I think the University is more than fair. They actually going beyond their means. How can a student who keeps failing demand to be registered. With the amount of student debt owing it is not viable for any organisation to continue. Its plain common sense. Even if the government steps in to fund this debt, the money then comes from taxpayers and its like backing a losing horse. Damaging property, intimidating students and staff must be dealt with by the law. There are rules, there are laws and there are procedures and this must be upheld and respected... The University must be assisted by the Minister of Education and police and put their foot down to such ludicrous demands and behaviour. Unacceptable!
Their right to protest cannot take away my freedom of movement, my right to education, right to work etc. These students cannot be allowed to protest outside an officials house. SAPS must arrest these criminals. Let them study at unisa if their marks allow
Students still in wits after eight years trying to pass a three year degree must make way for other proper students. Students that break the law must be expelled. They can go to unisa
TERTIARY EDUCATION MUST NOT BE FREE!!!! I worked really hard in 94 95 96 I found a job and paid for my own education and did not fail a single subject. There was no NAFSA my parents where poor I did it myself. Last week I saw so many Black students sitting in Taverns. They spending NAFSA grants on alcohol, then they fail and want more money to repeat. FREE education is a slap in my face for the hard work I did. Hence I say NO TO FREE EDUCATION!!!! You go Patel suspend and arrest them. Take your march to the ANC they promised you free education but lied. I have made a provision for my child who will soon go to University as a parent I don't want my child to wait for handouts.
Can you just imagine whats going to happen when Wits finally decides that this is simply not financially viable anymore and announces their permanant closure? Do these students demanding a never ending tap of money realise that Lecturers, employees, services etc need to be paid?
Well done WITS for standing your ground. We cannot be hijacked by lazy people failing year after year taking up spaces of people that actually wants to study. It’s pathetic the way they are carrying on.
Clearly according to you, smart kids from disadvantaged backgrounds should be allowed to study because they can’t afford to?😂😂 wow how inhumane can you be
You are a brave man

@06:35 Patel said they allowed those who passed to register.
MY BRUDDAS ARE MOVING MAD, I JUST CAN'T SUPPORT THIS
Oh course.. ZEBLON is innocent. Why is he busy sending you! Why doesn't he address his students haibo! At this point anything he does is hearsay
Yes, let those who passed their courses register and deny those that failed! Fair enough! @06:35 - 07:30
SABC please be careful about your narrative and seemingly biased reporting - brutality and violence - stick to the facts and real video footage
