I enjoyed your comments. I agree with your opinions thoroughly. 1) "Rage-bait videos". These are infuriating, yet also comical. I remember watching them loudly proclaiming that Dr Who, as a series, was about to die back in 2017; confidently predicting that it would last no further beyond Series 11. Then confidently proclaiming the same things in 2019. Then again in 2021. RTD and Tenant came back, which I naively assumed would make the naysayers happier - but,no; the series is perpetually about to die....despite getting a huge investment from Disney of £100m - no matter. It will apparently always be on its last legs. Still - it gets these people lots of hits on RUclips. For what it's worth, a part of Who fandom has always been toxic. Back in the 80s, there was a fanzine which kept proclaiming the same thing - until the show was cancelled; at which point it despaired that the show had died! 2). RTD doing nuance! 😂. His stories have energy and creativity; but his social messaging hits like a painful sledgehammer at times. However...he is a huge fan; and he knows what he's doing. 3). Give Classic Who a try. Not all of it, obviously; but give some of its more popular stories a go - I think you'll find them fascinating.

So the declining viewing figures aren't significant then? It's not the WOKE (I'm a Buffy fan and that was the mother of all WOKE) it's the non Sci Fi writing and presentation. If you think a super being would fluff a catch, but a Tardis can be cloned by a Toon hammer, then all power to you. But I think I'll leave you to it and go back to watching Sci Fi.
@@martynnotman3467 In the 1960s original the companions play a game where the opponent Cyril (a psychotic schoolboy robot) both uses loaded dice to win the race and booby traps the stepping stones they are crossing to get to safety (I know, I watched it back then). The Doctor gets to use his non human abilities so the Toymaker could use his. The classic solution is for the Doctor(s) to win with guile (in the 60s he did), but no, they just get lucky. On a related note, what game did the UNIT minions lose so that the Toymaker was entitled to slaughter them? In the original the companions had a dance to copy to traverse a room and if they bumped into another couple they would die. Here there is no game and the Toymaker acts out of caprice or vanity. This is lazy writing and it eventually devolves into a Toon with no rules. Even Roger Rabbit only had super powers if he was being funny. Someone told me a perfect anology, Bi-Generation is like a snake who shead his skin but the skin is alive. The Doctor's body still regenerated, becoming 15, but his old skin, 14, stayed alive. Also, technically speaking, that's not technically the first time the Doctor bi-generated, we just havent seen it happened yet, but Bi-Generation is implied to be how the Valeyard came to be
It's not the WOKE (I'm a Buffy fan and that was the mother of all WOKE) it's the non Sci Fi writing and presentation. If you think a super being would fluff a catch, but a Tardis can be cloned by a Toon hammer, then all power to you. But I think I'll leave you to it and go back to watching Sci Fi.
The Toymaker cannot cheat. He HAS to play by the rules and in a game of ball that means human reactions and skill.
They could be in the Land of Fiction from The Mind Robber I suppose.
Here's hoping.
