    Ground Beef Stroganoff
For over 60 years Keystone Meats has been producing quality all natural lean meats without artificial ingredients. Utilizing only meat and sea salt in their canned meats. They are right up the road in Lima, Ohio from where I grew up in Wapakoneta. Theirs is a product that everyone should have in their pantry. Not only for good food preparation, but also to utilize when you are in a hurry and need a quick meal after a long day.
They not only have a great line of canned meats which they source locally, they also have a retail store where their skilled butchers cut steaks, roasts, and ground beef from our locally sourced cattle. They also provide a full line of beef and pork products to restaurants and grocery stores throughout Ohio. There's is a quality product and one you should try. Let me know what you think about this version and y'all enjoy.

Keystone ground beef is the unicorn of can meats. It's so hard to find on store shelves 😂. It must be that good so I ordered the last two cans Amazon had in stock 😅. Hope keystone can ramp up production cause their is a huge need for their products. I get to try the ground beef tomorrow when it's delivered.hope it's worth the price tag of $10 a can 😵‍💫

Nothing wrong with canned meat! So glad you got a sponsor! I make a sandwich spread with canned chicken. I just add celery to bulk it up and some Mayo. Put your own twist on it. We eat it on a toasted English muffin than top with a slice of tomato. My family loves it! Love stroganoff from scratch, thank you for sharing Greg!!

Double check your cans. Keystone only uses meat and sea salt. None have water added. What you are seeing in the cans are the natural juices from the meat.

Keystone is top notch meat. I do have a lot of the 28oz cans, but I live by myself, they are too big for my regular use. I like the 14oz better for regular use, just got more today. They put a LOT of meat in both size cans, and it is so tender.

I bought the regular beef. 1st. Not opened. Bought last fall direct from Keystone. UPS. Now, Walmart just throes their stock around too much. Do not want dented cans. This is expensive meat. I bought the 24. 15 1/2 oz. Cans for just 1 person. Me. I also plan to have this for unprepared family. Son, gdkids ,and a great grandchild on the way. Ordering the beef and chicken tomorrow. 4/11/24. I have bought e everthing in cans. As long as not dented, bulging, they can last 100 yrs. Yes, metal of all cans thinner now. But, trying to keep cool😂. DFW, TX HERE. No, I am not renting climate controlled storage. Remember, it is only a secret if 1 person knows. They would have access to unit. On SS. At, 78 doing what I can. My son and new daughter in law, think I am nuts. They will be 50 this yr. I was reared in military. Dad career. In 50'S and 60'S. Life different. But, I do have butter and eggs and a couple of other #10 cans from MPS. Just add water. This is the big problem everywhere. If on property, need creek and well dug. That costs. Appalachian Homestead with Patara ordered last yr a woodburning Cookstown. TOOK 6 mo to get. She said it will run you out of house. She is in East TN. Great info. She has videos about Keystone Meats. Plants everything and cans. Learned from great gdmother, grdmother and mother and, gas Cherokee heritage. Knows a lot about certain plants. No, she is not a Dr. She will tell you what simple things can be used for. She has a degree in Animal husbandry. Since , this gentleman has moved there, she is getting tons of Morrell mushrooms now. Evidently, the people leaving CA. , NY AND OTHERS ALL MOVING TO TN AND TX. UH, TX IS FULL....NOT GOOD.
GREAT VIDEO. KEEP COOKING. PRAYING FOR KEYSTONE COMPANY TO BE ABLE TO STAY IN BUSINESS. WE HAVE A BUTCHER FAMILY FRIEND. HE SMOKES A LIT IF MEAT. VACCUUM SEALS. GOOD FOR ONLY 2 YRS. VACUUMED SEALED. BUT, HAS ALL KINDS OF SAUSAGE PRODUCTS. USED TO PROCESS DEER, BUT STOPPED. HE WAS MY SON'S MENTOR IN A LOGISTICS COMPANY. BOTH OUT. SO. BON APPÉTIT. LOVED JULIA CHILD ON PBS.😊

Hi Greg! Keystone does add salt to the beef, just thought you should know. It’s not listed as an ingredient, but it is listed if you look at the daily requirements. I can my meats with no salt due to a sodium restrictions for a family member. We just add salt at the table. Beef stroganoff looks yummy. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!

I just canned mushrooms for the first time. This would be a good recipe to try them with. I do can meats of all kinds but also have Keystone & others. All I can find of theirs is beef, pork, & I think chicken. Since they are relatively close, I thought I'd be able to find all here at WM. Many Blessings from Deborah in West Virginia!

Watch for dented cans. They do not front any more. They just throw cases of cans around and cause dents. I ordered direct from them. I lived in Tampa in 50'S. Dad career military. Now 58 yrs in TX. HOT. NOT HUMID LIKE FL. I AM IN DFW IN NE, TX AT TOP. HOUSTON WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY. HUMID TO THE NTH DEGREE. YOU COULD NOT PAY ME ANY AMT. OF MONEY TO LEAVE DFW METROPLEX. 8 MILLION IN DALLAS COUNTY WHERE I AM IN SUBURB. THE SHIPPING IS WORTH THE PRICE. 😊

i made tacos with the keystone ground beef melting a can of bega cheese (shelf stable 5 ish years from new zeland i think) did use the packet of seasoning from store and store bought tortillas but i do know how to make taco seasoning and tortillas just alot of extra work. it was not top tier but it was decent though took me 2.5 days to eat all of it. i did also add sour cream and taco sauce to the final taco but no additional cheese. much better with fresh ground beef and fresh shredded cheese but post apoc it would taste like a 5 star Mexican restaraunt after months of eating boring prepper meals it would be a nice moral boosting comfort meal.
will have to try this recipe out as i always like Beef Stroganoff. wish they had a can of pork sausage too for making biscuits and gravy since i got number 10 cans of biscuit mix already. prolly have to get freeze dried sausage crumbles which is rather expensive lol.

    • @cheryl_345

@@cheryl_345 i got like 20 pouches of the mountain house biscuit and gravy. bit on the salty side being freeze dried was is actually decent.
i tend to grab 1-2 pouches per month something like 100 total pouches atm. as well as a few number 10 cans including one that has biscuit mix powder just add water, another that is pancake mix.
though i can prolly get away with the high salt content, i am one of those people who salts anything savory to a point where people are always like "have some food with your salt" lol. yet still blood labs show my sodium levels to be quite low. so either my body uses salt like crazy or i lose salt faster in some way. likely why i crave it so much body saying i need more.

Greg said they add water and there is no salt. That is not correct. Keystone meat does not add water but they do add salt. The only two ingredients are the meat and sea salt. Any liquid in the can was produced from the meat when it was canned.
