      None. It's just a worse chest by default, and a block that's only adding value on smp can go key itself for all I care.

    Vaults will also solve the problem of future minecraft updates adding items to the vault loot tables. Instead of having to delete chunks, the server operator would only need a world edit utility capable of clearing the user id's from all the vaults and they would again be able to provide these new items in the loot tables..

      ​@@metziya That only becomes an issue if you are years-worth of committed to that single world, and most players aren't like that.
      Vaults reduces the amount of chunks you *NEED* (not just want) to load by a lot in Multiplayer.
      Consider this; 10 Players would need explore the whole 3000x3000 Blocks (or probably even more) to get approximately 10 Elytras, but with Vaults; they only have to find a SINGLE End City to provide for each and every one of them.
      The difference here is night and day.

    Honestly, if vaults could reset after certain time, allow a single player to loot it multiple times, but they have to find the key over again, would make it feel more like an open world rpg, where you can do boss battles over again to get a key for more loot. If it takes actual tjme, then it could be balanced to not be too cheesy. This may not feel very Minecrafty but I think it would be so cool if each time I took out a patrol captain, I could use his key at the nearest on a shipwreck vault, and if you kill a zombie villager, you may loot a “city key” to open a vault in Warden territory.

      @@warlygames3871 they could tweak the loot pools to where first unlock gets good stuff and every after gets a smaller pool. I know they’ll likely never do something like this, but I like concept of making smaller worlds more viable.

      That is technically possible (if u play on nintendo)
      Just create a mew account, open the vault on that account, hand over the loot to your friend or store it in a chest, delete the account, create a new one and so on...

      no that would not work since they store the player UID not the player name so even if you change your name you would still have the same player ID@@Yasser-444

    The problem is that there's no motivation to come back, the whole point of the trial chambers. You can't just think about multi-player servers. The way it is now is more like reality. Unless you add a LONG cool-down time (say 50 in-game days), so people can come back, you'd just find one, get your stuff, & mow it down for resources. You want people to preserve them, then you have to motivate players, especially in single-player worlds, to WANT to keep them standing.

    I think the vault is a great idea, especially for multiplayer worlds and servers. In my realm I'm always the first person to grab anything, and I do feel bad because it takes away a lot of incentive for others to come along. I'm all for everybody getting their fair share of the goodies.

    A good idea could be that the vault could have a timer and the more a player opens it the slightly worse loot you get or the loot starts of bad then slowly gets better. The player could only open it a certain amount of time

    ok so the vault gives you is like a loot chest but works once for everyone, except to be able to get into it you have to defeat a trial spawner, witch already does essentially the same thing except it works infinitely. not to mention once someone finds a triple chamber they will likely claim it to get the infinite loot farm so other people wouldn't be able to use it anyway. if they add it to other structures you still need to somehow get a key. You can't break them to use as storage elsewhere. you don't get the same feeling of achievement and customization because 1 you don't get to see what you can take the game just spits them out essentially forcing you to pick them up because otherwise, you let valuable items that someone else might want despawn which also plays into the inventory management problem and 2 it doesn't have the wow facture that finding a chest does where you open it and see all the loot, instead its some loot bobing up and down on a block making it harder to see in the first place. I love the trile spawner It gives a nice minigame vibe and also teaches you that slaying mobs can be fun but the vault just doesn't do that. I'm aware you can also get the keys from pots but then there's no work for your reward. From a lore standpoint, it really wouldn't make sense to give the keys to the wandering traders but that's not as important necessarily. if you already fave to go through the trile spawners to get to the vault that does the same thing but only once it really doesn't seem worth it. i think if Minecraft wance to salve this problem it would be better to do what a lot of mods already do which is to make loot chests unique for each player or just not add the vault and make the trile spawners more popular to do the same thing (yes I seethe problem with that making higher tear loot easier to get, its not a perfect plan).also in single player a vault just becomes a loot chest that takes forever to break.
    sorry for the essay 😅 i really like silent's videos the vault just seems like a bad idea to me and i think it could be implemented better or not at all...

      @metziya Unfortunately, there's a HUGE focus on multi-player, right now, in the gaming industry. Single players are being given sub-par to piss-poor experiences because they either don't have access to excellent internet, can't find large swaths of time to play with friends or don't like gaming with strangers. Being in the latter two has ruined a lot of gaming for me since the Pokémon games first came out.
      @@edwardallenthree No, because you only get one shot, so you get a weak experience (being only one person to raid it) AND so reason not to mow down the structure afterwards. Chances are that the loot tables will be based on the difficulty of the raid (which is affected by how many players join), so that's a huge risk of stealing a fun experience for single-players. I don't like having to rely on the "honor" of random people & I don't have endless hours to arrange times with real friends. Personally, I thinks this is just Mojang trying to push things like their Realms on Bedrock.

