@@DerrikRockne The live version of Wildest Dreams at the Grammy museum is done with an electric guitar, which totally changes the vibe of the song. Would be cool of you to do a quick listen of the song as it is, and then listen to the electric guitar acoustic. Might get the chanche to share some cool insight on how to extract the core of the song from a version, and change it's vibe and do a different version with another instrument.

It's amazing how this song can be broken down into parts like this. For casual listeners, the song itself is nice because of the melody and lyrics and the meaning. But hearing you dissect her performance, the conscious decision she makes in subtly increasing the intensity from verse to chorus and her overall dynamics - it really widens my perspective on her as an artist. Thank you! Looking forward to more of your content.

@@emiliab9322 you missed a whole comment-war here a year ago😂 all the comments got deleted I guess. Anyway, I’m not mocking her guitar skills, I think that’s very shallow to do. However I find it a bit cringe to say “finally her guitar skills get some recognition” to such a big artist who has absolutely made it but clearly isn’t a guitar virtuoso in any way and thus doesn’t need to also be praised for outstanding guitar skills she doesn’t have. If she would be some unknown special guitarist it would be completely appropriate to say that she’s finally getting recognition. It’s just a bit pretentious to me now. Nothing wrong with using a capo, look at Tommy Emmanuel for example, but praising someone’s guitarskills based on open cowboy chords just doesn’t make that much sense.

Just discovered you. Luv it. "She's as big as she is for a reason." Shortest and best acknowledgement I've heard yet of a young woman, obviously born with tremendous talent (she spoke full words at ten months when most children haven't yet learned to walk) who has worked so hard at perfecting her skills. Luv your reaction when she lets loose with those powerful vocal chords driven from her diaphragm, in contrast with the head voice she uses on the album. I've been a superfan from the moment I heard her sing Our Song in 2007 and got to tell her personally in 2008 she'd be as big as the Beatles, my only other superfan musical entity. She is simply amazing.

@@DerrikRockne I don't watch your Taylor Swift 'how to' videos to learn how to play like her; I can't play anymore because I messed up my left hand in 2003. I watch just to see the looks of utter amazement on your face when the breadth and scope of her talent comes altogether at peak moments. She has no equal. I'm hoping she considers doing a series of outdoor concerts next year with just her and a guitar and piano. I have no doubt she could draw crowds of a quarter million and up. And I would drive halfway across this continent to attend one. Or two. Or five.

Thanks Derrik for recognizing how great our American Queen really is and for complimenting her on her talent. I was so blown away by her vocals on this one too. So blown away that I had to get Hulu for a month, because they had the whole Paris performance on there for a little while and I had to watch it over and over again. I brag about her constantly. She has such amazing rhythm, but to feel the lyrics like she does at the same time! I am so impressed with her. More and more every day.

I found this simultaneously soothing and helpful to watch. You have insane talent and skill to be able to pick up the whole song, progression, chords, strumming patterns and all those little details too by ear. I would kill for skills like that! I look forward to seeing your channel grow! Also shoutout to those shook looks you had when Taylor hit those notes.😂 Her vocals were just phenomenal and always have such raw emotion.💓

Derrik Rockne You’re welcome! I play a little guitar and piano but I’ve put my guitar down for a while. Hoping to pick it up again and become persistent enough to learn those skills well. Problem is my guitar has such a beautiful timbre but I honestly feel it’s still too big for my tiny ass hands. Hoping to get a much smaller guitar soon, hoping it’ll make things a little easier. :)

This video is so clear. In both your teaching and in production. The video is really well-edited, you chose perfect placement for the inlays, have great lighting, and the sound quality is fantastic & leveled. In teaching, you're concise and knowledgeable, and very easy to follow. Plus you're this handsome masculine man who's not afraid to show your admiration for Taylor Swift as an artist. I wish you were in LA, I'd totally pay you to give me more lessons. I've only known simple chords since around 2012 and haven't really taken the time to improve, but I plan to keep up with your videos and learn some things.
