Infinite combos? Not quite. Once upon a time, there was a way to break combos that basically let you loop combos almost forever. Naoto from Persona 4 Arena got to use this the best.

I remember getting one of my opponents tilted when I got a 100% smp loop to win the set. Naoto definitely wasn't great, but it was so fun.
Naoto was the character that made me care about the inner workings of Fighting Games as Design. This is such a wild feature and I mained her all throughout P4A until Ultimax where I became horrifyingly toxic and picked up Ken lmao.

The status effects are so cool (except for confusion). RPGbros win again.
Freeze before Ultimax 2.0 was awful too cause you had to mash left and right to escape so the opponent couldn't pull off any fake shit, which means there's a chance you break out on a forward input and get clocked because you weren't holding back. 2.0 made it so you could use buttons along with directions.

If I remember correctly, you actually don't get that many SMP loops off throw, so he actually needed the super. A starters don't straight up TOD too.

Legit, this game is soo much bullshit and the status effects are HUGE memes they only put in cuz "Muh RPG franchise" but I have such a fondness for how unashamed this version is and BECAUSE I cared for P4/P3 I bothered to learn this game over Blazblue which I thought was cool but it didn't move me off SF4 lmao

@@raydeh96 on launch it was like a slightly smaller version of what happened with DBFZ, a LOT of people picked it up because of persona so it was active as hell. I remember being sad cuz I only owned a ps3 when all my friends had 360s so I’d lobby surf a lot