      @@Dropshot06 No??? It's essentially a chest with extra steps. On a singleplayer world you can still get the loot, you just can't farm it. JUST LIKE CHESTS

      It's equal for both sides if not better for single players because the structures won't be destroyed by griefers

    Structure Themed Vaults and Keys are the next step to this. My idea here is that you need to craft them. To do this, You use a Trial Key and specific blocks to create a Key Template. Then use the Key Template on the Smithing Table with the Trial Key as the base ingredient and use a specific block with it to create a "Specific" Key to use on the vaults in specific structures.

    I would absolutely love this in more structures, exploring is a really fun a big part of the game and most times gets spoiled by the first to get there which then becomes a race for chests and defeats the whole engagement and exploration of structures. Hoping they continue with this idea

    The vault block is a good idea and it can tie in with many other minecraft features more specifically the biomes so each biome with structure could have their own biome themed trial room or there can be different trial rooms for the different dimensions meaning there can be an end update with new mobs for the trial room and also there will be another structure in the vast wasteland of the end

    They could make a switch in the creation menu and you could switch it on or off before creation and loot chests still spawn but if on it spawns the vaults, personlly i think it would be good for solo players.

    Yes when it comes to the vault most likely things in Minecraft or change one thing that I could see happening is map creators or map makers using the vault block as kind of a trial thing when you face off against 1 V style thing with entities or mob you’ll be able to be rewarded with the key and then the key will go into the vault and you’ll get a specific loot that will help you further on in the journey as well as just online multiplayer servers will be able to be looked at again and looted. One thing I think Mojang should do is once they do this update to add all of it when it comes to other structures to getting the ability to have a general only the same thing they should added to existing structures that have already been explored so kind of like hell 1.19 did with adding all of the deep slate under old worlds where you don’t have to physically explore no more chunks I think they should add to existing structures. (The vault block)

    If this function does come to other structures, I honestly don’t mind attempting to farm the ‘possible’ new keys for their ‘possible’ loot tables and if the end has one for a ‘chance’ to get Elytra’s then that’d be interesting since I’ve raided 128 (probably more then that) ships to getting Elytra’s…it took days to do IMO

    In think you can do so much cool server stuff with changin the properties of the block for example a cool in game loot chest or something i think mojang is doing great with implementing completely new features and pushing their old set “vanilla” boundaries

    I think that for single player worlds every time you defeat a trial the vault will refresh so its still a challenge but not limited to one use

    The problem isn't just about the loot chest, but the encounter as a whole.
    Where would be the fun in turning up to a woodland mansion, bastion, or nether fortress already void of enemies, and with doors and corridors all blocked off. It's not just the loot that needs to be reset, but the whole encounter.

    I don't dislike the idea of everyone getting a chance to get rare loot.
    But I don't like the idea of ending up with a stack of useless keys.
    They need to make it so either Vaults can give super rare loot for each player's first key
    and more common drops for keys after that,
    Or they have to come up with another use for keys on top of this one.

      you wont get that many keys. you only get them from defeating the trial spawners. theres an even-ish amount of spawners to vaults

    Stone chest, black Pots and deepslate vaults could all be in ancient cities! Also barrels feel underused. Why aren't there shulkerboxes in the end. Trapped chest could also be a fun idea.

    I feel like this is a good move in a good direction. There is just the issue of non renewable keys, if they put them in chests this doesn't fix the problem it just adds a step to the process. However adding a unique mob for every structure that drops a key is a lot of work. And then what do you do about the warden for the deep dark?

    I think the vault needs a cooldown timer. Otherwise most structures will still get torn down or repurposed as farms without a second thought

      most structures arent useful for farms. really only the monument and fortress

What I mean by this is the need to preserve the sanctity or spirit of the structure disappears and therefore the initial goal of having players experience the structure for themselves disappears. Thereby having new players still having to explore new chunks in order to have their own authentic experience

    They should definitely add them to the larger and rarer structures as well as have the wandering trader have a chance to sell keys
    Buried treasure could work too by just turning the map into the key

    I really hope they make trials repeatable with farmable vaults! I was super excited to have something like the Tower from MC Dungeons. This update is.. very much not that.

    PvP worlds will have people camping these boxes and creating entire redstone alarm systems and nether highways to make these extremely risky for newer players. Example: a fully geared player, with netherite tools/armor will be able to setup a little base nearby a popular vault and kill players who open 5he vault and stral tjeor gear. Overall a great feature but for PvP worlds it will create a strange breamd new deadly place for people new to a server.

    That sounds like a really good idea for fortresses and end cities, but structures like the village or outpost would not go with this theme, if u ask me

    Loot once and you’re done.
    You cannot mine it to use elsewhere.
    So why even waste code on the key with that limit in mind?
    Perhaps they need to reconsider having the key serve as an override to allow for additional looting?
    Otherwise the vault will become useless to everyone. At least other storage blocks could be mined and used elsewhere.

    terraria biome keys and chests can only be looted once, you get only 1 of each chest in the world (either corruption or crimson, before veterans start yelling at me) and once they are looted they are gone.

      think of it as a wandering trader, you give it a key, it gives you loot. it doesn't restock, and you can only, "trade" once, but each person can trade, and they'll get something different

      the block simply stores the player's uuid in an array in its tile-entity data.

