Soldered a USB-A connector on one end which connects to a mains powered phone charger. Soldered a USB-C connector on the other end which connects to the Nuki pro battery pack. Moving to a proprietary lock is unacceptable. Not having a connector for a hidden full-time mains charger is a retrograde step. I’ll wait for the Ultra 2 to fix these problems.

The new Nuki sounds great. I do have a few questions regarding the including keys: How many keys will be shipped inside the box? If I wish to duplicate the key, will it be possible using card only? Will it be possible to duplicate the key at every locksmith or will it there be special locations where only there it can be done?
Thanks for the kind words! 😊 The Nuki Ultra comes with 3 keys, and if you need duplicates, you can order them through the M&C shop using the security card included in the box. Most locksmiths should be able to help, so no worries there. We hope this helps!

HI. No not possible to use without Nuki cylinder or theoretically, it is possible to do it, but it will be complicated and especially it would not be possible to do it with everything. The motor is mounted on the gear wheel and this would have to be either 3D printed or milled, and it would also be necessary to adjust the key or adjust the cylinder with the thumbturn. Nothing easy, but possible for a person with the necessary equipment.
I assume the custom cylinder is to get the size down - no need for clamping mechanisms or space to fit thumbturns inside it. But the flipside of that is people can’t use the same key around the house, and while you say its universal I would expect many will have issues depending on thickness of door but also thickness of handle and front/back ratio. Hopefully its flexible enough - and secure enough

