@@J_ads2000Very true. In fact, I recall in Aegon the 3rd, reign. There were a few cases of people claiming to be Prince Daeron the Daring. But they were all revealed to be imposters trying to claim the throne for themselves.
@@J_ads2000I think it’s “assumed” how he died in the books but there’s a few ways it could’ve happened so I’m interested in seeing the show portrayal since he’s suppose to be the best qualities of king viserys children

That’s kind of the point of his character. It’s pretty clear when George went back to expand on the dance in fire and blood he added his character to seemly balance out the sides a little more.

In all fairness they probably don’t even know who the main characters are. Adding Daeron won’t make a difference.

I really thought in season 1 that he was just going to be an absent character but I think how they spoke of him in season 2... we're almost certain to see him and his dragon soon. Maybe before season end but certainly season 3.

Laena told us half of all eggs never hatch. It's possible eggs were placed with Helaena and Aemond but they never hatched.

I suppose one reason to send Daeron away so young would be essentially as a status symbol? To give House Hightower its own personal prince? And to have more control over raising him, as it was becoming clear that Aegon and soon after, Aemond were growing beyond anyone's control.
It was to give the Hightowers a dragon rider. And yes to have some influence over his education. As we can see Aegon and Aemond don't give a shit about Otto or his family really. Daeron will see the Hightowers as his family.
The fact that Cregan stark really only made the trailer is insane 💀. No Dalton, no Old Grover yet, no Jeyne Arryn, no baby Tyrell… it’s starting to feel like a private war between the Hightowers and Targaryens

I don't know where people are getting this rumour but Daeron isn't a bastard. How could he be . He's a dragon rider. Where would his Targaryen blood come from if he was Alicent and Cole's child.
Otto or alicent probably found some excuse to send daeron to old town in the show so that he would be far and a last hope incase rhenyra ascended and exceuted the greens. It does still make sense for him to squire for a Hightower relative plus Oldtown would have the resources to keep a dragon instead of some place like the North, the vale or the Stormlands also doesn't stuff like this happen cause remember Tywin married his cousin even though it brought no alliance to the Lannisters. I'm also pretty sure Viserys was pliable enough to let the Lord Hoghtower have his nieces children over for a while as an honour or a gesture if they asked.

Everyone acts like this part of the book is long, but it's really just a piece of the book, and I really don't think they are rushing at all. This isn't intended to be a 6 season part of the show. They could literally keep the name and start from Aegon the Conquerer.
As a non book reader I feel like it’s okay that they haven’t shown Daeron yet or when he was growing up. The show is very short so far. If they introduce this guy and mention that he grew up with the rest of them I wouldn’t really question it too much

I have a theory, Daeron looks more like Alicent than Viserys (even though he’s definitely Vizzy T’s son since he rides a dragon) but optically they sent him away so he wouldn’t be treated as a bastard for having Alicents brown and “plain” features

In the books daeron has silver hair and purple eyes,it is clear,in fact he is born at the same time as jace making the bastardy even more obvious
@@brunoperez5062 well yeah ik all Alicents children have typical Targaryen features, but the show isn’t afraid to deviate slightly from the books. Similar to how the Velaryons were changed from having fair skin to dark skin, they could change it about Daeron to give him some more complexity and possibly explain why he’s been absent thus far

Aegon, like others in similar positions of power, abused his status as an aristocrat. And there are plenty of flaws with the Blacks too, like Rhaenyra’s sham marriage and bastard kids, “killing” Laenor, Blood and Cheese, Daemon in general, etc. My theory is just an idea that the writers might come up with since there was absolutely no mention of him the whole first season, except when they said the greens have 4 dragons.
@maxvasquez1088 in the show they are very bias towards the blacks,they made laenor infertile so that is why rhaenyra also had bastards,they made laenor death fake,they made blood and cheese a lot less dramatic and shifted the blame entirely on daemon,but I agree that I misunderstood what you said about daeron

I don't think casual viewers will care too much unless the character is introduced on screen. Not a big deal, since we knew he existed already 🤷

He was sent there as a ward, which is pretty normal in the world for lords to send their children to other houses. Usually as a hostage or as a way to form alliances.
I understand your saltiness. They have dropped the ball with certain characters and the timeline in this show. It's a case of, for everything they get right they get something equally wrong. It is frustrating. Better than GoT seasons 7-8, but that's a real low bar.
