For me this is the best version I've ever heard of this song. So beautifully sung in a wonderful scenery. All those different voices, but still one. Even Adam sings a bit! That is amazing. I come from a Christian family with several pastors. This song was often sung at our house. Especially my father sang it (in Dutch) with his great voice. I showed and heard this to my mother (86) a few years ago. She now regularly asks me to play it. She even once asked to be heard in church.
One of my favorites of Home Free. It’s just such a beautiful song. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps when they were touring there. Loved hearing Adam singing “it is well”. He rarely sings so it’s a treat. Love their harmonies. Exquisite! Glad you liked this one!😄🤩
This was certainly the perfect setting for this song. It was filmed in the Austrian Alps. A beautiful setting for for our guys to deliver such a respectful and uplifting rendition of this church classic.
I think this is one of the best versions of this song. Tim Foust's bass really carries the song. I found Home Free 3 years ago & love these 5 talented guys. Their harmonies are the best in the business. This is one of the few songs where you get to hear Adam Rupp's (beatboxer) sweet tenor voice during "It Is Well". And the scenery is awesome filmed in the beautiful Austrian Alps (my dad came from that area).
Home Free From the Vault episode 8 gave us a behind the scenes glimpse of the guys' shenanigans. And you get more of the beautiful view of the Alps. You might want to do reactions of their From the Vault series. All 23 of them are a joy to watch.
This was filmed in Austria, which is a very beautiful country and home of my ancestors. HomeFree took this to another level for me with their beautiful harmonies. We even had a rare glimpse of Adam Rupps fabulous vocals. Don't know if you heard but Austin will be leaving the group by the end of this year. A great loss but he is so talented that I know he'll do just fine. HomeFree are looking for an additional member. Some big shoes to fill. Thanks for your honesty about this song. This song is my HomeFree favorite. ❤🥰
First of all...never apologize for telling about something that has affected your "heart," whether it's in a bad or good way. I love that you shared what you did. On the other hand, I'm really glad that at least you could sit through another listen to Home Free's version. I have felt that way about quite a few of their songs. I feel the same way about Dan Vasc's library, as well. With HF and Dan, both -- even though music has been my LIFE...and still is -- I've learned a lot, within and through songs that I really had not cared for in the past. As you mentioned, part of it is the musicality from the artists--so wonderful, in both cases. This particular video was shot (photographed completely by a drone) while Home Free was on tour in Europe. It was in the Austrian Alps. I spent a couple of weeks a few summers back, pinpointing the area with that church in it. All of the photos of that area are just gorgeous! Thank you for your wonderful reaction, that (to me, at least) is worth even more than usual, because you shared your history with the song. GRANDMA HUGS!
So beautiful. I love we get to hear Adam's sweet voice ( the beatboxer) . It seems sinple until you really pay attention to the sounds in the background. They have a " From the Vault " behind the scenes video of the making of this music video that you might like reacting to. The scenery itself is worth it. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.
I know what you mean, especially about Elvis. He rubs me the wrong way, BUT hearing HF sing this, it's mesmerizing. On that note, Pentatonix does a cover of Can't Help Falling In Love...that is the only version I will ever listen to now! Nice comments, thank you for your honesty.
I'm glad you managed to get to the point that you could listen to it again. That is high praise for a song you don't like! Okay, now I am challenging you to listen to a cover of "Hey Ya" by Avriel and the Sequoias (Avi fornerly of Pentatonix) - since we are doing the "I hate that song" journey.
I've heard this thousands of times and probably nearly the same number of ways -- EPs version ...... Hearing this the 1st time (and many others after!) really hit with emotion, HF brought out what it was meant to be! They do have that tendency to change a song/melody ... and I love it!!! Be Safe
I love this song, the problem is that it has a lot of note jumps, and a lot of singers slur up or down, where Home Free is very good at hitting notes perfectly and singing the words with perfect diction. That's what makes me happy to listen to their version many times, where I might not to be able to watch some of the other artists.
This hymn definitely makes me emotional--Home Free's version is my very favorite version of all the many, many I have heard 😍 Besides the unbelievable 5-part harmony--and gorgeous backdrop of the Austrian Alps--getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is a real treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ #HomeFree #AdamRuppSinging
If you knew the One about whom the song is written, you'd love it. He is our Father, our Creator, our Friend. No one will ever love you more than He does.
