First heard this song on Live in NYC with most of the band doing a solo, and we used it at our wedding, all versions are brilliant, bring tears to my eyes.
this might be the best version i know, this and nyc reunion gotta love it as nils fan, also bruce is good in this the sound of nils '61 strat fits this very good
see - people moaned at the time about human touch/lucky town but this little gem (and others) were tucked away on those albums. thank god bruce has always had the sense to follow his instincts and not 'the crowd'.

Got to admit as much as I love Bruce Nils nails it. Really suits his voice. Why was Shine never a #1 hit. Some boy band trash will take it there. It is ripe for a cover and such a great song
I think that this version is the best...and bruce and the e street band - with the horn section - can do this version in the wrecking ball tour..after Jack fo all trades.. a song of resignation and despair (Jack) and a song of hope, love, and resistance (if i shauld).

1981 SAW THEM ALL IN LYON FRANCE. WAS 15 YO MY BROTHER PAID ME THE CONCERT TICKET. I WILL NEVER REMEMBER IT.
