@@KnightDriveTV I actually have two GMT 800 tahoes, one is a '06 Z71 even. I can't imagine taking it where I go off-road. Like you guys say in the video, you just need to know where their limits are.
Yep, I have a 2001 Yukon Xl and these things are as capable as the best of them and it still runs like new with 140k miles on it. And the long versions have so much storage space even with the 3rd row seats in place. I take mine in the snow, sand and the mountains.
Loving the content! I’m building an 02 Tahoe, just took it on a trail for the first time to test the waters & had a lot of fun. It’s hard to find Tahoe off road content like this, so I’m excited to see what you do with the build!
Lots more coming ahead. Atomic Fab coilovers coming shortly. Josh roller painted the suburban; the outcome is ahead. We have some lighting things coming, and a Big Rig Las Vegas trip I'm planning of a bunch of full size stuff on the trail. I also have some Dream Racing content starting; Lambo's, Corvettes, NSX's...all kinds of goods.
I need to do a build video for my 2001 tahoe. I use it on my channel quite a bit. I wanted more torque so I built a 6.0L and swapped engine then hopped up a 4l60e and swapped that. It is a BEAST off road in that it pulls up ANYTHING with ease. I have been probably 20,000 miles on trails. Only complaint is truck is a hair big other than that it is awesome. I would be half tempted to build a zr2 s10 blazer. I think that with my drive train would be ultimate.
This looks like a blast! I love seeing these big 800s out on the trail. Definitely want to pick me up one of these, they're just tough to find in decent shape here in New England.
@@KnightDriveTV yeah, I definitely think that's the way to go. I was just actually looking at San Diego Craigslist last night, I have some friends out that way, but they seem to be fairly expensive in CA.
I driven my 06 Short wheel base yukon 4x4 through some pretty rough trails. It has the 5.3 with the 4.10 and g80 locker. I've turned the torsion bars to level the front and have 33" tires on it. Does well enough for me.
Appreciate it Cole. Weather is cooling down, so we are getting back out there; some camping and cooking ahead hopefully. Trying not to get stuck/trapped...lol.
Yeah, they're both 1500's with 5.3's. I'm on stock gears and a bigger tire, he weighs more...they're pretty dead even. My tire has more rolling friction and wind resistance so once we get up to speed he pulls ever so slightly but...both stock altogether and I'll be adding headers, etc next to get some more torque.
I had a 2004 tahoe 5.3 and sold it at 370 000km got a 2004 blazer now all done out. Not as heavy duty or reliable..until.you fix the hickups but its a bit more maneuverable And better clearance. But damn do I miss the tahoe. Yours is awesome
Appreciate it. Was actually entertaining adding a blazer a while back to see how itd work out. May still do that at some.point. I'm curious how they can hold up
I use a mix of methods. Locally, I tended to use googlemaps and satellite view at first. I often would seek put trails through local offroad groups also. There are several.apps for trails but some of them are just damn bulky to sort through because they show hiking trails, ohv trails, vehicle trails, etc. I think fb groups and googlemaps has always served best.
who knows the model ranges that are capable of putting the big tow mirrors on the tahoe, im finally getting another one and will be doing a little bit of this type of driving. and what model radio is that to fir in the tahoe cubby hole
Sorry, I never saw this comment. I got them on amazon and modified them. They're angle modified (so they sit level) and wrapped in white avery gloss to match the truck.
PEOPLE DONT REALIZE CHEVY SUBURBANS DO VERY WELL OFF ROAD. A LOT OF PEOPLE LOOK WRITE PASS THEM AN DONT NO THEY WERE ONE OF THE TOP OFF ROAD SUV. A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK OFF ROADING IS WHAT YOUR DOING AN ROCK CRAWLING. THE SUBURBAN AT ONE TIME WAS KING OF THE MUD HOLES, AN PRETTY MUCH GOING OFF ROAD LIKE YOU SEE PEOPLE DO IN OTHER COUNTRIES JUST TO GO HOME. NOTHING ELSE WAS MORE MODIFIABLE THAN AN CHEVY TRUCK OR SUV JUST USING FACTORY PARTS OR SWAPPING PARTS FROM ONE TRUCK TO ANOTHER. MOVE THIS OVER MOVE THAT OVER AN IT FIT. NOW THE SUBURBAN AN TAHOE ARE WAY TO BIG THEY WANT TO COME OUT WITH AN OFF ROAD PACKAGE. IM GLAD TO SEE SOMEONE LETTING PEOPLE NO CHEVY SUV ARE OFF ROAD CAPABLE WITH JUST A LITTLE BIT OF LIFT. BESIDES THERE EVERY WERE AN THERE CHEAP.
The boy isn't an off roader by any means. He had just moved here. To be fair, the videos never do the inclines any justice, no matter how you shoot it. On video that looks like a baby hill, but in person, for a top heavy tahoe with a roof tent, it was steep steep. I have climbed it harder, but with Lace and the boy...just isn't worth pushin their boundaries, because they wont off road with me if I do...lol.
@@KnightDriveTV that's right. We're just old-school brother. Guys Givin each other shit. Much love ,and keep up the work Sir. The main thing is you gottem out on da trail. God keep yall safe.
Cool video. How many miles and gasoline gallons was this for the Suburban?
I'm building a 04 z71. Love them
I'm a easy guy, I see a z71 . I give a like
Hey, that's what I like to hear...lol.
Those rigs are some big girls! Makes my lifted WJ look slim and ultra capable! Nice work on the video!
For sure...it takes some getting used to with the bigger truck, but the comforts are nice to have for sure.

We just added another suburban to the channel. GMT800 product development is about to begin! Thanks for watching
5:30 my man was fearing for his life😂😂
Awesome video bro! Amazing how capable those boats are! Also, shout out to Josh’s chest holster!
Mine is magnetized under the dash, did you catch it...lol? Thanks man...back to full bore vids now that manufacturing is catching up.
Really cool seeing you hanging out with the family. I have a teenage girl I travel with too.
Dude - I'm totally taking my Jeeps up there, especially when it snows! I love Josh's chest-rig setup too.
Let me know if you ever want to run a trail locally

Go to GA and buy a clean rust free one and drive home. I used to drive GA to Pa with ease. Its worth it

I agree...its very capable overall. I just broke her the other day though...big vid coming...new steering and suspension
That was really cool.
I'm building an 02 model. 5.3 half ton
excellent yall. love these videos!

Cant wait to get that first camp fire lit myself. Y'all got that rescue video out of the way no need to do that again.
I'm going to do that trail soon with my Yukon
I’m here Damian don’t worry still alive
I was very worried actually...lol. Hopin that airborne booty scratch disease didn't get ya.
