Love tin tops but open wheelers in VR are amazing. I would swear when the sun is in my face it gets warmer it's that immersive lol. From Pole position to this in my lifetime blows my mind.
VR sim racing is awesome. Been at it since the CV1, then the index and now a Quest 3. Visual clarity has improved massively. There still is room for improvement and you do need a beefy PC to get the most out of the modern headsets. But as an experience it is unmatched, I still get giddy every time I do a session.
Vr is really good to learn new tracks and to perfect braking points because of the depth of field, but I still prefer my triples for long races. Quality is great, though, on both, at least on my rig. I think I'd play vr more if I didn't live in such a hot and humid area.
Vr is too tiring for me. I own a quest 3 and it's just too hot and heavy. I play vr for immersion especially in rally since judging distance is more important when you don't know the stage. But for anything longer than 20 mins I'm gonna go for my 4k 70 inch setup.
Happy to see you're putting that new demo VR headset to use! I race exclusively in VR. AC and AMS2 are both excellent. Love the videos! Thanks for keeping on!
Glad to see you are in love with VR! Give Dirt Rally 2.0 a go in vr, it’s amazing! EA WRC is also incredible in VR but the visuals are really poo unfortunately, but definitely worth trying.
When it comes to racing in VR no sim does it better than AMS2. The AI is decent and you can have amazing moments. I remember sweating my ass off fighting for a P7 in Road America with the GTEs, going door to door with a Porsche for 3 laps straight.
So glad your back in the world of VR, Mike. I am still rocking my CV1, and still enjoy it.... I did click on your affiliate link, but it appears that your new VR Headset will not ship to Australia just yet ; ((( But you know your most hated saying "No VR, No Buy"...... Well all I can say is thank goodness when it comes to actual Sim-Racing Channels, that the expression isn't "No VR, No Watch", hahahaha. Glad to hear your so happy with your new VR Headset, Mr SimRacing604. [;]-)
Wow that looks great. I didn‘t even hear about the headset you are using. How many FPS can you gain while driving? I am using a Pico 4 but can only run it at max 45FPS with a RTX3090. Your headset connects via DP, right? That brings much more performance.
you can use CREW CHIEF in conjuction with VR, that will include an sporter and your racing enginneer giving you that valuable info you are missing and providing a much more inmersive experience.
Mr Mike !!! I'm not sure if you've done it already but would love to see a video based on your VR settings for AC & AMS2 my friend !!! Is it more about the headset or the settings ? (Given that the cpu is decent of course)
@@superdownwards thanks! For me it’s the simplicity of setting things up. AC is amazing, but so many things need to be configured correctly to get things to your liking. AMS2 is so simple by comparison
Are you rocking the E4 variant? I'm tempted to get one just for cockpit experiences. I have a Quest 1/2/3 /CV1, Windows HP headset. I don't even think I cracked open the HP just because by the time I bought it severely discounted it was already outdone by the Quest series.
@@SimRacing604 Honored for your reply, I think it’s more of needing precise steps to follow as opposed to an issue with the headset. The demo on the headset puts me in the VR world. The AI running grip hacks out of the hairpin? I had a similar experience once at Daytona where the AI just destroyed me in the traction zone onto the oval.
@@AndrewShaww I have the same thing with Daytona. And it irks me. I want to race at sunrise there so bad. The morning dew is a killer detail, but unfortunately the AI pacing is inconsistent so it makes for less than great racing.

VR is the way for cockpit games.
It makes a huge difference in Visual Pinball too. Depth perception helps a lot.

Honestly, going from F1 2020 to experiencing VR in GT7 blew my mind. It felt just like the first time I tried Mario 64 after being used to 2D games.
tbf, not knowing how many laps left was a problem for the drivers of this era too lol... so the immersion is spot on

I love ams2 in vr, you can put a straw in your beer but drinking tea/coffee is dangerous 😂
Don’t know if you’ve tried AC with your new headset but it’s my go to for VR. I’m using the Q3. Nice race.
