    At this point of the campaign, Liam had recently lost his mother to cancer, and was doing his best to carry on. He has mentioned that getting the killing blow on Thordak, who killed Vax's mother was a cathartic experience, like he had defeated the cancer that plagued his mother.

    In the campaign, Keyleth never trusted Raishan and she (and Vax) unilaterally broke their alliance with Raishan the moment Thordak was out of the picture, which made it less cut and dry whether she was going to betray them or not; here her ill intent is more clear and Keyleth gets to be more rational and reasonable. Like, Raishan has always been sus, but I think the intention is that we are supposed to side with Kiki and not, y'know, the chaotic evil death-lizard.

      Matt did say on Reddit that it was intentional. But in the context of the story and not in the meta sense it was still vax and keyleth that did the ‘betraying’. Raishan certainly would have if she got the chance though. I don’t know how I feel about what they’ve done with raishan here. Her goal was still to kill thordak and she needed them to help so why would she hinder them with the blocked off passage? Maybe she needed him out of his lair to be able to get the body because: magic? I don’t really know.
      In the context of keyleth I get where this is coming from, it’s good character development for her to have more trust in her instincts and if raishan didn’t ever do anything against them then she would have nothing to learn.

    And I actually like that it only took ONE moment of doubt in Keyleth’s own instincts for her to drop her guard and almost die. And it proves that she was right to never trust her to begin with. And now she’s pissed that Raishan got away, all because she second-guessed herself.
    So yeah, Raishan is going to be the final boss of Season 3, and I hope it’s Keyleth that finishes her.

It’s her healing her friends and taking on these threats. Maybe the lesson isn’t you don’t need your god but instead you aren’t nothing without your god. In the first season we saw the everlight say any path is righteous if walked with conviction and truth. Maybe there is some truth Pime is still refusing to face like she doesn’t need the everlight to be worthy of power and to help her friends? Idk just spit balling.

    Kash! Poor boy done dirty, he survived in the campaign! Seems they had to show Vax someone passing on with the Matron.
    But Thordak falls, technically Vax's kill is the only kill that has the same killer in the show and the table; Vax killed Brimscythe, Vex killed Vorugal and Grog killed Umbrasyl on the table but in the show Grog kills Brimscythe, Vorugal died from Vex/Keyleth's combo and Kima's eye crush but it's mainly Keyleth's thorns that finishes it, and Umbrasyl was killed by Scanlan.

    Hmm, so in regards to Pike and her 'casting aside her Faith', are we sure she's operating without Divine intervention now? I have a bit of a theory that Xerxes pushed Pike towards apostasy because the Whispered One may have specific designs for Pike... and Pike's the only character that has had direct, albeit brief, interaction with it (back in season 1 during her communion with the Everlight, she met him in that dark dreamscape void she goes to)
    My personal theory is that the Whispered One somehow made a very subtle connection with her, but her faith in the Everlight kept it from doing anything... then all of a sudden you have Xerxes who goes out of his way to shake her faith while basically telling her to 'put faith in herself'. She's starting to do that, using her blood (likely she has some kind of aaismar or celestial heritage), but her divine power may very well still be coming from a god... but not the god she might think.
    Also remember that Xerxes gave her 'his symbol' ostensibly to let them get out of Dis... but that wasn't Xerxes symbol at all, nor was it a symbol of Asmodeus/Lord of Torment... it was The Whispered One's symbol (the same one Delilah carved into her skin during her ritual to bring back Sylas in their backstory and to summon the Whispered One during the climax of season 1)
    The Whispered One (Vecna officially but can't be used due to copyright bs) is a God of undeath and necromancy... but also Secrets and Deception. So wouldn't it be interesting if Pike's arc could be something to do with this?
    I could, of course, be completely wrong... but it seems odd that only Pike so far has had anything directly to do with The Whispered One thus far

    • @VBane
      @VBane Час назад

      My theory is that Pike is a descendant to a certain character from Downfall, which is why her blood and soul are so special and interesting to Xerkses both as Asmodeus's champion and a disciple of Vecna.

