NF isn’t really a punch line rapper He is a story teller which is what I prefer. Not that he can’t do that but when u listen to his interviews he is much more interested in talking about life. One the reason’s Nate is my Goat (He is also incredibly talented and versatile) He is also very conscious about not sounding like everyone else.
To me, so much of the similarity to Em comes from his pronunciations. Both are from Michigan… and Nate doesn’t deny the influence that Em had on his childhood… “mama bought me 8-mile at the movie store” in “Know”
NF only has 1 or 2 songs I don’t care for out of all his music.. this is one of them. I wanna say this made Madden or something like that which would work better for..
I have heard that NF himself doesn’t like this song and he says it is his worst one. A couple clever bars and good for the gym playlist. Other than that, as close to a miss as he gets

I agree. Not a bad song but for Nate’s catalog this one is towards the bottom for me.
