Question-Every other source I’m searching shows Matthew to be written prior to 70 (the destruction of the temple). IE: “It is clear that this Gospel was written at a relatively early date-prior to the destruction of the temple in a.d. 70. Some scholars have proposed a date as early as a.d. 50.” -MacArthur study Bible The only reason I ask is that Dr. Smith references Matthew writing to a people who have just had their world rocked by Titus destroying the temple. I’m not trying to be combative I’m just looking for the true date the gospel was written because it does put what Matthew said in a different context towards his audience (as referenced by Dr. Smith). Thank y’all for everything you’ve done with this channel. I love it.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Calling it a 9/11 moment is inaccurately capturing the weight of the blow to a people whose souls are literally bound to a belief. It was profoundly unsettling to know our country could be stricken like it was on 9/11; but it didn’t make the Christian soul quake like finding out there is no eternity nor Christ would do.
Where can I find the videos for the five/six sermons of the book of Matthew? I’ve found a few in the series called “Jesus and the...” but I can’t figure out the order.
Rob Stewart, different ideas about that are fashionable at different times. Maybe it would be nice to know for sure, but it probably doesn't really matter.
@@tommarshall7247 I was tripping about it cause he starts out as this vile tax collector then would be interesting if it was him that had this huge arc of a story going from really bad guy to writer of the scriptures but his arcs interesting as it is from bad man to apostle. But no after all doesn’t matter who wrote it it’s still scripture
Listening a second time since it's a great lecture. I'd like to suggest that the "callous disregard" for children in ancient history doesn't seem to be on the part of the mothers. In Greece, in one era the elders of the community would decide whether a baby was to be exposed or not. This indicates that the mothers would be less inclinced to do so. The letter the lecturer cites from 1 BC is a husband giving instructions to the wife. So to broad brush the entire culture as being callous to me seems to make invisible half the population who probably were not in any way callous.
Is it ok to print the notes? Don't want to get in trouble! I love all these teaching, they have been a blessing I want to print them cause it's easier to read of paper than a screen
Randy... A “star” in scripture is an angel. It's “His star” and it travels along and stands over the place the child was born. This is not a ball of gas in space.

Is there a part two to this, and if so can someone please give me the name of it. Thanks and God bless
You know he does the whole bible like this? But I don't think Matthew has a part two

Thank you so much for your ministry! I was wondering if you had a sermon specific to Matthew 4: 1-11, the temptation of Christ in the wilderness?
Something wrong with the audio on this video. Is it just me or is the audio not coming through?
What makes you think Mt is post 70AD?
I don’t know if the apostle Mathew wrote the gospel of Mathew.

Messiah Yeshua also provoked the Jews to jealousy having to do w/ the gentiles!
Isn’t “out of Egypt...” also a reference to Abraham?