I want to buy one for my place. Unfortunately, I see a few compromises (the need to change the cylinder and no tap to unlock support). Though I am willing to change my cylinder, the tap to unlock function is definitely a drawback. You see, it's not the function itself, but the fact that you're required to approach the door with your phone/smartwatch to open it. It gives you a sense of command and additional security. The point is: there is a fine line between full automation and automated control. Because it's the main entrance to your house, there is reassurance in the act of "tapping to unlock". Why are there only 3 keys for the Nuki Universal Cylinder with the Nuki Ultra? I need 5 here, just like the single set of the Nuki Universal Cylinder comes with. Can I order 2 more keys for free, e.g. with a voucher? There are also 5 security keys in circulation for my old Nuki and the single set also has 5 keys in the Nuki Shop. It would be nice to find a solution before the sales start.
why do you need 5 keys if you have a Smart Lock on your door? The thing unlocks your door without keys. I'm using Nukis since 2019 and I've never unlocked my door with a physical key since then. If you want to let somebody else in, invite them to the smart lock. or get a keypad and give them a code
I have 5 keys in use for the old cylinder with Nuki Pro and the single cylinder from NUKI Shop also has 5 keys. I would like to keep my current state with the number of keys and switch to the Nuki Ultra.
Similarly, since Nuki Ultra is shipped with a new and improved Universal Cylinder, it is not compatible with older Universal Cylinders. --- I have 2 old Universal Cylinders in my door == means I would need to bring more money to replace both of them :( no point
and I dont see a noticeable difference between each other, looks like a lot of compromises, since it's already a smart door lock with keypad with thread + matter with less than 300$. So its not deliverable with cylinder, but its fully compatible with Nuki Universal Cylinders. Hope Nuki will understand our points, UWB is comming to smart home, and NUKI MUST WORK before other vendors implement and certified it, since Nuki does not looks compatible with other looks anymore (( BTW I ordered Universal Cylinders a couple of days ago and looks like I have to return it ;(
349€ just for the lock? for about 130€ less I can get an Aqara U200 with Keypad, Homekey and it hat a rechargeable, REPLACABLE battery with a standard USB-C Charging plug, Honestly...I liked my Nuki 2, 3 Pro and 4 Pro and the 2.0 KeyPad....but price and value are not in sync anymore. I get that Nuki is a premium product and they cost more....but the one to beat at the market currently is Aqara. Comparing with the U200 I have to get the KeyPad 2.0 extra so it's another 159€ and the Aqara still has more functionality. So roughly 510€ for a keypad and a lock......I can get two U200 for that price. Sorry Nuki but you lost me there.....I want more functionality....then I'm willing to pay more to get a Nuki. But no Homekey or UWB is a dealbreaker for me
aqara u200 is probably a bit cheaper but it looks very ugly😅 as well the aqara keypad, is very big compared to the nuki keypad 2.0 tested both of them and my decision was still nuki👍
There are multiple issues that I have with Aqara. • First and foremost it's a Chinese company where the state is invested, which raises significant privacy concerns. • Apple requires that the Keypad and the Smart Lock need to be sold and "tied" together to be eligible for Home Keys. So you always have to use the Keypad, which also functions as a "brain" for the Smart Lock to work. I would rather not have the intelligence on the outside of my house to be honest. • I honestly don’t get the fascination with Apple Home Key. If you already have a fingerprint sensor, why would you even need it? It seems like a less convenient option to me. • UWB requires large antennas and a proper API from Apple, which currently doesn’t exist. I think Nuki made the right call by waiting for the Aliro standard instead of rushing into UWB support. • The design. Aqara is bulky and ugly. While the Aqara might seem like a good value on paper, these factors are significant dealbreakers for me. I’d rather pay a premium for a product like Nuki that prioritizes privacy, design, and a more thoughtful feature set.
They should really work on their delivery for pro installers. It takes a very very long time for orders to get shipped... Lost 2 customers in the last 4 months to this problem.
Looks lovely. Now it would be ideal if your servers were accessible over IPv6, eliminating the need for NAT64 on the border router. This is important because Amazon Echo doesn't support NAT64!
Using Amazon Echo for anything important isn't a great idea anyway imo, it's sooo laggy and generally crap. I just use the Echo for voice commands that then run 'scripts' on devices like Homey and Home Assistant.
Is it compatible with other 2-way cylinders? Because if not, it's a big no.. And if yes, will there be a 99Euro cheaper variant without Nuki cylinder (since the one provided by Nuki is marketed on 99Euros)? I don' think anyone reasonable is going to "lock" himself to a remote cylinder vendor, as that not only means you have to buy cylinders from Nuki for all your house if you want same key everywhere, but can also cause troubles when you loose keys - not all vendors can make new spare keys for all cylinders.
@@ouriel Hey The magnetic charging cable is 2 meters long, in case you have a power outlet in that range. If not, you can also easily take your Ultra off the door and charge it fully in around 2 hours.
@NukiSmartLock 1) the cylinder included is not supported 30-60 !!!! (yes it's in european data list of size) (except if you buy an adaptator 60 euros) So this cylinder wouldn'be sold with the lock in my mind 2) the lock do NOT match with door with lock with quarter turn to open (verified (installed and a lot of nuki support) because not enough strong. Maybe does they fixed this ? How can we be sure ? 3) the Nuki Keypad 2 is really in sincerely too expensive (159 euros). 79 euros maximum would be the correct and understandable price.
Just bought the new key ultra was told it would be with me within five days took nearly 2 weeks. No videos in English available whatsoever to help with installation . Called Nuki support to ask questions regarding the lock and got no help whatsoever in fact I was appalled by their service. Would help if someone could recommend what door handle lever et cetera would work with this as the one I’ve got is incompatible and I have no idea what one to use and where I can get it from. I did ask this from new key support as well I was told they don’t sell them. That’s my problem Like I said diabolical customer service. I also asked how to migrate my keypad to the new lock. No one on Support knew how to do this. In fact they said it wasn’t possible yet there are videos that say that it is again come on Nuki don’t sell something before you’re ready for like I’ve wasted a lot of money here for a lock. It is now sat there doing nothing because it can’t be installed.

I was so excited to see to a new small design and the improved speed. Until I recognized its needs a new cylinder. Since I have one key for my door, mailbox and storage room, this means to have an additional key on my keyring. Also NFC is missing, although this is not a real problem, but would be nice. Summary for me, since I don't want to carry an additional key, it will be a no buy, which is really sad.

