  • Learn in less than 8 minutes what Martin Luther and the Reformation was all about. We have made this special video, because we really feel how important "sola scriptura" has become in our time again.
    Notice: Luther was not flawless and just the beginning of a christian awakening. We celebrate the positive and central aspects of his life, while we will graciously omit secondary and peripheral teachings he held. "Test everything; hold fast what is good." (1 Thes 5:21) "Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. (1 Cor 4:5 )
    Thanks for all your support and we hope these video can really help you to grow spiritually.

    ---
    TEXT:
    Do you know what playmobil is? Guess which figure is the most successful figure in Playmobil history? Martin Luther
    Now it’s a real irony that you can buy Luther as an icon. Because Luther hated to make much of himself. He did not want to become history...he wanted the world to know HIS story...that’s God’s amazing story of salvation.
    We often hear the story from a historical point of view, but let’s see what happened spiritually here.
    Around 30 AD Jesus had given his life and the way was open for every man and woman to come freely to God by confessing their sins. Now those who confessed their sins were later called christians and grouped together as one family to encourage each other. As new members would come in, the older would teach the newbies.
    That’s when something terrible happened. The older folks deviated from the word of God and added unnecessary rules. After them others stood up who lusted after power and they understood that they would have total authority over the christians if they could cut the communication between the people and Jesus Christ. So they had to interfere in two sections: Prayer & Scriptures.
    So in regards to prayer, they taught that there is a middle person between God and man. The Bible however clearly says: For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
    The second step was to give only the church the authority to interpret the Bible and to actually read it in language that nobody was speaking at this time: Latin.
    That’s when in 1415 a man stood up with the name of Ian Hus. That’s 100 years before Martin Luther. He read the Bible and said: Wait a minute. That’s different to what the church teaches. So the church said: Wait a minute, we are going to burn you at the stake.
    And that’s precisely what they did. But before Ian died, chanting in the flame, he said: "Today you all bake a goose (referring to his last name which meant Goose), but there comes a swan which you won't be able to cook."
    This swan came 100 years later. They tried to cook it, but they couldn’t. His name was Martin Luther and he destroyed the Catholic Church.

    Martin Luther believed that Mary should be held in highest reverence, advocating the use of the first half of the Hail Mary (that is, "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.") as a sign of reverence for and devotion to the Virgin

    Thanks for the "cliff notes" or "reformation for knuckle draggers". As a member of the aforementioned knuckle draggers club... this was truly helpful for me to understand this season of life. The explanation helped clarify a deep frustration with the present day church. Martin Luther cracked the enigma code of control by the Church leadership, who seemed to turn into the Pharisees and Sadducees.

      I am Catholic, but believe Martin Luther, as a theologian, did the right thing to address the middle ages Church, in an era where there was a lot of magical thinking, superstition, and oral ideas passed along, at a time where we did not have mass printing of books. It did not need to turn into the kind of fight that came of it, and is still continuing today, to divide the Church. I agree, that is a wrong spirit. Blessings.

    Good historical information. Somewhat entertaining as well. Sadly we need more people like Martin Luther these days as the protestant church has completely left Bible teaching in order not to offend and to attract a young unchurched audience. I see most churches don't follow the Bible anymore. They accept homosexuality and other things the Bible specifically speaks against. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

      Please do your research darling, the bible doesn't actually condemn homosexuality, that's a cultural bias, from misguided people who falsely interpreted the words of the Lord. They took a scripture from the bible, mistranslated it, and used it out of context. Do as Luther did, and don't let some third-party person sway the words of God. Homosexuality is not a sin.

For me personally, I have scrutinised the Bible and come to the conclusion that it is the only authority in my life. Not man, not tradition of men, not my brain or feelings, but the Bible alone. This is the revelation that Luther made. Sola Scriptura. He was a new man from that day on and never repented of his choice. Millions did follow him and never regretted it. Lutheran always saw himself as a Catholic, an Evangelical Catholic.
    The core of this video is right but he wasn't against a Church structure of priests and Bishops.
    I don't know why you put such negative emphasis on the word 'Religion' either.
    I say become Lutheran! The true expression of Christianity!

      Jesus leads people. I saw a miraculous answer when I prayed where to attend church. I was led to be Catholic, which has changed drastically since the middle ages, and the era of supersititous magical thinking and pilgrimmages to relics. Blessings. We are all the Body of Christ, if we are Christian, and Jesus is our head.

    how can you say you believe but does not have work??. for believe or to have faith requires work (james 2:14)

    • @crosspaint
      @crosspaint  2 года назад

      My brethren, what shall it profit, if any man say that he hath faith, but he hath not works? whether faith shall be able to save him? (James 2:14)
      Works is proof you have faith. (Matthew 7:15-20)
      Or in biblical terms, by the fruit you will know the tree.
      But clearly works doesn't GIVE you faith, it's the consequence of faith.

    • @cchemmes5831
      @cchemmes5831 3 года назад

      @@kiran-yz8io Different denominations will gather scholars of their church to translate the existing ancient texts. Plus, the common language is always changing over time. The old language seen in the King James is a good example of using outdated English words. The good thing is that the church safeguards ancient texts of the Bible, in the original languages, that can be used for a modern interpretation. I believe the NABRE is best, because it was translated by a large group of scholars, with extreme standards for fidelity to the original texts.
