16 months sober and going strong ,Thanks for Your videos.
Wow. Stay strong 👍
I stopped drinking April 13, 2022 thanks to your videos. Thank you
Great job!
If you are watching this video and you are trying to quit drinking - keep trying! Alcohol makes a hard life harder. It whispers promises of escape, distracting you as it slowly lowers you into a dark pit, which you have to FIGHT LIKE HELL to claw your way out of. The biggest problem of alcohol drinking is the whole culture behind it. It has been a fact, for a long time, that almost every social setting MUST include alcohol because people can't relax otherwise.👋
I make jokes about drinking,it points to the acceptance of it ,very culturally driven.
@@goforitrazz Alcohol drinking is universally associated with celebration in all cultures, as an essential element of festivity. In societies with an ambivalent, morally charged relationship with alcohol (such as the UK, US, Scandinavia, Australia), 'celebration' is used as an excuse for drinking.
@@JIMKATSANIDISAlcohol is called social lubricant
@@thetruthk5138Agree! Alcohol is especially known for this and has the potential to increase aggression and cause disputes or violence. It makes us less self-conscious and more willing to open up to others, and we believe this leads to deeper relationships.🙌
@@JIMKATSANIDIS Well thankfully I'm leaving in 5 minutes to go to the rooms to keep me on track with my recovery and for that I am grateful ;-)
I’m about 6 weeks clear of alcohol. Life is far better without it. Oddly people, friends still ask “what’s up, why aren’t you drinking, just have one for fun.”
yeah-Its weird when ppl do that. Pretty soon that will happen less frequently
Keep going! You can do it...about 14 weeks for me 😊
Roughly 6 weeks sober myself. I have tried to stop drinking so many times my friends laugh when I tell them I quit. It doesn't bother me, action speaks louder than words. I'm done. Stay sober and healthy my friends.
Keep going Ralph..you're strong you can do it!
517 days sober and haven’t looked back since. I often comment on your videos on how much they have helped me in that time since i sobered up and they are still for me a great strength. I still want to drink and think about it almost all the time but I’m better armoured to resist these days and getting stronger. Daily workouts ,spending time with my wife and daughter, trying to be better than I was yesterday, all things I don’t take for granted. Thanks again Kev,always wise words my friend 💪
Each time I’ve quit the withdrawals are worse. Lately I’ve had vomiting and hearing things. It has scared me to stop again! This is getting really worrisome. It’s not just a hang over any more. Thank you for these videos. I’ve watched you for 3 years. I have a 2 year alcohol free under my belt but that was 2 years ago. I’m doing things right from now on. I do not want this I’m my life!
Your withdrawal symptoms indicate a serious physical addiction friend. Very very dangerous. It can be lethal. Your best course is a medically assisted detox. They prescribe valium to stop the tremens shakes and auditory/visual hallucinations. You'll be monitored by medical staff. Alcohol withdrawal is one of the most dangerous withdrawals of addiction there is. Stay safe, get help. 👍
Get your liver checked out. When it can’t filter anymore it will do things like that.
You've changed my life
You always have to do the hard work, Andrew.
Grocery shopping tonight. Glanced over at the liquor I used to buy and thought, "you know, it won't jump in your cart, move along."
Great video! My family and I were on vacation over the weekend at the beach and the amount of people boozing it up was unreal. I felt nervous at first, was this going to be the first true test for me against my cravings? Honestly it didn’t phase me. I logically started talking to myself about the damage the alcohol does to one’s body and before you know it, I was caught up in a state of gratitude looking at my children knowing that I was going to be fully present with them and enjoy this time without alcohol! It is so freeing when you can enter into that mindset. Thankful for your videos, they encourage and inspire me!
Enjoy your holiday. That's the main thing :)
More power to you.
This sounds like the blame /excuse " The devil made me do it"! Excellent video Kevin. So true. Thank you!
I watch these videos just to support the channel. The reality is that you have to believe only in yourself and have self-reliance. Alcohol is a habit forming drug and it's a difficult habit to stop because it alters the brain and body chemistry. I quit when I was 35yrs old but it was first trial and error for many years, until I got it right.