Actually (and I've known and loved the ONE, my entire life), not every Christian loves every single hymn or chorus. In fact there are quite a few that I don't care for at all -- because I listen carefully for the words -- are they actually scriptural, for instance...some aren't. Also, are they truly "musical." Some aren't. Dazza didn't say a single word about whether or not he is a believer. I wouldn't presume to say, one way or the other. That's his business, and God's. I appreciated hearing what he had to say, from his heart, and the fact that he did this reaction for US. What a blessing! 😀
There's a Behind The Scenes video for this video! The video is beautiful, but they helped carry all their equipment up that beautiful hill in the Australian Alps which was a massive chore! 😊
Hymns are definitely not my jam, but the first time I saw this it brought me to tears. An amazing arrangement by Darren Rust. And a master class in 5-part harmony. I know what you mean about just not responding well to a song without really knowing why. For me it's Hey Jude. Just cannot listen to that.
By the way ... they INCORPORATE The Hymnal Favorite = " IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL" into this wonderful classic "How Great Thou Art" .... and it is seamless and beautifully harmonized so as to be missed by those not knowing the song. GBjj
One of my introductory songs of Home Free. This song has always been a family favorite since my childhood. It is a Swedish hymn, our family, of course came from Sweden. Its all what we know. I appreciate that you took this on regardless of your apprehensive feelings to the renditions youve known. Nice job.
How Great Thou Art is an INCREDIBLE song of praise and faith in the one that put us here ... wants us to come up when we are through with physical life on earth .... know how absurd it sounded to those of us loving the Lord when you said you did not 'like it" ..... otherwise pretty good job in delivering the best vocal group singing this .... kudos, Home Free. GBjj
This goes back to 1885. They do a great rendition of this song. Wonderful harmonies. You are entitled to your opinion. Not everybody likes the same thing. This is the Austrian Alps. The same area where they filmed the opening scene from the movie "The Sound of Music".
I understand what you mean when you say that certain songs are not your favourite, and appreciate your honesty. There are songs I don't like (not Home Free), but I can appreciate the singing and talent of the artist. I am not a Christian so this has no spiritual meaning to me, but wow, their singing gives me chills when I hear this song.
My favorites do you hear what I hear and Mary did you know or children go where I send thee with Kenny Rogers you can’t go wrong with home free they do great collabs also… the beatboxer songs in this one❤❤❤❤ welcome to the rabbit hole
You just experienced what we call the ‘HF curse’. That’s when HF does a song you don’t like & turn it into something that you might listen to again. In my case, I thoroughly dislike American Pie. I used to live in southern Florida & listened to a station that served as a test station for new songs to see if they were popular enough to release nationwide. American Pie was played ALOT! I used to call it the ‘cigarette song’ because I thought the dj played it so he could go outside, smoke, and be back before the song ended. I used to get so frustrated, I would turn off the radio! HF version is an improvement, but like you said, I won’t put it on my playlist.
I know how you feel; I'm a fan of Home Free but they have done songs that I never liked (End of the Road, Delta Dawn). At least their versions are the best/the least annoying! They got me, though, with My Church. THAT is a great HF upgrade to now-a-favorite.
I may start an issue, but Elvis was my older siblings artist and I did not like when he overly accented some notes. I get having to listen to a non-favorite song over and over and over. It's okay to not like something that irritates you. Different strokes for different folks.😊
this is such a master class in 5-part harmony. And there is no grandstanding, just 5 lovely voices offering up a prayerful sound.
HOMEFREE did an awesomejobwith this song, harmony is exquisite.❤❤❤
I get it, not everybody likes every song, but you gotta admit the harmonies are glorious!

#HOMEFREE...best version ever!
This is the best version I have ever heard.
My fathers favorite hymn. This was one of the songs sang at his funeral. This version by HF

The harmonies here are some of the best I've ever heard. I understand where you are coming from though. I cannot stomach any rap music.

Austrian. Not Australian. Wrong continent-lol!

This was done in Austria! My grandparents homeland. ♥️
Filmed in Austria I think.

Home Free made me like this song. Best version ever!
They just released a remake of Ring Of Fire

Don't worry, we all have a song by a specific artist that we hate. for me it is "Puttin on the Ritz" by Taco.
These are the Austrian Alps near Innsbruck.

Those mountains are the Austrian Alps.
They filmed this in Austria

Agreed.
Except it was my Dad who was the big fan and saw Elvis perform in the 1950's in Vancouver.
Austin brown is leaving home free
