Always use gravity to help you unbox, to get boxes out of boxes, styrofoam out of boxes and trains out of styrofoam, depending on how they are packaged, and you won't tear the packing up. The Lionel outer carton is part of the collectable packing so needs to be opened with care. Don't crumple wrappings! Don't throw away wrappings. I recommend photographing the way it's packed as you go so it can be put back in the box the way it came out. Gloves are a good thing to wear when unboxing. A foam locomotive cradle is a good thing to use to remove the styrofoam from under the wheels. Good video.
Ironically I ordered a FEF off Train world about a month or so ago....in HO....from BLI. I absolutely love it. Also in Greyhound. Its not 844 (836 Actually). Fantastic looking locomotive.
I usually buy from Charles Ro. RO ships the Lionel cardboard boxes. They get beaten up so bad the inner-lionel boxes are almost always beaten up. Trainworld's "box within a sturdy box" system looks great.
Very nice! The 844 is a beautiful locomotive. I like the Greyhound paint scheme, but it looks even better heading a big, streamlined passenger train. Your basement looks fairly big and it seems like you could build wider curves. I'm just curious. Either way, it's a nice layout. An excellent video, as always.
Lionel and others who have moved everything to O72 is really keeping their numbers down. That is just un doable for so many. They will learn as preorders are way down.

Nice video! I received my FEF today and am hearing some rattling in the tender/speakers when I blow the big boy whistle. Thought I heard the same in yours when you were running through the whistles. Did you notice anything off with the sound?

no speaker dont rattle only speak rattles it my gbw rs-27 you can send it back to store get it fixed
My marker lights are not working either, I did a master reset and they flicked and now don’t work. Just sent mine back to my dealer

i haven’t had that problem dose it turn off when engine start moving or no?