Thanks for all the work you do to help others😊
That can not be said enough. Kevin gives out the good stuff
I think it’s interesting to look at why it picked up the name “spirits” or “demon” - I would have to guess this has to do with the sometimes drastic changes in character or outbursts of uncharacteristic behavior portrayed by those who have ingested it. The “demon” part might have to do with life disrupting and destroying results that its abuse sometimes engenders. I think also it might be a way of old in describing astringent qualities of it’s chemical nature. Who knows? I just know I don’t drink it anymore 😊
You're right. I think we've all witnessed someone who's that far gone with their alcohol, or many other drugs now, that they seem to be possessed by a demon.
That's what I've always thought as well. It's called "spirits" plural. I believe it does open the pathway to such unpredictable behavior that it resembles descriptions of someone infested with demons. Whether you believe they are demons or just a bunch of psychotic personalities , it's very much the same in someone very high on a drug.
Its derived from an actual name of a demon AL-KOOL, an Arabic name, hence the Islamic ban on Alcohol for obvious reasons.
Interestingly enough Jinn (Gin) in the Quran is also the name given for demonic entities, says it all really.....
Gave a old friend a blast yesterday,no is no,I don’t need to explain myself why I refused your drink, not like me but she has been there also and knows better. 7:41
Avoiding social pressure is tough. Kudos to you. They would always try to show you that you are a party pooper, you are not enjoying life, it’s just one drink, c’mmon since when does a sip harm anyone. There are million reasons if you go by them and your own silent reason why you don’t want that poison
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
It's always your choice
The dog is stunning !
Kinda like a gun. It can’t do anything until someone picks it up and pulls the trigger.
Yep
Bloody great video brother. Your sincerity is infectious. So, as you were sitting on the mountain surrounded by the crisp air, sharing your message, i had a vision. Now im not blowing smoke up your arse ok. I could see yourself and a very calm (because he can get very animated) Jordan Peterson discussing the 'Alcohol' issue. Within the narrow parameters of personal responsibility.
The message of personal responsibility is the cornerstone of a life well lived. The grounding of all religious and ethical teachings, even though people tend to mystify it with layers for some qwerky self indulgent reasons.
So, no smoke but it would be pretty cool. Onwards and upwards, dare i say, too the stars 👍
Soothing music. Stunning views. A perfect way to start the day. Thank you Kevin ❤
Stupid is as stupid does...I love it!
This was really good! Thankyou for all you do!!
Great video 👍, subscribed.... very thought provoking & make's alot of sense...thank you.
Received My 10 Month Sober Coin Last Friday 👍 Thanks For Your Support 🙏
Trying to get there👍🏻
Thank you, Kevin. Please dont stip these videos.
More to come!
Truly if there is a devil and demons they can only tempt us! Nobody can make us do what we don't want to do 👍
I found out today that a good friend lost his licence for drink driving
I know the feeling
@@HabitsV2so do I
As do I. Still didn't stop me but it did set me on a path of responsibility for my actions. Just took a few years to fully accept and engage in said responsibility 🤦
Pure luck I didn't kill or injure anyone. Shameful.
word..... watched this video 5 times ... its all so true - i learend so much , thanks
I find your videos extremely helpful, and for this, I thank you very much. But I have one question, where are this videos taken...?? such a senic area.
Andorra/Spain border
It’s not the demon in the alcohol it’s the demon in the person. I agree that a person who quits drinking thinking they beat some external demon will never come close in terms of feeling of accomplishment and newfound growth as a person as someone who quits and sees that as overcoming their own self.
My hardest demons are wife, kids, family friends, work colleagues, boss, neighbours who know i have an alchohol problem and mock me because off this! Which in turn drives me towards the escape of drinking! Now if i was to quit i would be mocked for becoming sober as they all helped me become the person that i am in the first place... its a catch 22 every single day!!
