I had the same thought. She doesn't get enought respect and recognition for it honestly. She might not play the most complicated chords in existence, but there's way more to being a good guitarist than the chords you play
In every Taylor Swift video you did you've stopped to praise her talent for at least two minutes straight and I'm 113% here for it. She learned a lot of skills in guitar and piano over the years, but you can see she was already really good with the whole dinamics thing since the beginning of her career, probably because of country music. I wish she would do more of these.
haha she continually blows me away! Nobody else like her. Her start in country music definitely polished her guitar playing skills and she continues to get better, which doesn't seem possible.
@@DerrikRockne thank you! Just found your videos, it is nice to find someone who apreciates her skills, I only found people who consider her skills basic :)
I love the acoustic versions of taylor's song more than original because she's really entrtaining to watch when she's playing guitar. She makes it look so effortless but being consistent with her picking and strumming while singing is very hard.
@@DerrikRockne hi buddy, great video as always. Can you tell the exact chords Taylor used in this video (see link below)? I don’t think the G Em Cadd9 D was exactly used here. I saw some hanmering and interesting chords here. Thanks buddy! ruclips.net/video/e3lyBXrzR3s/видео.htmlsi=VIOY9cAtk1ddrg9W
I've been trying to learn this specific performance of hers for a long time, so thank you so much for this! It's really impressive that you can just figure out what she's playing - chord and finger-picking wise within like 3 minutes lol. Please could you do a tutorial on her The Man performance from Live in Paris or even this Tiny Desk performance as she seems to use chucking and I really have trouble doing that :)

i play guitar too and i keep saying that even if Taylor plays simple chords live there's no denying her guitar skills, especially her strumming. it's really sooo fucking good. she hits it so hard and considering how she sings so well live too people need to accept she's great at what she does
Wow as a listener I've never realized her strumming patterns and dynamics - I just always thought it was a good performance. But you really like made me realize the thought and effort that Taylor Swift is putting into these smaller acoustic performances!
Omg I LOVE YOUU! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE STRUMMING PATTERN FOR A LOOOONG TIME!! AT FIRST I TRIED TO DO IT MYSELF BUT I JUST STARTED PLAYING GUITAR SO IT WASN'T REALLY GOOD! AFTER A WHILE SOME VIDEOS OF OTHER GUITAR PLAYERS THAT EXPLAINED HOW TO DO THE SONG CAME OUT, BUT I COULD JUST NOTICE THAT THE PICKING PATTERN WASN'T THE SAME!! AND AFTER MOOOOOONTHS I'VE SEEN THIS VIDEO😍 IT'S PERFECT!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH 😍
I'm a fan. You have a really good ears. I couldn't even hear other (detailed) nuances (I mean guitar skills) in her performance until you figured it out...
I'm an Neil Young, JT, JB age guitar player and haven't paid enough attention to the skills of TS - until now. She's really something. Thanks for bringing her out.
I and my peers noticed she just use the same chords to some of her songs then she just changes the strumming pattern. I guess it's her mastery in strumming patterns that made them sound different and rich in sound ; D
@@DerrikRocknehi, awesome videos buddy. Can you tell the exact chords Taylor used in this video (see link below). I don’t think she exactly used the G Em Cadd9 D here. I see some hammering and interesting chords there. Thanks! ruclips.net/video/e3lyBXrzR3s/видео.htmlsi=HMvmP8GAwOW9Ot_o
Great tutorial, makes me wish I still had a guitar. Taylor's an incredible talent and more and more people are beginning to realise that. Singer, songwriter, musician and all round beautiful person.
I'll keep saying this, you're a genius for doing this!!! More taylor swift! I'm a subscriber btw loooove your videos so much especially taylor tutorials!
Hey Derrik I have to say that I absolutely love your Taylor Swift tutorials. Your videos are great, your contents are great and everything. This certainly helps me a lot with my guitar-learning and song-playing and all. Thank you sooo much. And as a Taylor Swift fan, I also wanna say thank you for recognizing her talents. It really means a lot to me. Hope to see more of your tutorials of Taylor's songs in the future.
First time here…. Your tutorial on ‘Whiskey & you’ led me to look at your videos. You are a true musician not just a guitar picker. Great talent for picking up the notes by ear. You have my respect.
Hey, I just wanna say thank you and you're by far the only youtuber who tries to teach us the "original version" of her songs. The tutorials of yours are sooooooo accurate and for that I'm subscribing to your channel :)
Hi! I found your Cornelia Street video a few days ago and since then I've been watching your TSwift song tutorials. What I like about your tutorials is that you include your viewers in your process of identifying the chords real-time. You're teaching and at the same time learning with us. I learn a lot more than just the chords. Keep making more TSwift accoustic tutorials please
i dont even play guitar or interested in it but since a fan on twt brought part of u praising her guitar skills, i watched the whole vid AND U DESERVE A LIKE AND A SUBSCRIBE!
Wowow!! This is a big help I've been watching the performance back and forth to find the tune picking pattern! Watching Taylor's hands where she picked the string hahahaha Thank you for doing this you are amazing!! 💕 🤗 Hoping for more videos 🙏💞

Love the way you just stopped to compliment her guitar skills! Could you do her acoustic version of Holy Ground in the Live Lounge? I know it's a piano version, but it sounds like it's a lower key and I would love to see how that would sound on the guitar.

I think it’ll be great if you take few mins after your review and lesson and have a guitar duet cover of the song you’re reviewing. It sounds so good when that happens occasionally during the video.
Derrick, love ur channel so much!! Thank you. Do the all too well (10 minute version). She did it live with a guitar during the premier of the music vide
