New text layer Ok seriously think I maybe need to hire an editor 😂 who agrees Sorry about the errors in this one, will be posting a link to an unlisted version 2 without those uhhh mistakes
@yaa moirangcha I would say a decent quality green laser as the beam will go further and be fairly visible. Definitely something of decent quality because the one I got died. You could use red but it doesn't show up quite as well or go quite as far. After all green is usually used for pointing out Stars and driving airplanes crazy.
So your job is one people dream of having but then have nightmares about. It is filled with the most amazing scenes and also the highest anxiety!! But man I truly can appreciate what you do after watching this series. Thank You For Sharing Your Journey Brother it was truly an amazing art to watch.
I have been with you for awhile. Its really awesome to see how you have grown!!! In the begining, you taught me how to diagnose and fix fixture problems, now your running huge festivals!!! All i can say is AWESOME! Keep on Keeping on my friend!!!!
Whoa, Rocca is actually born in the same city I was (Curitiba, Brazil). Lots of LDs and DJs from Brazil actually came from here or live/lived here. Its very cool to see that the art we do connect more people that we cant even think of!
Looks amazing! I've been doing lighting for a theatre group and it's really cool to see where things could one day lead. I've jumped in the deep end with virtually no experience and am pretty proud of what I've done so far in such a short time. Way more fun than I expected.
Hey! Love this series! Do you plan on making a video of the creative process of designing a stage? Would be soo interesting! Thanks for your vids , love them
I might be able to build/create a big stage where i am at, like in my big outdoor property and stuff like that. Not a huge massive stage or a medium size. A small size stage that can probably fit like 2 up hanging ' Short ' Line-Arrays speakers and also some DMX Lights and also my DJ Set. I can't really explain or think of it all...
You are both Patient and Meticulous , while being completely understanding and Calm of the reality of your situation. This is why you are likely a "Go to" name/LD in your industry.
Wow, this reminds me of gigging in Jamaica for Reggae Sumfest and other festivals in the Caribbean back in the early 90's. (Genny guy not paid, funky gear, etc.) As for the carni-rific strap on the cross-bar, I feel ya. When I lived in Guangzhou, I was invited by another lighting company to come see one of their shows. I had to hold my mouth closed at what I saw ... It was a rather sizable stage *_and_* sound/light/video rig built *_completely_* out of bamboo! I hope you got to ride the MagLev train to and from the airport!
I was out in Shanghai a couple of years back doing sound/lighting, fascinating place! The view from the top of the Bund tower is immense...!! It's also great fun working out technical problems with local people, you always get there in the end yes, somehow!! Great video!
Wow, I am a small time DJ in Australia just going through some decisions around DMX programming hardware and software options..... Your world is next level times 1000+!! Thanks for the walkthrough of your setup days.... Very inspiring.... if I was not so old LOL!
yeah thats basically how the problems at all of our events a school look like. no just kidding we have problems like getting the equipment to late from the rental company or having not enough time to set it all up cause we're getting bigger and bigger with our setups. last time we went with 12 lacoustics kara (2x5 main rigging, 2x1 front fill), 4 KS28, 2 SB18 (used as x-over in rigging) and 6 x12 for monitoring. For light stuff we went with 12 JB Lighting P7, 8 Robe Spiider, 4 JB P18, 8 SGM Q-7W, 12 ClayPaky ShowBatten100, 16 TourLED 42cm and a GrandMA 2 Light. We had one day for all of the setup. The event was on the next day but we needed the time for the soundcheck with the bands and all the other stuff. Even though it was very stressful, we managed to finish in time and it was a heck of a lot fun. love your videos:)))))
Hi Christian! Big fan of your videos where I do get to learn a lot of MA2 stuff. One thing I'm not getting any smarter with is using wings. I see several operators and people use wing just by using /wings=2 or similar to create pretty cool symmetrical effects. Whenever I try that the wing spreads out across multiple LX's or when I (for example) add fixture 1 thru 12 (spots) and fixture 13 thru 24 (washes) to an effect where the washes are placed in between the spots where 1 is most left and 12 is most right... The wing will ofcourse start off at fixture 1 and 24... I'd love to see a detailed video about this stuff and maybe some more cool, easy, handy effect related stuff. 👍 You're a legend.. Keep up!
Christian Jackson last fest I worked with my crew was northern nights and fuck my buddies couldn’t Tec lights till the day of show , such a short pull off but as you said , shows always come together last min basically haha
I've just seen this trilogy six months delayed, I have to take my hat off to you for your patience in such an environment! Well done on the main stage design, very nice, I did like the second stage more as an innovative design though. Keep up the good work! Editor - yes, and less wobbly bodycam...
I don't know if it's seen fun for you to do but you should make a reaction video for festival lightshows like decibel endshow, defqon endshow, qlimax, hardbass. I do think we have the best party's here in the Netherlands. 😁
This kinda makes me want to try to get into event technician again but I think my current goal, paramedic, is the way to go for me. 😁 But seeing this really makes my heart scream a bit 😣
next time you do something this size and complexity, put one of your consoles on a case on stage and run out 100' of Cat5 and save yourself that walk to FOH every time you need to check something at the desk.
amazing stuff, and dont let a few mistakes bring down your confidence, you dont make them often and i like your editing style, the only reason id agree with you getting an editor is if the time spent is too exhausting for you, but if not, keep doing it yourself, your great!
@11:29 the strips blue and green have different speeds somehow, it's in the light blue chase, but when it turns off it goes dark blue for one or two pixels at the end of the chase. Ah good old china fixtures. This and that delay on some of the moving heads you talk about later is why I can't deal with china lights.
It reminds me of my work, I wish I could understand all the videos you share , love from Vietnam , I’m lighting too , but I am a supporter 😅 , I want to learn more from you
Hello ! I discovered your channel not so long ago and I am passionate about lights. For this Christmas, I'd like to get into the dmx with software like sweetlight or sunlight. I have a budget of maximum 200-300 €. I would like to have advice to start well.
Mr. Jackson, your job looks like so much fun! I am very passionate about music and enjoy engineering and problem solving. My question is this, how would I get into this line of work and what experience would I need in order to get hired onto a crew? Thanks! :)
@@Mrrandomombly thanks for the reply. Sadly I live in a town that doesn't have any and the nearest ones are a good distance away. I'm going to call around though and check about maybe shadowing someone to see if it is something I'm interested in. I want to get in with a company that goes around the country and such. Do you know any companies?
TXARMYOWENS not really. Generally you start as a Warehouse person, but if u wanna travel the country I recommend trying to find a touring band/singer. It might be real hard though if u got no experience. I understand what you mean with no companies in your area. For me i travel like 30-45 to get to where i work but i guess you gotta do what you gotta do 🤷🏻♂️😊

