I’m from Atlanta, homelessness and traffic are probably my worst cons of the city. People definitely have to understand we consider the outskirts to be Atlanta. I believe if you’re black and have a family, you would love Fairburn. There are mini mansions there that’s the same cost of living in an apartment in midtown. The west side where all the hbcus are is the hood. The north side is the nicest but of course most expensive. Only thing I didn’t agree with is your comments on Marta. Marta STAY busy until at night
Is Fairburn really nice!!
Thanks so much for making this video. It is really helpful to get inside perspective about a big city like Atlanta. I will be moving here soon and I'm so grateful to hear your pros and cons. Thanks!
i definitely appreciate the vid... I'm moving to ATL late summer and the way you broke things was very helpful.
This was a great video! Extremely helpful!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video!! I watched a lot of videos that really turned me off and made me question the possibility of moving to Atlanta but this was really helpful. I am planning to move to pursue a career in Nutrition after completing classes here in Boston. Thanks for talking about Healthcare down there! There's lots of opportunities :)
Tangie K there really is a plethora of opportunities for you as a healthcare professional! Definitely take a trip here and see if it’s worth your time but I doubt you wouldn’t LOVE it 😊
Great video beautiful ebony queen. I've visited Atlanta 3 times only short stays though. I'll be moving there next fall. Trying to do as much research I can especially regarding housing and neighborhoods. Thank you for the information.
Thank you so much for your video. Alot of helpful info!! Moving to Atlanta in a month..nervous but really looking forward to the change
lisa lyons I hope the best for you! 😂
thank you for making this video! I went to shepherd for my rehab and I'm considering moving here and this is very helpful! I'm a big sports guy and this town has all that and I'm slowly coming to love this city.
Affordability is definitely a pro for me! I'm from Los Angeles where they have 2 bed, 2 bath shacks going for 700K +🤦🏿♂️
Jelani Billups yeah that’s too much!
Crazy too much That’s Hollywood charging I don’t have money like that
I'm Moving to Atlanta in 7 Days and I'm Excited about Being in My New Home City Soon! I Definitely Appreciate Your Video, Olivia! Thanks for the Advice!
so happy to hear that!!! Thank you for enjoying my video :) I have more videos about living in atlanta so go check them out!
How do u like living there so far?
Thank you so much for this! I’m from NY and am contemplating a move there with my husband. The cost of living here is way too much. Hopefully it’ll be a good transition.
kguest2 it definitely will be! I’m from NY so this state is much slower but much cleaner and friendlier. Wish you all the best for this new transition!
Good video that brings out a different perspective. Visiting a place & living in a place you call home are two polars. We love visiting LA but can't imagine living there everyday. Cheers!
Great vid!
Your a natural I love your energy keep putting up quality content .
Robert Blocker Why thank you!!
Georgia is beautiful and southern here. There is a lot of bugs and cars are covered with green pollen and it will be all over your car and everywhere. Not a great place for people with allergies during the seasons of Spring, Summer and yes Fall. You will see some country pumkins people in Georgia but the people are so friendly the men hear open the door for you at the stores. :)
Thank you for sharing this! I visit Atlanta from time to time and I love it. You've given me a lot to think about. We should stay in contact
I want to move to atlanta in a few months any good places that are affordable?
This video was extremely helpful I appreciate you
I'm so glad!
Very helpful video got a lot of information out of it.
Yes this weather is crazy . You never know what we’re gonna get here in ATL.
Paola Roque I know this has Been 1 year but the weather is never crazy in my opinion we get used to heat but sometimes the cold is cold like for example people get cold and make schools and jobs closed it not that cold in Atlanta we only get barely of snow just saying (don’t need to get mad)
I'm moving to Atlanta in two weeks. Your video was helpful. Cheers!
YAY! i hope you enjoy Atlanta and I am glad to hear that! :)
Jared you’re cute!!!! Come visit me and we can parle !
Hows it been?
TheOliviab1, are you an Atlanta native? My mom's a Grady Baby, my younger siblings are Northside Babies and I'm a South Fulton Baby.
