flying their drone at the same time you are. What happens? Awesome video!
We have had several instances where someone else is flying their drone at the same time. It doesn't see to affect the drones at all. One time there were 4 or 5 drones flying.... at this point you worry about running into each other
Carrie Dave and Roodle your videos are outstanding your music selection is amazing. Thank y’all so very much.
I think this is my favorite video so far. Just beautiful. Happy anniversary 🎉
We boondocked at the old post office one night and then out by the hatchery. We did one of the RV parks in town the first night.

+@grayandgrumpy that sounds amazing! We just cannot do the ferry with Roodle 🐕 it's too hard on him! Next time though we will add Juneau to our list.
We were in Valdez in the early 90s. Everyone in the town spoke with a southern accent because of the oil up there. It is a beautiful place!
I've seen other videos of Valdez but NO ONE else stopped by those waterfalls!!! OMG! And what a great cruise! Happy anniversary!
The entire drive is AMAZING!!! I think they call that keystone canyon!
I agree. Having watched several RV to Alaska channels, I've realized that many come up here as a checkbox moreso than actually wanting to visit the state. Just added Valdez to our Alaska trip if go next year. The waterfalls are beautiful! As you know, we love following your adVANtures, safe travels!
After 40k subs 100k comes easy... good luck U guys.
Happy Anniversary. Safe travels
Thank you!
What a dream to travel with friends that spectacular landscape! Dream to do that too, being in Europe…. Long way to go😂
You can do it!
Happy Anniversary you two!! What a memorable one!! 🎉🥂
I wonder, how long can you be overcome in awe and wonder at such inconceivable scenery before getting accustomed to it?

Valdez truly is a destination location! Since we have been in alaska we have heard several locals talk about how special Valdez is!
Thanks for the beautiful scenery. The cruise looked lovely. What did you do with Roodel when you were on the cruise?
Bubble feeding is so cool, I have never saw that in person, great experience.
It really is!

We could not get over the Beauty!!!
@@oneadVANtureatatime So happy for you to finally make it to Alaska!
We felt the same way about Valdez! We loved it! It’s really a cool little place.
There is so much to see! It can be overwheming but if you have 2 months you can put a big dent in the list.

Safe Travels.
Such an awesome memory to have recorded in video format! Thanks for coming along!

Love the RoodleMan.
I often wonder who is training who?
Happy Anniversary!
Valdez definitely didn't disappoint. Did yall board Roodle or leave him in the Storm Trooper? Was the town dog friendly? Happy Trails 🐕
Dave stayed with Roodle. Dave doesnt like being in enclosed areas with lots of people.... (the tour boat). Dave has a glacier tour coming up next week when I stay with Roodle. Town was very dog friendly!

Pretty video guys. I am so glad you share this every Saturday. Loved the whale shots. Pet Roodle for us.
Your Newfoundland trip was epic but I think you’re having an even better time. Thanks for taking us along.

Fabulous!!!
Amazing video... beautiful Alaska
The summer-solstice lawn-dart Olympics. LOL. 😂 Happy belated anniversary, guys! Such a beautiful place to celebrate. 🤗
Thanks so much! 😊we had to retire the lawn darts and upgrade to Cornhole 😂😂
I think that is the most beautiful waterfalls ever. It's right on the road - how nice for handicap people.
It was so cool! There were 4 or 5 right in a row and then the other one right around the corner. Nice big pull offs to get off the highway to view.
Beautiful places. Great video.
Did you see any wild rabbits in downtown? We were in Valdes 10 years ago and saw over 100 of them... I love your Alaska trip.❤❤❤
We did see some rabbits on our walk..... I forgot about that!
Those eagle shots were magnificent!
Many thanks! i spent hours there just watching them. I LOVE EAGLES
We took the ferry from Valdez to Whittier, gorgeous❤
We almost did that!

This is the best video I have seen on utube!!!❤❤
Thank you!
Great video. Thank you. Be safe.
Thanks, will do!
Epic epic and epic!!
AGREED!!!!
Wow crazy beautiful..We have a road with Bridal Vail fall view also in Washington State off Hwy 2 Stevens Pass Hwy the falls are just outside Index
Bridal Vail Falls seems to be a popular name! We have seen a few along our journey,
