  • Braamfontein in Johannesburg's CBD brought to a standstill by protesting Wits students. Registration closes tomorrow and despite a fundraising drive, historic debt is still a problem for a number of students, as is accommodation. Wits SRC member Lisa Sibaca speaks to #eNCA. Courtesy #DStv403

No it's very unfair to say "can't the missing middle (working class) just get loans?" If anything the missing middle should be prioritized when it comes to getting tertiary financial aid from government.

Her attitude speaks volumes. Our feelings are more important than someone who is dying. These will be the next politicians in South Africa

The system should be If you pass the first year with over 50% then you would be allowed to move onto the next year those who don't make the mark and still want to continue should pay it themselves ,if they pass then with over 50 % they come back into the subsidy .

I love this SRC speaker, she speaks FACTS, they must exercise their rights to the fullest, and unfortunately if it means disturbance of the economy then so be it because that's the ONLY way wits will LISTEN. Lets be real here, we all know stuff gets taken seriously once something big and horrible has happened first. Thats just the only way to make these people listen

The bank wants collateral and if you live in a shack or RDP doubt that would be accepted as collateral.

Force all kids from at least st3/gr5 to get 50+ on all 7 subjects and force them to all have math as 1 of the subjects and we probably will never see any of these events happening again...
