    Awww, thanks for sharing this very valuable experience! One thing I believe to be true is that however your dreads look, whatever style you have, whatever colour you have, people always think you did it on purpose and that it looks cool. So I don’t think you need to worry, you are totally rocking it babe xx

    Both the headband and the braided dreads look really good! Great solutions for a bleaching accident (I've melted my hair with bleach before, too!)

    A bleach accident can turn in to a happy accident, and that braided style is so adorable. I know it wasn't intentional, but it looks great! The wonderful thing about hair is, it grows. It takes time, but it does grow. I would highly suggest an olaplex treatment. I used olaplex on my dreads when i had them, and it was perfectly fine. Olaplex rebonds the structure of your hair, and it might help that "crunchy" feeling. I was a hairstylist, and i had dreads for 5 years, but decided to comb them out due to back and neck pain. With that being said, I've have plenty of bleach accidents in my life and can sympathize with the feeling.
    Things to know: you didn't completely wreck your hair, its ok, it happens to many people.
    You are gorgeous, it's only a temporary state of being, and can be resolved with time and patience.
    Embrace the new styles you get to try, and know that taking the step to share your experience is huge and very helpful to others and is extremely courageous.

    Ok!! Don’t panic!! The hair style u did is cute! But I was think u could do gel waves on the sides! And once u get ur bangs a bit longer maybe do micro bangs! Also u could easily fake side bangs too! I feel for u!! My heart hurts for ya and I’ll pray for u some comfort!! But consider gel waves on sides Bc I think that would be cute!!

    Hi know how worried and scared you must have felt when that happened and thank you for still sharing your experience with us amid all the criticism you probably was expecting to receive but most of us have been there at one time or the other and choose not to share so you taught us some thing very important and am proud of you for doing that. One thing I must caution you about though is to be very careful with the amount of time that you bleach because it's very dangerous for you scalp and can cause scalp sores that can be cancerous so just be careful ok. ❤

    Rebuild and restore. Don't dye...you are beautiful without it. Trust and believe with time your hair is going to recover 10 fold! Nutrition is going to make a world of difference...veggies, and K2 supplement. Collagen very important. Protein...lean protein...chicken, fish is wonderful for hair. You got this. Bleach is bad inside and out beautiful.

  • @tam8282
    @tam8282 Год назад +2

    If this was me beautiful, I would just leave them loose, don't keep braiding your dreads so tight or bleaching roots, let them be free, stop putting so much strain on your roots. I only say this because the key thing I keep picking up in all your videos over the years is that you want fat dreads and unfortunately you're doing everything to stop that. Hey, honestly your hair looks awesome your dreads look amazing, I've always admired your look, but they're not going to thicken up until you stop having them pulled on all the time and dying them. Love your content!! So happy you're back sharing your dread journey. You inspired me to get mine. ✌️💛✨

      I agree! On top of the bleaching, the constant maintenance with the crochet hook so close to the scalp is a big part of what’s making them skinny. I 100% understand the desire to have clean, tight sections, cuz I want the same thing, but seeing your hair wrapped so close around your roots to where it looks like you have rubber bands on (I thought you did at first at one point in this vid and I couldn’t believe you’d do that..) is going to keep making them super tight and thin. I’ve been fighting the urge to keep the crochet hook AWAY from my hair, and my dreads have been muuuuch happier..albeit a little less perfectly-sectioned-looking.

    Do you do a lot of crochet maintenance on your locs? The way they aren’t dreading is very strange, unless maybe your hair is so bleached that it’s stretching/snapping within the loc. I’ve had bleached locs before and didn’t experience that.. mine were ash blonde though, so maybe it’s to do with having platinum.

    If you take out or lessen the amount of added human hair, and stop bleaching it , your hair will thicken. By adding extra weight to your roots, your hair will thin at the roots. Bleaching does the same thing. Leave your hair be, and let the breakage grow out, and your hair will grow thick again.

    I know this vid is 9 months old, but I have dreads and the sides of my head are shaved, just from my temple to behind my ear, to the bottom of my ear. I did this look intentionally, and I personally like it for various reasons - I think it's pretty aesthetically, I hated that the dreads around my ears never laid down right, and I also live in a desert and this helped with the heat. So, I like it. May not be your style. Hope you figured it out in the last 9 months.

    please give your hair a break. Care for your dreadlocks with moisture and leave in conditioner. please stop bleaching your hair. I'm so sorry for you, that really hurt me. I have dreads myself and care for them as described above. I can comb it up and re-dread it, the hair is fine if you just leave it alone :(