Alchohol gave me everything i had in life!!! But slowly took it away bit by bit to the point that those bridges are never gonna be rebuilt to where they once was.. just a laughing stock! Everywhere i turn!!! Mentally exhausting!!!
Hey buddy. Been exactly where you are. Your not listening. Stop blaming the demons. You put it inside you. Simple
great video
Wait until you see one in person . ..same half real dream ... twice in one night...right after my pop passed away....Drank a 6 pack to and cried myself to sleep....just for a couple of hours ...than the demon . . But you are correct...with alcohol ...your success will leave you, your loved ones leave, ....then your health will leave you....then the streets,tents...dirt ..fights drugs.. if you live long enough!
I keep watching and keep trying.....can I ask where that is you are walking?
Just don't pull the trigger
I don't miss those nasty hangovers one bit.
I posted on Facebook sober October .. it was a classic reaction of comments like .. no way .. etc ect ect ect.
People don't like their own bad habits hightlighted

Just curious to know Kevin if you drink coffee? I'm convinced the REAL power lies in quitting both alcohol AND coffee...
I do.
Thank you sir.
Day 112
Yeahhh
I'll always drink whiskey you'll have to take it from my cold dead hands
I don't think anyone wants to take it from you, my friend. There's plenty out there. It's your body, your choice. Best of luck
I'm a believer and I had a vision of a literal demon the last time I drank. I woke up and a young beautiful woman was pouring wine out of a jug and smiling at me seductively I don't care who reads this and thinks I'm crazy I know what I saw and felt I had a man pray for me and he told me my demon was alcohol that SAME day. This is a warning idc what other people think you're giving yourself to an evil power when u drink or do drugs
Oh no… this is real. The demons that you are opening doors to is 100% true! Not a “blame.” It won’t make you feel like quitting, hence, the demon. Now what will want you to stop is the Almighty God!!!
I guess the demon is our “shadow side” or the “work” that needs to be faced. You can eat a whole pie then ask Jesus to forgive you. Now that’s a story you tell yourself! My alcoholic sister proclaims to all the children and grandkids around her that “fun” is the way to live life. Of course she needs alcohol and a rich husband to manifest that fun. I confront her about posting endless “fun” photos on social media, then I endure her transformation into a verbally abusive demon straight out of hell that, thank God, I can just hang up on.
I guess calling it a "Demon" drink and identifying it as such helps the problematic drinker to associate it negatively and thus etching it more in memory. I kind of see this as important. Identifying it for what it is. Thats not to say it external at all. Like as if its to blame cause the drinker is 100% to blame themselves. But i can say the term does apply from a christian perception cause we use allour senses( Sight (Vision)
Hearing (Auditory)
Smell (Olfactory)
Taste (Gustatory)
Touch (Tactile)
Vestibular (Movement): the movement and balance sense, which gives us information about where our head and body are in space.
And its all we got to "take in" this world. SO i can identify but at the end of the day drinking problems arent external....they are internal. Like you said..."Alcohol isnt magic and jump from the bottle to your mouth"
The problem with this type of thinking is it elevates to problem to something more than it is. In the Art of War: "Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win." The same principle applies here. You win this battle first in your head and then in reality.
@@HabitsV2 thats one way to do it. Calling it for what it is and identifying it is good to do. Gotta know what your fighting. As you know there are going to be many "Fights" (or stuggles if ya like to call it) on many fronts and at different times. Hope ya win but sometimes ya can win from losing. I'd call it a learning curve. But sometimes getting ur A kicked can work too. its all diff for everyone. I always just hope to see them on top of the mountain we all climb. Everybodys route is going to be unique. Art of war? Sure...whatever works
WOW; descriptions are interesting - it’s just another attempt at the blame game. The devil made me do it! Right we want it for our warped sense of reasoning. I always thought of drinking as my reward for getting through a tough day - I’d had enough. So I zoned out ruining all the good accomplished that day. ALCOHOL FREE My hubby and I are friends again. Thanks Kevin for all your sharing. 🫶
i fell in that trap too! - The whole "reward for getting through a tough day "