    But can it be broken? If it can be broken some how im sure they'll be destroyed in multiplayer worlds by griefers. In adddition structures loose the feeling of exploration when they get elements destroyed or built upon. Like dirt blocks placed all over or in the chamber all of the lanterns being waxed. Its definitely a good a nice feature however the structure being destroyed is almost as bad as not being able to find the loot. Im imagining the deep dark already being lit up and soundproofed will still not be very fun and engaging even i loot is still there

      Minecraft is a game about breaking blocks and building things. Unbreakable blocks in the middle of a potential build site run counter to the core principle of the game.

      I guess there could be a gamerule to make vaults unbreakable, like for turning off fire spread. But that would be something every world owner has to choose for their world, and inactive by default.
      Structures in general do not lose anything from being breakable, quite the opposite. What makes remnants of bygone civilizations so special is that they can break but are (partially) intact against the odds. If you make structures immutable, all you do is separate them from the Minecraft experience and turn them into boring, intrusive nuisances.

      @@Apairon Vaults and resource packs already do that for you, you are talking about mini-games anyway which is a third-party thing so no point in arguing against using resource packs lol.

    As I am but only playing in a single player world, I am dissapointed to learn about the choice of Mojang to only give loot only once to a player.......As this vault block then does not make much of a good addition to the game besides it's aesthetics, and it would not make me come back to that same structure after I've looted it ....😐

      They better be breakable. This is is still a building sandbox game, and nobody wants unbreakable blocks getting in the way of a build.

    I build your shulker farm but in overworld the farm works perfectly but after some time the snow golem dies automatically how can i fix

    Meh I think it’s a whole lot of work for a none issue outside of the end really, no structures have loot you can’t get through other means like trading, fishing, crafting and enchanting. + structure loot isn’t all that good only really used early game and as for debris shoot a message in the chat? Anyone got a end city debris I can dupe?

    I feel like the vault is a really good idea for others structures but it shouldn't be in every one, it should only be in one's that make sense like end cities or bastions because of the rare and important loot (Elytra/upgrade template) but it shouldn't be in ship recks and ancient cities because the loot may be good but not as important as the other stuff, but what would i know i don't play multiplayer that much.

      I disagree. I think it should be most/every structure with anything as good as diamonds or better.

      @@AndrewBrownK I feel like shipwrecks and ancient cities shouldn't have vaults, because the vault is mechanical and in those settings would of broken down over time, and there are so many different ways to get diamonds, like villagers and mining. ⛏️

      ​@@cat_in_a_fish_bowl Anywhere you get rare loot should have it. For ancient cities you have swift sneak, echo shards, armor trims, and music discs. Bastions: pigstep music discs and the upgrade template and armor trims, end ships: elytra. Shipwrecks: armor trim and treasure maps (to get heart of the sea).

      The whole trial chambers feels like a lazy copy of vault hunters. The vault block is just like the completion crate.

    Fr though, I hope they do more things that the community suggest, they need to listen more and be so much more transparent with implementation of ideas. I know it’s not true but it really does seem like they don’t listen or care about the community with how they work and operate.

    When it comes to singleplayer, this changes nothing. When it comes to multiplayer, however, it's a W.
    Can't say that I'm excited about this as I have mainly played single-player since 2013, but for multiplayer, this is a good change.
    I think it's only really needed for stuff like Elytra Wings, Upgrade Templates and Trims, non-renewable music discs like Pigstep and Otherside, and non-renewable enchanted books like swiftneak and soulspeed but it's also fine if renewable loot items are included. It's just that the non-renewable ones need it a lot more

    This is a good change for multiplayer, but it's not a fix. Not by a long shot because the vault can be broken. There will be people who will just break vaults so others won't be able to get any loot from them. It's basically the same as people looting chests now before others have the chance to.
    The only way they can fix this is by making the vault block unbreakable like Bedrock however they said that they don't want to add too many unbreakable blocks to survival because they'll interfere with players which I totally understand. If you want to build a base completely on your own say in a deep dark city you can't use 100% of the room because some of the room if filled by the *reinforced deepslate* which is unbreakble in survival minecraft.
    With the end portal blocks, it was rather ok-ish as it was and still is an end-game feature that is small and also rare but when it comes to the reinforced deepslate, it's bad because not only is the reinforced deepslate unbreakable like the end portal block but the frame that these blocks form is also much bigger than the endportal frame so more space that the player could have used gets taken up by these unbreakable blocks

      trial keys only work in trial chambers. other vaults would have their own keys, or no key.

    call me a hater, but that looks like junk loot. and i don't think ill care to go to a trail chamber other than to capture an air squid to sit in a zoo forever. so far all that's interested me about 1.21 is the copper bulb and the crafter.

    The vault should restock its loot every 20-30 ingame days to encourage players to revisit the structure(s)