May move to Stone Mountain or Fairburn, thanks for sharing, I SUBSCRIBE
I moving to Atlanta next month, your video is quite informative and helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Great job!!! I'm in Cleveland Ohio,
I’ve been to Atlanta twice. Heard a lot of things about the city. For sure I’d definitely would live in the outskirts of Atlanta if I were to live around there. I currently live 4 hours south of Atlanta but I grew up 40 minutes north of Minneapolis in which isn’t too bad of a city to visit especially in “Central Minneapolis” where you have the
“Target Center,” Target Field, First Avenue, uptown theatre & Orpheum theatre all walking distance from one another. Although that has to be the only city in MN “in my opinion” that has the worst traffic! I wouldn’t recommend buying or renting a place in Northeast Minneapolis due to that it is known for the highest crime rate in Minnesota. Other than that, it’s beautiful & fun to visit!
I’m planning on moving there in a few months, hopefully this virus pandemic dies down by then because it’s delaying things. I’ve been there twice already, but this video was helpful in knowing what to expect when you actually live there. Thanks for keeping it real.👍🏽😊
Thank you so much for watching! All the best to you in terms of moving and stay safe 🙏🏾
I live in Decatur, right next to Emory University... and this area is good!! A little expensive but good
Claudia Arteaga i really am interested in Decatur as well
North Decatur, Druid Hills and North Druid Hills are beautiful
I just subscribed to your video. Thank you for this information ♥️ thinking of moving within a year or 2 to AT. I live in California Orange County. What cities do you recommend to live in? Your homes out there have amazing huge backyards . What cities are not good to live at as well? Thanks ♥️
Rose Channel hey love! Thank you😊 and to answer your question.... I made a video about the northern cities in metro Atlanta. I am going to make a video about the south side cities soon 😊
TheOliviab1 thank you! ♥️
Great review, you are so right. I am in the DC area, so you are thinking about moving? Well, DC is pretty much the same like Atlanta, but as far as rental and buying a home, it's worst. But between DC,Northern VA and Marland the job market here is much stronger than in Atlanta, jobs pay extreme well Depending on the industry you're in. Public transportation is better here than in Atlanta, but metro does have issues here, but for the most part you can get around really well and if you live in DC you can bike or walk everywhere. The nightlife here is ok ,but it's no NYC or Miami. But it's something for everyone here. Overall the DC area like Atlanta is a great area for jobs and people of color, so you may want to check it out.
Andre hughes awesome great to know!! ☺️
Hello thank you for the information about Atlanta. What camera did you use to shoot your video. And what did you use for the graphics?
Kenny Teckey I use the Canon t5i and I use Final Cut Pro
Thank you, great channel :)
I live in Marietta Georgia for 16 years and I live near Kennesaw, Woodstock and Acworth. I am in great location and I do a rental in my house. I make very good money since its very high to live in Atlanta and suburbs. Apartments in the cities that I live near are 1200-1400 for two bedroom and 900+ for one bedroom. That's not including utilities. LOL
The traffic to Atlanta can be rough if you know what times where there is less traffic. New highway overpasses has been built that runs from North East to Atlanta. Unless you are making very good salary, you can find an apartment in Atlanta or finding a roommate.
I'm moving to Acworth!
When I was there I was living in Woodstock even went to Woodstock high school and lived in canton in a neighborhood called bridgemill very big homes
Great Video :) Big Facts #Atlanta
Curtis Barnes thanks Curtis!
wow thank you so much for this
Beatbysue anytime! Thanks for watching 😀
If all goes well with the job I am working on getting I should be moving there next year. Price compared to San Diego is crazy, like literally almost half.
EklekTek AH! All the best of luck!
You pretty much nailed it the traffic is so bad because the public transportation is so trash
RIGHT! we got to do better because it would really make it soo much more accessible to go around Atlanta for all types of people.
I really enjoyed watching ur video. I have a couple friends and family members that live in ga. The only thing that's stopping me from moving is the weather. But ur video was very helpful.
Clearly, you don't use public transportation. Depending on time of day and area the trains are packed; not as bad as NYC, though. The con is that the buses don't coordinate well in many areas. MARTA to the airport is indispensable!
Virginia Moss thank you again for your input
Thankyou so much for this
well of course!
Thank you!
Good info. Thanks!
