Touring shows generally show up by 7AM unload, rig and test everything, sound and lighting by 4 PM. After the show, everything is broken down, packed and loaded. The trucks are out the door by 2:00 AM and on the road to the next venue. Very hard, physical work and long hours, but the pay is astounding. Back in the ‘70’s roadies we’re pulling down $2,000/week.
I just filled out my Application for the University this is exactly what I'm trying to get into Lighting has been my profession in theatre for 3 years I was even the head of lighting and lighting technician / Designer at my school and out of over a thousand kids in the school I was the only one who knew the aspects of lighting and the board. I'm So Excited!!
Damn dude i feel you, I regret not getting into the tech theatre scene my freshman year, I pretty much run the building and the teacher is there as backup and extra help
Hahahahha only 100 cues?? My school drama production has about 300-400 cues and most of them are intelligent lights and some projections... It took me about 6 hours of constant working and a whole bunch of things thrown out the window in fustration.... If you do your job right, people won't even notice your work... If people start looking for you, then you fucked up or did something wrong
I like how she talks about lighting designers and show a picture of a Sound console

100 cues is a SMALL show just so yall know
This video made me mad!! the girl used the wrong terms through out the video. She also said the sound board was the lighting console.

I kinda dislike those kinda jobs tbh
not only are they showing pictures of sound consoles when ever they talk about lighting but they've also got the powerlock in the wrong sockets.
I love this stuff
Of course it is.
