How does one interview an introvert genius like Tuomas Holopainen and achieve a natural and relaxed discussion with great insights? Well, I think you just showed us how! I really loved Tuomas' praise for his fellow band members. Brilliant question. Well done Bear, and thank you.

Thank you so much for this interview. You did an amazing job asking good questions and having done your homework, even getting the very Finnish references like Tove Jansson! This made my night, just before going to bed.
I loved the answer Tuomas gave about being grateful for life because it's so fleeting. We are here for a moment and should appreciate everything, the beauty of it all, and accept it as it is, embrace all of it, including the curveballs it throws at us. What an amazing coincidence that I just before watching this had comforted my fiancee, who was tearing up because of the idea of losing me some day and what I told her was exactly what Tuomas said, in part verbatim. We're here for a short time and should not fear what could happen but instead love and be loved. ❤️

When asked about his fellow members of nightwish all guys are complemented for their character but floor for being professional. I am pretty sure she and Tuomas are also good friends. Just an observation. If I had a follow up question to Tuomas, I'd ask him, but I think it is very likely that he himself would not even know.

I think they surely are real good friends, too, and you see it in bits and pieces of some videos. Them hugging after the show, Tuomas giving Floor some crazy slippery when wet -sign and sharing jokes.. But I quess her professionality and talent strucks so hard that´s the first thing that comes to his mind - how he admires Floors passion and ability to do what ever is thrown at her. Like when people watch Jinjer songs for the first times, all people concentrate 120% on Tati´s voice and charisma - the tricks she does are so overwhelming.. Only over time they start to notice and point out the excellent talent of the other members of the band. Some things just are soo massive that they fill your field of vision, you can't think of anything else for a moment..

And as music is very much the core, the essence of their being, the air they breath, the language they speak- that might very well be the most high level connection and praise they can have and give to another person. And that might include much more than it would to some mortal without all that passion and talent. It's not just a skill level, it's the deepest level of being & sharing

I agree that it is something along this line. That they connect personally and musically on such a high level that the simple fun together was not in the forefront. But it could also be simply that she is a woman and he did not want rumours to start again. I don't think so, given her status as a goddess, but, again, I do not want to speak for Tuomas.