Martin Pansy ... For Nuki Smart Lock Ultra only battery has some compromise. For that price you should replace the actual battery 2200 mAh Li Po with 3200 mAh and smart lock will keep in function more that 2 months, 7 months. It was not a good ideea to put a small battery inside the mechanism and motor! Many users it will be dissapointed with only 4-5 months autonomy with insane and standard motor speed, instead of 6-7 months!. For next Nuki Smartlock Ultra 2, you should add an compartment down to mechanism - motor and add a special Li Po 5V 3400 mAh. I dont believe that nuki mart lock can run 6 months with insane set.

I am very disappointed with my experience with the Nuki Smart Lock and your customer service. My lock turned off Bluetooth while the battery was at 100%, leaving me locked outside. Yes, the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra is compatible with the Nuki Opener. This combination allows you to control both your door lock and intercom system via the Nuki app, providing seamless access management. We hope this helps.😊
@@NukiSmartLock thank you so much !
Waiting for Apple Home key support.
Very good Smart Lock. But, please make Keypad 3.0 Apple Homekeys PLEASE.
Thanks for the feedback! We know Apple HomeKey is highly requested, and while it's not available, we’re part of the Aliro initiative and plan to bring NFC "tap to unlock" in 2025. Stay tuned for future updates! 😊
Excited for the lock. But using ‘insane’ as a name for a mode is a bit dated.
Similarly, since Nuki Ultra is shipped with a new and improved Universal Cylinder, it is not compatible with older Universal Cylinders.
---
I have 2 old Universal Cylinders in my door == means I would need to bring more money to replace both of them :( no point
and I dont see a noticeable difference between each other, looks like a lot of compromises, since it's already a smart door lock with keypad with thread + matter with less than 300$. So its not deliverable with cylinder, but its fully compatible with Nuki Universal Cylinders. Hope Nuki will understand our points, UWB is comming to smart home, and NUKI MUST WORK before other vendors implement and certified it, since Nuki does not looks compatible with other looks anymore (( BTW I ordered Universal Cylinders a couple of days ago and looks like I have to return it ;(
I did it all for the Nuki
So. Level lock or this new nuki?
Nuki 😇
Seems to be the perfect lock. Thank you ..
Thanks so much! We're glad you're excited about the Nuki Ultra. 🙌😊
349€ just for the lock? for about 130€ less I can get an Aqara U200 with Keypad, Homekey and it hat a rechargeable, REPLACABLE battery with a standard USB-C Charging plug,
Honestly...I liked my Nuki 2, 3 Pro and 4 Pro and the 2.0 KeyPad....but price and value are not in sync anymore.
But no Homekey or UWB is a dealbreaker for me
aqara u200 is probably a bit cheaper but it looks very ugly😅
as well the aqara keypad, is very big compared to the nuki keypad 2.0
tested both of them and my decision was still nuki👍
Me gusta mucho
Nuki. No international linguistic branding experts were involved 😹😹😹
It's obviously a play on "new key".
@@PedroAlves0 Bless 😻😻😻😻😻
It will be beautiful if there is a black metal brush color.
Does anyone understand how the charging works? There is no removable unit and how do bring power to it?
Extension cord to the door 😄
@ but what is there is no power source close to the door
@@ourielPowerbank
@@ouriel Hey
The magnetic charging cable is 2 meters long, in case you have a power outlet in that range.
If not, you can also easily take your Ultra off the door and charge it fully in around 2 hours.
@ I don’t. This is not a good solution you offered here
I have the universal cylinder already, and don't see whether this is compatible with a regular WiFi network
When i read all the comment , my conclusion , Stay whith a standard key ! 😂
Congratulations!! Love it. Can't wait to try it. Thanks
Your video would have been much better had you shown the device working, with audio and various use cases
Thanks for the feedback! We appreciate the suggestion and will definitely keep it in mind for future videos.👍
Please, we need a WHITE fingerprint acces pad.
Hello,
Will work with home assistant?
Yes, the Nuki Ultra is compatible with Home Assistant! You can easily integrate it into your smart home setup. We hope this helps.👍
@NukiSmartLock
1) the cylinder included is not supported 30-60 !!!! (yes it's in european data list of size) (except if you buy an adaptator 60 euros) So this cylinder wouldn'be sold with the lock in my mind
2) the lock do NOT match with door with lock with quarter turn to open (verified (installed and a lot of nuki support) because not enough strong. Maybe does they fixed this ? How can we be sure ?
3) the Nuki Keypad 2 is really in sincerely too expensive (159 euros). 79 euros maximum would be the correct and understandable price.
Will there ever be a function where I can give my friend a digital key which he can add to his apple wallet via a link
While this feature isn't available right now, we’re always working on new ways to improve Nuki. Thanks for your feedback.👍
Missing UWB and the use of own cylinder
We understand - UWB is a great feature, and the use of your own cylinder is important for many. While the Nuki Ultra requires the new Universal Cylinder for compatibility, we’re always listening to feedback. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Be smart; buy a Tedee!
We totally get your frustration. The new Universal Cylinder was introduced for better compatibility and security, but we know it’s not ideal for everyone, especially if you already have a system that works for you. We’re also aware that NFC is a feature many users want, and it’s something we’re working on for future updates. Thanks for sharing your feedback!👍
It must let you choose between using that cylinder or your own. I prefer my omega ultra cylinder abs i have one key for several. I don't wanna buy several less secure cylinders
We know, using your own cylinder makes a lot of sense, especially if you have a system that works for you. The Universal Cylinder was introduced for max compatibility and security, but we understand it’s not ideal for everyone. Thanks for your feedback.
Nuki 4.0 loses constantly Wifi so it cant be used very well in Home Assistant, you guys release now a new one and dont fix the old problems, serious?
I don't have issues with WiFi and my Nuki 4.0. Wandering why you have problems
@@AntonioGPS its a common problem in nuki forum we have hundreds from posts to that specific topic, the nuki 4.0 pro (without Bridge) losing wifi constantly. When i know the why behind that, nuki maybe give me a job but idk
Home assistant local support?
1000% this. Let's face it, the target audience for this overlaps perfectly with Home Assistant early adopter market.
And now a keypad which does work with fingerprints and looses them within two days.
Thanks for your detailed feedback! We understand your concern about battery life, especially with the faster motor speeds. The current battery is designed to balance performance and size, but we’re always looking for ways to improve. We appreciate your input! 😊
So they basically copied the locks from Tedee…
Still not waterproof...

