Yes. It destroys the gambler& everyone around the gambler financially. And when they want money to gamble, will lie, cheat, steal, & go into deep debt, in order to get it. They emotionally abuse family members & use intimidation tactics, destroying everyone else's finances, in their paths. If you ever meet a gambling addict run in the opposite direction. I'm sorry I didn't.

The first time I went broke from gambling made me quit, after saving up and getting back on my feet for 2 years. I had some extra money went back and approaching being broke again. This time around gonna need to stick to staying away cuz this cycle is vicious unrelenting and not only financially devastating but truthfully physically and mentally destructive. Mentally the dopamine spikes ruin the brain and physically it leads to loss of motivation which in turn causes laziness and body neglect.

Calling into work because you don't have the gas money to get there, trespassing to go gamble because you signed yourself off twice already. This list goes on and on

So I save at least 2k a month on average total to at least 24k a year in savings. Just do it for 3 months and don’t think about gambling. I know it’s tempting to want and know u can make 500 dollars easily gambling a day, but the more u play the likelihood of u losing is higher. I just think to myself y would I bring 2k to the casino to try and win 500 dollars so I’m risking 2k for 500 dollars which isn’t really smart. So y would I give the casino 24k when I can use that money for myself. Just don’t gamble for 3 months and see how much u can save. Let me put it this way... As a person who has been addicted to drugs, and gambling... You have the better of both worlds. There is no physical addiction, its all mental. I used to spend more than half of my paycheck on lottery...scratch offs and powerball. Also some casino. What made me stop is when my car broke down and I needed $1,000 to fix it and had basically nothing. After that everytime I went to the lotto machine I thought about if I wanna have losing lottery ticket.... Or gas in my car. Everytime you goto gamble just think, its money your possibly losing when if you simply save the money... That's better. Would you rather eat? Pay bills? Take care of yourself... Or take a risk that could leave you empty pocketed.

I'm sure alcoholics think there are too many bars, smokers think cigarettes are too available, and those who deal with their problems by over-eating think there is too much fast food around. If you think that controlling your external environment is going to solve your problem, you're wrong. The control must come from within you. Part of the problem with addicts is they blame everyone and everything except themselves for their problem. This is probably the most noticeable personality trait of an addict of any kind.

It's interesting how Vegas has transitioned over the past 30 years. When it was a Nevada only novelty, gambling was the primary focus and the city made so much money off the addicted, problem gambler. Nowadays, Vegas relies much more on glitz, expensive restaurants and hotels and entertainment. The problem gamblers doesn't make it out there as much because they're losing all their money at the local casinos.

Gambling. Because I am both and recovering. Both for me went hand in hand. I was deceitful, manipulative, a compulsive liar, I hid it so well. With Alcohol, it only goes for so long before you start seeing the physical signs a d trying to hide bottles, being drunk, people see that. With Gambling, there are no hiding bottles, there's no being drunk, it's all psychological and truth speaking I would rather be an alcoholic than a gambler. Even as an alcoholic, I hide Gambling so well, like all addictions, I didn't believe I had a problem. As soon as I came clean about my gambling, the lies, the manipulation, the deceit, how I treated all my friends/family, and years of lies was a lot worse than the fall out from my Alcohol addiction. But I am in recovery, and I haven't gambled or taken any alcohol in 3 years. I still go to support groups and I thank the Lord every day for the people around me. My love to you all from Ireland 🇮🇪

People start gambling just because to try it out (with knowledge of other people saying it's bad) they start low bets ,, but out of curiosity they make bigger bets ,, then as time goes on they gather up losses , the only way to time efficient make that money back would be to make even larger bets and so on ...(furthering the losses and furthering the increase of bet needed to make up for that loss). The times i went to gambling that i spent least was when i was "happy" and the time i spent the most was when i was "sad/angry/ stressed" . So basically if i want to lessen my losses in Casino gambling the answer would is to be happy (and i'm trying to apply this to everything in my life outside the Casino as this isn't a "gambling habit" ,, it's my habit) ...

I have never had to deal with a gambling addiction, thank God. I did go to casinos at Atlantic City, and I did play a few games, but I didn't win anything, of course. I knew when to get up and walk away. That is the key, knowing when to stop. Gambling addiction is no different from an invisible person; it just grabs your money if you let it.

When you walk into a casino you have to know it's all on their side you're only going to walk out with what they allow you to walk out with and if by chance you happen to win more than what they are comfortable with they will probably tell you not to come to that casino again.
