Hey man! Don’t know if you know. I follow you quite a bit brother ! I’m 37, Father of beautiful twin daughters,just a little bit older than you. Take care of your body. I have thrashed mine through welding bridges. Only boarded for a passion. Since bridge welding pretty much dies in the winter, my season pass to Sugar and Beech here in NC pretty much are free as often as we go! Now three anchors in my shoulder, frkn L4 and L5 discectomy, I still rip man. Not park like you though!! But if you want to go straight to the top and ride back country gnarly, I’m your man!! Europe round two? We both have two more peaks at Solden to hit. Boarders only? Like you do summer camp. Do a Euroboard trip! I know I’m down, and my crew. 5, not many, but still. All of them have passports, and could make the funds happen. Let’s plan for a year out. I bet we have at least 11!! Spinal tap throwback to my back and the movie.

How do you remove dirt from the base of your snowboard without foing to ski service for polishing? Like, is there a way to remove it at home before it gets deep inside the base? Using ski wax remover after every riding day?
Probably worth noting that there are two different kinds of cleaning product now in use. "Base cleaner", which is basically a naptha or mineral spirit, and "wax remover" which is typically a citrus-based degreaser. The difference between them is that the former can often remove dirt and pollen from the surface without entirely drying the base out, while the latter pretty much takes everything off and makes you to start over from scratch. Base cleaner is especially useful if your board is well waxed such that the gunk doesn't get all the way into the base, and you can clean it by wiping with a mild solvent.
I would say to try to use a base cleaner and then re-wax nightly, and only use wax remover when you really need it. But then again I'm an ex-ski racer who typically works with multi-layer wax setups, so "starting over" is a big hassle.
Also fluoro waxes were a lot more oleophobic (and therefore more dirt-resistant) than anything currently on the market. If you hypothetically still had some of that it would probably help quite a bit.
