If you’re a Swifty or not, you can’t ignore or deny that Taylor is one of the best musicians ever! I’ll stand by that forever. Her music is universal, it’s impressionable and nostalgic. She makes you feel and learn and reminisce. She never writes just to impress, she writes and creates to exist and I can’t thank her enough for her impact on my life and what her music/art has helped me through and truly, how it helped me become the person I am today. I owe Taylor A FUCK TON!
She always knows how to put you on the edge of your seat for sure. Her presence is just one of a kind. Especially whenever it comes down to her acoustic performances. You can love her or hate her, but she will always be one hell of a songwriting genius in my book. - Great video my friend. Def enjoy your reactions.
Omg this is crazy!!! I was just practicing the song for an audition and was like "man I wish Derrik made a video on it because no one else has and he always deciphers how she plays it live" and boom! So crazy!!! Thank you so much for reading my mind!
Patiently waiting for your triumphant return with new tutorials/videos 🥹 when it comes to learning songs, I watch your videos! Love the commentary followed by the tutorial! Learned so much from you, thank you! ☺️
Wow. Best review of a T. Swizzle song I've seen! Thank you so much! I feel I've been gifted a whole new appreciation of guitar playing, music and Taylor, who I already appreviate greatly. I look forward to tuning into more of your vids!
47 year old punk rock guitarist guy with 2 daughters... Not kidding when i say TSwift can write some good songs. Started covering her stuff for my girls, but man she has really dug her vibe straight into my gut. I like her country stuff too. As to strumming patterns... I like to think of it as my fingers just free to dance with the melody and rhythm. When it feels right, it is right and don't ever stop. Play it like you wrote it on the spot.
I love your guitar tutorials; I'm only a beginner but these have helped me a lot. I keep practicing & wondering how come it doesn't sound right... and then you somehow explain it in a way that connects the dots, you know. Thank you!
Great video, Derrik!! Thank you so much for covering this surprise performance, and for your insights on Taylor's playing and overall talent. Heading over to your Patreon now for your reaction to The City cover....
I love your videos! I am blown away by your talent to be able to listen to a song and break it down with the chords and the strumming patterns like you do. (frankly, I am a little jealous LOL) I haven't been playing guitar long, but I have learned so much from your videos and from my heart I wanted to thank you❤ You are an Amazing Talent and Teacher! XOXO
help! What does he mean by 4,1,5,6 at 6:00 minutes? I play guitar, but am not classically (or anything) trained, so I don't know what that means. Thank you!
Does anyone who is reading this (or you Derrik, if you happen to see this) know if Derrik has done a full reaction to the Long Pond Sessions on his patreon? If so, count me in!
Your guitar playing and teaching is spot on perfect! I learn alot from your videos. I appreciate the time you take to explain and do it for free. I like Taylor because she is attractive and also because she is a talented guitarist too. You do a great job explaining and are talented! Keep up the good work!
Hey man thanks for this. Not really a swifty didnt give the new album much love but this vid kinda made me listen to it and appreciate the song. Thanks for breaking it down. You taught me something and introduced me to something
There's a video on RUclips of Taylor surprising an engagement party while playing her song "King of my Heart." You can see her playing the guitar through the entire video which I think would be excellent for analysis. Just look up King of My Heart Live Acoustic.
I love Taylor playing guitar....so good. Do you know why people say she can't play the guitar? Are they truely focusing on her technique, or just hating on her?
She performed Hits Different live acoustic and I would love to know how she's arranged it for the live performance. It's hard for me to see from cellphone videos
Thanks for covering the performance, if you don't mind me asking are the strings on your gibson the ones from factory or did you switch them out for a different brand
Hi, I am a beginner and the strumming pattern for verse is really difficult for me, is there any specific name that i can look up some tutorial online for that particular strumming pattern? Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting this! Your guitar videos are so educational and informative and easy to follow along, really appreciate them! Keep up the videos! I hope you have checked out Billie Eilish guitar song, TV and 30th. I would love to see a guitar tutorial on the 30th, she has done an acoustic video too! I know you would enjoy those!
Can you do a tutorial for more Harry's songs?? He has a lot of songs played mainly on the guitar. Like: fine line, sweet creature, Matilda, from the dining table, two ghosts, etc. Thanks a lot if you do it, I'm a beginner😅
I'm not a guitar play, however I can't get enough of your admiration for Taylor's guitar skill. I recently discovered an other acoustic performance. ruclips.net/video/hXT4j6Abu7w/видео.html - How You Get The Girl.
She’s not a guitar virtuoso by any means, but with that said, she’s impressive. How many “musicians” nowadays play any instrument, write their own songs, or can lead a crowd like that? And this is coming from a RHCP and Slipnot fan😂
Great analysis and very useful technique explanation. We played a much rocker version, check out the video at our channel with guitar rock riffs and solo included ! as an alternate way to arrange/play it live
@@DerrikRockne i love all his songs but I feel like outskirts or someday would be great as they arent covered on youtube as much of his other stuff. Again love you content man!
it’s definitely not the best performance ever, but i think it’s mostly because she hasn’t performed frequently in a while. i think she will be more comfortable and sound better once the tour starts.

