I'm 60 and I've been practising copperplate for way longer than 14 years, so this boy has got no business being this good at 14! (I think I'll throw all my pens in the bin!). Absolutely amazing work! :-)

I know!!!! I can't seem to even come close to that, although I have no plans on stopping anytime soon. I've got to learn the technique at some point.

Well could be much better, but could be also not much different if he give up on some point of time :)
His work is still beautiful as of 4 days ago. I can say after 5 years it's gotten better.

~{{ This just makes me SICK!!! }}~ Really I have nothing but love to pass on to this Young Person that has taken to task leaning Copperplate. I enjoy Spencerian personally but this youth as a leg up on me. I almost chipped a tooth while grinding my teeth watching this video of such graceful execution and mastery of the pointed pen. Great JOB! Just wish I could say the same about mine. Green with EnVy. LOL ;-P Think I can go back to my corner of the fish bowl and roll belly up now. Thanks....!?!

circular movements lack full curvature and line smoothness. a few hundred hours of practice will eliminate that

Eduardo Raxon You burn the nib for a few seconds over flame.
Or.
You dip it in potatoes so that the starch washes away the oil! Hope it helped, for clearence, you may do extended research by searching over various videos of the topic. :)

Depending how how you stab the potato you might just end up pulling out a 2 pronged fork. Be careful when doing that as I could not see a Leonardt Principal holding up under that direction for removing factory coating.
Soap and water don't burn it because the steel is tempered and you don't want to change that