    • @DelightfullyMADD
      @DelightfullyMADD 56 минут назад

      @@VBane That would definitely work to. Either way, given that Pike didn't really get an "arc" in the actual campaign, they definitely seem to be building something, and it's not a coincidence that Pike briefly met The Whispered One, has 'special blood', and was specifically targeted by Xerxes to shake her faith after she was warned by the Everlight that her purity would be used for wicked ends. Regardless of what the actual source of her heritage is... yes that makes her of great interest to The Whispered One and their followers
      And, as far as I know, Pike never discarded Xerxes "symbol" that he gave her, which again is very obviously the same symbol Delilah used during various rituals. It's not Xerxes' symbol as far as I can tell, and it's certainly not Asmodeus' symbol, and we know Xerxes seems to have become a follower of the Whispered One... so my guess is that because Pike has some kind of access or connection to the plane the Whispered One is trapped in... she'll be the conduit for his return in some fashion... but they had to break her faith in order to make that happen, and now they've successfully done just that with Pike first being willing to set aside her faith for her friends (back in episode 4 where she offered her faith in order to play Xerxes again... he didn't accept it, but he didn't need to because her willingness to give it up was already enough), and now in this episode where she actively tore the Everlight's symbol off and threw it aside... yeah, Pike's still gonna have cleric powers, but my guess is that they'll still be supplied by a god, just a different god... and she'll be led to believe it's all just her own power... Vecna is all about secrets after all, and what better agent than an agent who doesn't even realize what they are?

    19:30 betray? Ehh. Their shared enemy is dead, the pact over. Its very Kiki to assume that means they are still on the same side. Raishan is in it for Raishan and Vox Machina did their parts and can now be discarded. She is a green dragon, those are the smart scheming type - honestly she has stuck stronger to the pact/stuck herself out more than I expected.
    There is a cool little detail in the campaign, dont remember which fight but Raishan and VM were in the same battle against one of the other Dragons, Raishan cast chain lighting (a spell jumping between enemies by spellcasters definition - iE friendly fire off) - and HIT VM MEMBERS after the spell bounced off the main target. And I always felt that was a great moment of characterization. In that moment they werent actively enemies, but both sides pretty much knew they would turn against each other after Thordak was gone, so if Raishan could have a plausible deniability moment of hurting a future enemy she would do it. Oops sorry VM magis is magic and that spell is supposed to bounce, what can you do?

      With how Ripley got even more scheming and dangerous in TLOVM I kind of really want her and Raishan to meet. Both would try to manipulate the other for her own gains. They could either be the most dangerous team or lethal enemies, depending on how their goals align, but them fencing verbally would be amazingly entertaining.

    Man, vax yelling out thordak name and kash death scene gave me chills, R.I.P kash. Scanlan hit the ground since grog is a barbarian he could take it but scanlan is not 😢. I took pike throwing her everlight pendant as she’s not throwing it out of losing her faith quite opposite is she is throwing it because she has faith imo

      It's more about Bard vs Barbarian then it is Gnome vs Goliath. If Scanlan was a barbarian gnome and Grog was a bard goliath it would be Grog in a coma not Scanlan.
      Hit points in D&D are based on class not race.

    Again while I love this show, why did Pike have to throw away the Everlight? Oh wait its because they had to make Pike into a “badass” when she still could have been one with the Everlight.

    Im very sad they kill kash but i get it, diferent from the campaing everbody is fair game specially NPC or PC that arent super important to the story, even Zahra just has some litle appearances play by Matt. dont get me wrong i hope the dont start killing every side character in the show or in the future M9 show, but again make sense to use this character this way

    I don't like the ending. Why does Raishan just suddenly go "bwhahaha, turns out I'm evil". She didn't do anything other than take Thordak. She didn't have to "reveal" anything. Even could have just said "I'm taking Thordak to try and cure myself, bye", and no one would care. But instead she has to paint a big target on herself to the people who killed 4 dragons now. I guess she's just really stupid.

      I think she realized that Keyleth was still going to be a threat to her. Partially because she knows Keyleth will never forgive her for the people of Pyrah who died. Partially because Keyleth was smart enough not to ever fully trust her.
      Raishan took a chance to eliminate a future threat. Perhaps, if Keyleth hadn't gone alone to apologize, Raishan would have been more cagey.