Wait wait wait "protects your home and personal data"
What data? Isn't it just a door lock? Dont tell me I need an app or a subscription for this.
Great question! The Nuki Smart Lock doesn’t require a subscription. The app is just for setup, control, and monitoring. As for your data, we prioritize privacy - your personal information stays secure and is never shared unless you choose to. No hidden fees, just peace of mind! 😊
Charging method seems to be a serious problem
No apple key? No new lock for! Bye bye NUKI
I’ll pass to change my cylinder
It is not burglary free from criminal , if the criminal break the lock easily by hammering it easily and enter the house 100% compare to normal door lock is more secure . This is only technology but not security for the property
And the house owner !!! Don’t feel safe at all
The Nuki Ultra is completely installed on the inside of your door, so it's not visible from the outside. While no lock is 100% secure, the Nuki Ultra provides an extra layer of protection along with traditional security. Thanks for your comment.
lol no HomeKey

No point. Wait for UWB.
I am very disappointed with my experience with the Nuki Smart Lock and your customer service. My lock turned off Bluetooth while the battery was at 100%, leaving me locked outside. Despite contacting your support team, they refused to acknowledge this as a malfunction or offer a refund. A smart lock should never fail like this, especially when fully charged. It seems no one is willing to take responsibility for resolving this issue. Potential customers, be cautious before purchasing!
We are really sorry to hear about your experience. That’s definitely not the kind of service we want to provide. If you're still having issues, please reach out to our support team again - we’ll make sure to investigate this further and get it resolved for you. Thank you for sharing your feedback!