The new text layer was the best part ;)
Made me laught too haha
No editor needed, I like your edits
You’re doing great no editors for you as always 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
well, there’s your next twitter name
You need a laser pointer with a visible beam. Would help with communication when pointing out things that are far out of reach or at a distance.
@yaa moirangcha I would say a decent quality green laser as the beam will go further and be fairly visible. Definitely something of decent quality because the one I got died. @yaa moirangcha Wicked Lasers cells some quality stuff.
Hello
you need haze for a visible beam, no matter what color the laser is
@@rev_dude Not true, dust or even moisture in the air is usually enough.
I really like the go pro footage, just so easy to see what you see

This is a fantastic stage! Congratulations on a successful build and show. I am absolutely not surprised you ran a rig this big.

Not sure how I got to this video, but I found it very intertaining and informative.
This looks way fun. Do you have a vlog describing like, how you got where you are today in your career?
Its a big stage Christian. Following you man
It’s so interesting to see how people trouble shoot the lights before the show! And it’s shocking that this amount of problem will happen.

No toilets = no pizza I guess!
Awesome job on the lights! 25:50 very cool.
Damn the stage is increddible! But there are so little people!
Yeah that was rather unfortunate
I have no idea what you're talking about but cooooooool

I love that stage, it’s awesome 😎 and what was the smoke 💨 smoke machine upriser called
I love to sing DJ on that stage,
Love the D5 BS movers. They're not an Elation knock off in my opinion. UK based company Equinox are coming out with a similar unit.
So what was your take on the Chinese lights? they aren't the standard quality lights like Robe/ClayPaky/VL/GLP to name a few..
10th of the price is a major factor here
duy nguyen Robe

there was not just a strap there, there was also a clamp, on the other side of the truss :) or at least, it looked like that

was all the stage stuff ip65 rated, like the ( co2 )smoke machines and the movers, oh and great vid as always
At least you're booting Linux on the big screen. That makes it all worth it!
Nice stage.
But why do all light jockeys use all light fx *at the same time* ?
Sometimes, the stage is bright like on a sunny sunday afternoon...
10:37 just burning the stage down with some MHs 🤣
I am your loyal fan! Can you share the SHOW file of this program and would like to learn your usage.
