You probably haven't heard about "Margin Time" If you consult the digital help manuals of the Puyo Puyo Tetris games, Margin Time is explained as the time it takes for damage to build up to a certain level. Judging by how long SSENRED321 and Doremy were battling it out in certain games, the Margin Time has certainly run out a few times by then. That's why SSENRED321 quickly counterattacked with just a simple 1-renki.
@@CrimsonDevil_Rias If they did know, then this was definitely a worthy making fun of it, even if it doesn't mean you should instantly give up when Margin time passes over, I would certainly consider it advisable.

i like to believe that watching doremy over the past few months has IMMENSELY improved my vision for tspins setups. for example, at 33:10 there was an opportunity to place the L on top of the Z to create an STSD after the existing TSD is cleared. yet, doremy didn’t do this. why? because once you visualise the TSD cleared, the garbage hole renders the STSD useless. (hopefully this makes enough sense) it’s because of small analyses like this that could prove useful in the future if i happen to be in a similar situation. thank you doremy for the instructive video once again :)
I think it's poetic to see a PvT match like this -- neither the Tetris player or Puyo player have an overall advantage over the other. It's up to the rushdown Tetris player's sheer speed to kill the Puyo player as quickly as possible before margin time starts. Meanwhile the glass cannon Puyo player has to survive the flurry of strong Tetris attacks before being able to deal strong attacks at Tetris speeds via margin time, and eventually being able to dish out a killer chain in the end.
SSENRED proceeding to spasm the hell out of their puyos afterwards never fails to make me laugh I notice they usually tend to do something funny when they know their goose is cooked

It looks like if you're playing Tetris and if the opponent is playing Puyos, it feels like you have to beat them quickly, otherwise it will get to the point where even a 1-chain can be devastating to the tetris player, and you can't deal any damage to them. Example: 7:49 Which I find to be stupid when that one paltry chain is able to remove all of the garbage and send garbage to the other side.
@@tehrik0020 While that is true, the lag of the game in general, margin time, eaten inputs, and the reduced speed means veteran players don't have it nearly as easily as they did back in the first Puyo Tetris.
@@deandregreene2587 you also have to factor how much a Tetris player can screw over a Puyo at game start, Puyo has a somewhat harder time removing junk because it stacks on top of their pile, meaning that it can potentially block every chain you've prepared and force you to rebuild entirely in a narrower space just to clean garbage and resume whatever you were doing originally. (Not sure if 4-wide completely abusing Puyos is a valid argument but 4-wides are sorta considered taboo so...)