D. Davis I am a grady baby .. native . Love my city .
South Fulton baby here!!! :) :) :)
I will be in Atlanta to finish what I started from years ago there’s nothing wrong with Marta I used to take it as second transport when I didn’t want to drive in the city
I had to leave Georgia in 2015 couldn’t find a job in the healthcare field . Kind of shocking because I have 20 years experience and MBA. Maybe it’s changed.
michele williams wow! I’m sorry to hear that. I’m a future nurse so I hope I don’t have any issue 😬
Decent paying jobs are very hard to get here. Companies know you got experience and don't want to hire you for what you're worth. There's jobs but they are mostly low paying jobs. People with degrees that cant get jobs in their field. Most of the jobs here are low paying, the decent paying jobs are few and hard to get. There's to many people here and not enough decent paying jobs. Atlanta is not what its hyped up to be.
You look so pretty in this video! Do you have a favorite place to eat??
THANK YOU! My favorite place to eat in Atlanta is between Six Feet Under in Midtown and BQE in Downtown Atlanta.
TheOliviab1 six feet under has the best lamb chops omg
She is beautiful
787montez thank you 😊
How is the dating scene in Atlanta? I hear mixed things about it!
It really depends on what you are looking for. I definitely do not think it is too bad considering that people are willing to talk to you down here.
Marta isn't dead. If you live OTP(outside the perimeter) you most definitely need a car. However, I live in East Point and I can hop on a bus and connect to my Marta station and get around easily. I really wish people stop saying that Marta is dead...Marta and public transportation might not be very prevalent in your particular area, but Marta is not dead.
@D H yes not efficient if you live OTP, but her comment was that Marta is dead and no one is really on it...lots of people use it...now if she was just speaking on the trolley---then yes, no one is really on that.
Hows EP area and tri cities high school?
What's the best safe black neighborhoods?
Harry Jackoffski Wakanda
Cumming
Good details.
Everlasting Glow thank you!!
Lennox mall is where all the gays hang I heard. Don’t know if it’s entirely true but I’ve been watching ATL videos because my fiancé and I are moving there in March (not ATL per-say but GA). We’re business owners and I feel like all the videos I’ve watched are those living in ATL complaining about money and jobs. We’re from New York so... we’re not going to have an issue. I definitely need to live around name brand stores lol
Are all the universities in Atlanta?
oh absolutely not. The only major colleges in ATL are Georgia State University,Clark Atlanta, Spelman, Morehouse, Georgia Tech, Art Institute, and some people count Emory but it is actually in Decatur.
video is on point. Atlanta needs rent control and more affordable housing
Pretty much every city or town that's not dying has the unaffordable housing problem. Foreign investors/money laundering is one reason why.
Thanks for the info...sounds a lot like Dallas Fort Worth, the pros and cons
Tailor Made For Business When I went to Dallas, it didn’t bring the same diversity as Atlanta but it was a nice city
Traffic
@@pittsburghpirate58 - Well, it's a city; comes with the territory.
Pls don't compare Atlanta to DFW.
DFW is better trust me.
@@TimewithLivi DFW is more diverse than ATL.
DFW ranks 5th most diverse in the US
I think Atlanta is nicer than Houston. Houston is HUMID, flat, and always floods. :(
Houston is bigger better and more diverse
D H ppl in Houston live in reality ppl in Atlanta are delusional as fuck
Houston huh ? Heard it was pop’n
@@YusefAlim33 it is
Where did you get your facts? You had a lot of good information. However, you left out a lot of facts. There are a lot more areas to live in, a lot more secondary education. There is also more hospitals and healthcare. We have great sporting events and the Braves are now on the perimeter area. So much more information to be given. But I appreciate you and your video.
Pamela Baio I did leave a lot out but I would literally be here all day. I made this as a really rough draft version of Atl. I lived here for a decade so I’m pretty well versed. I didn’t want to make the info hard to swallow for someone who is considering moving here. Thanks for watching 👍🏾
TheOliviab1 thank you for replying. I appreciate the response so much and that you didnt think I was being critical. Which I want. Just constructive.
TheOliviab1 I think you did a great job focusing on what we are interested in.
Great video! You gave enough information. I hate when people try to be so critical like they could have done any better.... 😂 I especially appreciate the info on nature and the bike trails coming from beautiful Oregon.
She talked about winter, but failed to indicate that spring, summer and fall are HOT and steamy, extremely unpleasant. Even in winter the humidity is so heavy that even cool temperatures will cause chills if outdoors. Temperatures range from 8 degrees to 108 degrees at the extremes. The only worse city is Houston, Texas.
Virginia Moss thank you for your input.
@@TimewithLivi - You're welcome. I should have mentioned Washington, DC, as worse as well. Your assessment of Atlanta is spot on and useful. It's a great place to make money; the money is definitely there, but you have to compete very hard and very smart for it.
