Neal Adams often overlooked fact. HOS #88 came out Oct 1970 the same month as the ICONIC Batman #227 which were both drawn by Neal Adams. Essentially the same cover. Same release date/month so he was clearly trying to be efficient. Grab them both and don’t sleep on ROM #33 if you want to own the trilogy/homage.
Started the video with a real banger. Batman 400 is one of my favorite books. All star line up of creators and characters. I still have my childhood copy and a slabbed 9.8. Just bought a beautiful raw copy for a friend for only $4 just to spread the love.
Legit picked up a Moon Knight #15 a couple months ago that's out for a clean and press right now. It's at least a 9.2 in my opinion. Excited to see it on this list. Paid $25 for it.
Man! Thanks for giving us a few of these sleeper cover books. I love how you give us prices and the artist. I’m going hunting very soon! Maybe I can score one of these?!?!
Awesome videos. Thank you so much for the information! =) Gotta run to my LCS for another short box anyway. Let's see if I can find any of these. Definitely, going to aim for Batman 400, Moon knight 15, House of Secrets, and Dare Devil 158.
Nice "show and tell". Lots of nice cover art comic books out there. I think Marvel did do a reprint cover of Amazing Spiderman 129 for a Peter Parker the Spectacular Spiderman or Marvel Tales cover. As a graduation present, I gave my #129 to my nephew, hope he's expanding his comic book collection.
Waaay back in the 90s, I bought both DD 158 and 168 at the same con. I spent way more on 158 than I did 168. Granted, show was closing up when I got the latter, but I think it's illustrative of your point here. The fact that you're hyping it for a cool cover speaks to the issue as well. I remember when X-Men 248 was an in-demand book. Even got a second printing 'cuz it was Jim Lee's first issue on the book. Now it's just slightly more than an average issue from around the same time. Interesting how trends go.
I much rather prefer your hiking ramblings versus top 10 list style videos. Those are the videos that I subscribe for. I generally avoid top 10 list content. More ramblings please.
So i listed a spectacular spider-man 64 on e-bay today. Customer from spain contacted me and said he wanted to buy it but there was no international shipping. I was perplexed because i am enrolled in ebay international shipping. I contacted ebay. The book was 1st cloak and dagger. Because the word dagger was in the title it was blocked for international shipping. Something about uk laws. I removed word dagger and it now has international shipping.
Your new wall looks like it’s missing a few titles from your old wall. Did you move a few? If so, great. If not, what are you hoping to fill the open spaces with? Are you still in “pause” mode with regarding to buying? What’s up Swags? Fill us in.
You nailed it with the Brunner Doctor Strange. He's criminally underrated and that's probably my favorite of his covers!
Now THATS what comic book You Tubing is all about. I just learned a lot - Thank you Swag ⚡️💥
Totally agree on Frank Brunner, Dr. Strange 1 cover is one of my all-time favorites. Got the #4 in a 9.6
Never knew about the House of Secrets cover before. Nice!
Thank you for your opinion and insight. Very interesting list with great background information.

Great idea for a video. Loved it. My personal favourite cheap-but-awesome comic is New Mutants #93 (1990)

Great selection of covers.

So glad I landed a Doctor Strange #4. Such a great cover.
Great choices. I do have 8 of them from when I was kid. Sub -Mariner 20 is one of my all time favorites. The red really pops!
BATMAN #400 is considered the last bronze age Batman story
I just picked up a nice Cap 137, great cover by my favorite artist Sal Buscema.
When I was a kid in the ‘80s, DD158 was my grail.
Sleeper covers...Silver age Captain Marvel 12 centers. Pure art. And any Sgt. Fury covers from Steranko
Awesome videos. Thank you so much for the information! =)

Awesome video!! I was just looking at that Batman 400 because of the cover but I thought the 9.2 I saw was listed slightly high at $60 for me..

I always loved that Dr. Strange #4. Probably one of the best skull covers ever. Come to think of it, I wish you hadn't mentioned it.

Good list! Mike Zeck has so many great covers. But, Captain America 286 is on top of my list for great covers/affordable books list.
Also filed under EPIC PURPLE COVERS
Captain Marvel #4 (1st series) 1968
And for the record...
Totally on point about Frank Brunner
Doctor Strange 4 is one of my favorite covers. Just picked up an old label 9.2 that I thought would be a nice CPR candidate.
House of Secrets 88 is a great choice 🙌
Bruners doctor strange covers are some of the best…def underrated.
Good add swagg.. back to the basic,, Nice !!!
Whats happening with the index list dude ... for the month .. Classic from u ..!!
Daredevil 158 was such a big deal book back in the 80's. One of the top books everyone wanted. I forgot how great that cover was.
Invaders Annual #1 from 1977. An Alex Schomburg cover that is actually affordable (because it's not from the Golden Age).
The Mike Zeck Marvel Tales was pretty sweet
Any word from CGC about the warped inner wells that are damaging books?
Yooooo also check out capt America 272 a Mike zeck cover first vermin cool cover 😮
Can I add one to your list? Swamp Thing #9 by Berni Wrightson. Great cover and really affordable!

Foom Magazine 2 to the moon!!

What tool do you use to look up the raw value in your video? I can't tell what it is. Another underrated book: ASM Annual #19; read it.
Comics Price Guide - their website is in the description :)
