- WOW I am so glad to be able to make saxophone videos again. Being without my saxophone made me realize how much I really would not rather do anything else as a career path. Hopefully I can keep all 10 of my fingers for the rest of my life. As long as I do, I think I'll always find a way to be ok.

You can see the savagery of a drummer compared to a sax player when trying to break the case
Metal resonators definitely make a difference in the tone. I had my Tenor repadded about 5 years ago maybe. And had plastic resonators used instead. Definitely lost a bit of power and ring in the tone, but nothing that hindered it too much. Glad you got it back!!

Given that I’ve had that case since my freshman year, and I’m going to be a senior (in HS) this year, it confirms that I made a valuable purchase🙏🏼 *bows down*
So happy for you that you got it back and that it plays that well! My soprano is currently with my repairer due to accidentally knocking it over, so I am really hoping it comes back in good shape.

I got my sax ( Selmer, Alto Super Action 80 ) overhauled after 30 years of playing it. It works amazing well, and the cost was about $ 900. It took about six weeks in total and I spent the time learning the harmonica of which i am pretty good on now.

I feel like a real idiot! I had a friend give me a mark 6 that was squashed by the door of a case... I thought it was a lost cause. Traded a repair guy for an old trumpet.. Huge mistake. What´s your repair dude’s name ? Looks like an incredible job, I was waiting for this video.. it’s so cool that a person blessed you like that, you’re a good kid you help so many people with their sax playing, including me. I am so happy someone did that for you, God bless them immensely.

You should get a bunch of manufacturers to send you their strongest sax case and then test them. You could drive over them and see if the sax would have survived.
