I did think that might be an issue with the floor. Over in the UK as well we face the same basic criteria and I believe that some conversions just choose to ignore the regulations and might get a rude wake up call further down the line. Although I’m just at the planning in my head stage, I’d already reached the same conclusion as you that a false floor in the rear might be the best plan. Also have been considering a fuel tank substitute underneath the car but I’m not yet convinced about that.
The parts you’ve got look great. I see though you’re still battling with the ever more frustrating aspects of post Brexit life.

fully agree with the rude awakening for some, it's really important to work with your local test centres when doing EV conversions.

Checking the rules you need an IVA inspection if you change the chassis etc from original. My plans for sinking the batteries in the boot floor are now... floored unless I accept a Q plate 🙄 you need 8 points to keep your registration and 5 must come from the chassis section. £450 for a 4 hour inspection 😬

@@MiniLifeCrisis Yes it can be a minefield, the rules are not friendly to EV conversion at the moment, hopefully as they increase the restrictions on gas-powered cars we will see improvements for old timers (vintage).

The floor looks great, would be a shame to cut it out so although it's not ideal for a Mini EV conversion, it does keep a big piece of originality

Thanks, We found a couple items from the boating world that will make the EV element look less intrusive even though we cannot hide all the batteries as much as I was hoping.

@@classicminiculture9800 instead of cutting the floor out, you could work out a solution to hang the batteries underneath the floor... in a waterprood box or something.

Loving receiving mini parts albeit less frequent these days. The new blue items look great. Hopefully the posting of the “missing” items does not cause you added import taxes by appearing to receive more packages/items. Would love your thoughts on the ultrasonic cleaner after you’ve used it a while….the first part look fantastic

Your videos are great, but please adjust volume of musics in your videos more carefully. i.e. the music at end this video ruined my hearing ability for seconds. btw, Thanks for good videos :))

That's a real shame about the boot floor, would it be possible to place a few batteries where the fuel tank would be?

Christopher the regulations are a pain, but we have a couple of ideas that we are discussing with the local test centre👍
