Wait after releasing the other Hafgufa, watching them singing the song of sands, start from 18:13, did it just mean they have finished mating and proceeded to give in their life to their newborns? if so, damn I am deeply touched 😭😭😭
From the conversations about them, it seems they have to give their light source, which keeps them alive, to their offspring so they can survive. It's really bittersweet in the end for the hafgufas parents, but at least their offsprings can live freely.

@Bully maguire maybe he does die in Ragnarok, but then is revived in valhalla. So he destroys the army odin has, finds atreus, beats up thor a bit, and we get to the finale.
Yes I fully agree. I loved the game very much, but some sections did feel rushed. The climax being one of them. I get the technical reasons they didn't want to make the Norse era a trilogy. But they really should have.
Freya's not exactly weak. Before getting weakened by Fimbulwinter she was powerful enough to overcome Thor and Odin simultaneously when she kicked them out of Jountenjeim, and don't forget she had to save Kratos and Atreus from Odin.
I mean… there’s a reason Mimir has acknowledged Freya as being Odin’s deadliest enemy. She’s the most powerful of the Vanir AND is the true Valkyrie Queen. Freya’s no slouch.