yeah...even if you don't like her personally (how could you not?) you have to respect her talent.
Some people put so much effort into hating her that they're saying she's pretending to play the guitar 🤣🤣🤣
I feel sad for them.
Taylor is fantastic but one of the best ever is a bit too much for her
@@godcaoss nah, she is one of the best of her generation and will go down in history as one of the best ever

Gosh, Taylor with her guitar is something I will never ever get tired of watching. Such a fun video and tutorial! Glad to have you back :)
agreed!
Do "Dancing with our hands tied" at the Reputation tour please, her performance was amazing! And I want to learn how to play it so bad...
This would be a good one and is available on Netflix.

One of your best Taylor tutorials to date. Thank you for being so detail-oriented. You’re the reason I’m making so much progress! Thank you again.

Welcome back! So glad you made this! But I was also curious to see the tutorial for the cover she made of "the city" after this performance
I didn't do a tutorial for that one. More of just a reaction on patreon, but might soon!

She performed Hits Different live acoustic and I would love to know how she's arranged it for the live performance. It's hard for me to see from cellphone videos
Yes!
Derrick how do you play the b and C sharp? I can’t find it on google that tell me the way your playin it. I love the video❤️
Love your channel bro, keep it up.
Give this a listen, Coterie - say goodbye.
Been wanting some tabs on this for a looking time 😅
i'm obsessed with how obsessed you are with taylor
Any chance you would do a tutorial on her version of the city?? PLEASE
Thanks for covering the performance, if you don't mind me asking are the strings on your gibson the ones from factory or did you switch them out for a different brand
i change my strings every couple of months, depending on if they sound dull or not. I think I have elixir's on this guitar right now

Derrick you made my day perfect with this video. I love all your guitar tutorials. Thank you so much 🙏❤️
got a feeling her first finger is anchored to the 2nd string 1st fret and her pinky not in use so G is just on strings 5 and 6 not 1
Can you do a tutorial for more Harry's songs?? He has a lot of songs played mainly on the guitar. Like: fine line, sweet creature, Matilda, from the dining table, two ghosts, etc. Thanks a lot if you do it, I'm a beginner😅
omg pls do the tutorial for “we are never ever getting back together”
The f is actually not supposed to have a second finger anchored, the g is supposed to be a gadd11, and the am7 is supposed to be a regular am
Please do LONDON BOY acoustic in her ERAS TOUR
A man of his word 😉
This was quite an interesting watch! This gained you a new subscriber. I hope to see you around more! :)
Thanks for the sub!
I think Taylor plays f as a Fsus2 because it’s the one she uses for Betty and red songs
2:36 HAHAHAHAHAH ❤❤❤
can u do back to december
Try I almost do red tour acoustic
What was your journey on learning guitar on RUclips? I’m trying to do the same and I always feel like there’s a better way to do it
can you please to Welcome To New York from the amazon prime video?? thank youuuu!!!!!
Any chance you could do one of the new Hardy songs? Love your vids man
planning on it!

Im so distracted by your guns 😢
Please react to would’ve could’ve should’ve by Taylor swift !!!
That G is not the right G she plays, because she keeps the second finger on the second string - first fret. That’s the G she plays 😉
would love to see some zach bryan break downs
any songs specifically?

could you do the cover beabadoobe did of Milk by The 1975 please
“I’m a little rusty”
Pffffffffffffffffffft.
Just a fun fact: Taylor swift can play the guitar, banjo, piano, and ukulele
Your arm is outrageously large
Taylor is good at the right hand, not the left hand.
She doesn't sound good in my opinion . No hate

it’s definitely not the best performance ever, but i think it’s mostly because she hasn’t performed frequently in a while. i think she will be more comfortable and sound better once the tour starts.