Best of luck in all your endeavors! I have great faith in your generation.
I'm from Florida so 🤷🏾♂️
Virginia Moss I never heard Atlanta gets that hot
@@jamalhartley7559 - Now you do. It's not the temperature; it's the humidity. But summers in the mid to high 90s, even into 3 digits, is beyond miserable.
Are there a lot of lgbt people in Atalanta?
Plentyful
you are so cute. I love your personally.
NEW SUBBIE! I LIKE U!
Why thank you! I appreciate the love this morning :) . Have a blessed day!
So Pretty 😍😘😍
I have two other videos talking about the nightlife in Atlanta! Check out my channel for more!🤗😊🌃
I’ve been here three days ....
Keep me in your prayers
All of America needs rent control. One of the reasons why i am considering purchasing a home in atl is because of the low cost. Im from Los Angeles and the prices are sky rocket. Midtown is an area that is on my radar but the prices are exactly like the poor cities in LA, 1br 1 bath for 1200.
This woman from NYC said she hated Atlanta because it was to slow pace
Cowboys Nation 214 I mean it is ! I’m from Chicago and it’s slow she’s from nyc so of course it’s gonna be slow !
I know this is 3 months but how is it slow
Moving from a very small town Southwest ,Georgia Sylvester. Population 1,000 the only place that makes Peter pan peanut butter. 5 traffic lights ,no diversity. The town were the secret lives of the bees is from. A town that Ray Charles was familiar with. I need to get out of this very very small mind town were racism still lives.
Jhonni Monsoon Show I hope you get a chance to see more and live elsewhere but i didn’t know all those facts. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
I hope you are moving out of the south then. Atlanta is in the South. Things won't change much there. Ga itself is not a good place to live. Never has been for black people. The whole south sucks for black people. They got just as many prisons as school and building more. Atlanta stopped being a Mecca 20 years ago. Now its nothing but losers hoping to be a producer or on some wretched tv show instead of becoming educated. Educated people should be the face of Atlanta. Not wretched reality show clowns. There are some beautiful black women there though, like her but half of the women under 30 in Atlanta seem to be selling booty or have been. You gotta be super careful. If you are a young guy you better take you one of those nice country girls there with you. I would not take the risk. Just a very disgusting culture in Atlanta now amongst the young people. I lived in Albany (one of the worst cities in the state) before. Worked at Birdsong after the chemical plant closed. Worst experience in my life. I live in Seattle now. After living in other places I would consider Atlanta a "developing" city. You should not "need" a vehicle living within the city limits of a major city. African Americans should not live in the Southern States. It is redundant. Knowing that the state lawmakers are doing everything they can to make it hard on minorities. Even to the detriment of their own kind.
You forgot how high we rank in crime.
My family are moving to Atlanta from MN in two years. This state isn’t for us anymore. Too many white people and ice hockey. We really need a change and see more people like us around. Thanks for the video.
Michelle Rose-Keaton you will enjoy it! My friend moved from over there and hasn’t looked back!
This goddess fine af!
Don’t come to NY
Country and ghetto and classes run run run and by far not diverse at all TRUST ME
Hearing her talk about how ATL is so wonderful , just makes me want to scream liar.
blanket girl why don’t u like it
Very informative video. It's funny b/c I'm from L.A. (Lame Athens, about 1hr 15-20mins from Atl), and most people from Athens call Gwinnett Atl....NOT!! But Athens is so country, so when most people travel anywhere south outside of Athens, they call it Atl. LOL!! Btw, Athens sucks, so don't come here!!
Ericka-Denise yeah I been to Athens. Its a no for me. They really try to make that city bigger than it is because of UGA.
TheOliviab1 : Exactly!
im from L.A. and I need to get out of here. What do you suggest?
Harry Jackoffski: What's keeping you here? Everybody's situation is different. Mine is a combination of things. So just ask yourself what you need to do to make it happen to get you out of L.A, come up with a plan, and put it to action. Like I'm doing! Hope to be outta here in the next 1-2 years!!! Fingers crossed! Hope this helps!
Ericka- Denise it does thanks
I'm in porn. Business
Atlanta is a Toilet.
eze ohh man! Give it another chance!
Let’s just make bad videos abt Atlanta so people will stop moving here
DavoFrench hahaha great idea 😭
🤣
