Man, you have succeeded in inspiring me. You're awesome and real. Earth needs more with you're enthusiasm. Ive watched about 5 different videos on jewelry photography and this is the first that not only has inspired me but made me confident in doing it. Thank you sir and subscribed.
Wish I could fully listen, I'm so delighted by the charming personality and accent which triggers my Russian nostalgia that I can't pay full attention to the tutorial :D
I'm amazed and sooo happy that I found you . You are great teacher. I'm helping a friend who owns a jewelry store, and asked me to take some pictures. So you save me. Thank you so much. Lots of blessings for you.
Unfortunately I can't find the one I had - its a large Foba cone.. Only this one is there: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/247497-REG/Foba_DUPLI_Small_Plexiglas_Cone.html
Love it🤩... But if I don't have a camera and just my phone camera? Can you do a video with tips taking pictures from cell phone camera plz!! Btw I'm new here🙋🏻♀️☺️!!
I have been photographing jewelry for the past 20 years. I thing that covering jewelry with white paper makes it lifeless and flat. Shiny metal surfaces look better if the reflect some of the surrounding ambient (in a controlled way). Also I switched to Olympus and macro lens because of focus bracketing, this way you have automatic crisp focus in all parts of the jewelry.
Are you a prof photographer? I'm a metal smith/ gemologist, artisan creating one of kind Jewelry. I don't have all week to take pics. It make take mos to create one pc. I don't sell others brands. Think this great info. Maybe when I grow up like Bulgari? I'll hire a pro.😊
Awesome expected post you shared here, I will require it many times, and here the outstanding selection of topic also makes me more jolly, please hope more blog post we get from you. Thanks advances!!!
Hi, Thanks for sharing. Do you prefer Autoretouch, an AI-powered image editing tool to automate the clipping path, background removal process? I have heard for bulk editing it is so helpful to reduce time and effort. Need your opinion.
You 're amazying I am gonna try it for sure! But in case of a white metal ring like this how can I shoot in order to avoid grey-ness.. and get a metal physical clear image?
I invested in a led light box. I shoot jewelry that is made of glass..............the problem is that I can't find a way to keep the reflection out of the image. I need suggestion on what I can do. I am at my wits end on this!!
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm just started to learn some jewelry photography, and it was exciting, but why the result in your web is very different than this? is it still retouched?
Post-production is really important for jewelry, so you have to pay a lot of attention to it. Btw, if you want to know how to effectively retouch any jewelry pieces (including high-end ones), check out this course: www.photigy.com/school/luxury-jewelry-photography-retouching-2/
Perfect hints... no question! But please give me one little answer: Why jewelry is NOT shot in front of BLACK background...??? (Almost 80% of jewelry has got WHITE background) I don't understand the reason or the effect.
Thanks for the video. I have learned a lot with this simple way to jewerly photography. Sometimes we make things so complicate when it ist so simple to do... How do you clean the Wax from Plexiglass after the shooting without scratching the plate? Thank you very much. Best regards.
Good overview of the issues. But if you sell items under $100.00 too much time and fiddling. Need handheld, set up stations, assembly line. Time is money.
You r adorable:) thanks for share highly practical and smart... I m an artist on toning coins and this is exactly what I was looking for... for sure you empower my soul inspiration
thank you for the post and if you can please take a moment if you can go to your Facebook remember I had sent you the photo of the baseball hat that needed something else.. please and thank you Alex
I don't understand why you teach wrong? I've seen videos of you using a column tripod !! How in this video do you put the camera on an unstable base and make a video like that? For batch shots one of the secrets is the stable camera on a tripod.

Thank you, it was fun to watch, only I did not like that the shadow was in the front. I assume one can play with some other light to soften it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Master. How can you connect camera for monitor? Thanks!
We connect it through the hdmi output on the camera :)
This is the best jewelry photography set up video I have ever seen. So simple!
WOW! Time to break in this new camera shooting my cross rings and Bible!
Very nice
Thanks ;)

Gracias Fer.
Great video, very inspiring. I have the same camera but with a sony 30mm f/3.5 macro lens. Still works, do you think? thank you
What is the best kind of Diffusion Rosco filter to use for a cone to photograph jewelry?
Motivated and inspired! Literally, earlier today I felt overwhelmed. Now after this video I’m picturing the wheels turning! Thank you!
Glad to hear. thank you!
Hi, Thanks for sharing. Do you prefer Autoretouch, an AI-powered image editing tool to automate the clipping path, background removal process? I have heard for bulk editing it is so helpful to reduce time and effort. Need your opinion.
Better to do it manual with full control ;)
You 're amazying I am gonna try it for sure! But in case of a white metal ring like this how can I shoot in order to avoid grey-ness.. and get a metal physical clear image?
Brilliant! Great job explaining to us novices, you make it fun to watch. Thank you so much!!!

Alex, how can I remove the black reflection in stones?
Try to find the source of that black reflection and create sparkles or whatever suits the best in your case

because than the lower part of the jewerly is then also black cause of the reflection.
This was very insightful. Thank you
Underexposed cause of white bottom rest great idea

Jose Crespo Fotero wipe it with a paper tissue and throw it away after, don't use it a second time, you will leave smudges
Ruud the Diamond Thanks ☺
Jose Crespo Fotero carefully, with some plastic cleaner liquid
I always learn something from your videos, i like this one cause your showing the camera settings
Thank you very much! :)
Amazing tutorial! Great use of a cheap setup, and pointed in the Learn-Experiment direction. Great!
Web Marketing thank you!

:-)) "Kulek" does not block the light, it diffuses it, same as any diffuser that you put between a light and a subject..
Nick M must be something else to replace it.

but painful to watch/ listen.
Too difficult to follow with the accent and stammering due to his search for words. Perhaps an instructor should be a better communicator?
Thank you for your feedback, Leighton. We'll do better. :)

Thank you.
You're welcome!
