    Fisher Paykel model DD24SAX9 N single draw dish washer error code A6. Remedy was to replace the single water inlet valve part number 529827 24volt $18.00
    Turn the breaker and water flow to the dishwasher off.
    Push the clips on the bottom sides of the draw and then push the rails/slides all the way in while pulling the draw out, be care to not bend the water lines and power cord. You have just enough room to lean the draw up and out of the way. Then take a small flat head screw driver and remove the plastic cover that’s covering the electronics etc. Pull the old inlet valve out of its holding spot (just gravity holding it there) and then detach the tiny 24v 2 wire electric cord connector from the water inlet valve, next put a thick towel under the water inlet valve that you’re replacing to catch residual water and unscrew the water input, next remove the blew hose clip (I used 2 tiny flat head screw drivers to separate the teeth) and then use a small flat head screw driver and work the hose off of the water valve and then pull the hose all the way off. Keep the old valve in case this isn’t what’s wrong with your unit. Put the new unit in reversing the steps said above. Test the dish washer for 5 minutes running water etc through the unit then turn the unit off and then after letting the water drip from the top of the dishwasher into the draw for 30 minutes, open the dish washer and shine a flash light under the draw and check for any leaks.

    Thanks for this review. I’m researching drawer dishwasher for my house, Specifically the ones with the double drawers. My dishwasher is all set to the right of my sink so I like that set up currently, I just don’t like the dishwashers with the fold down doors because my kitchen is super small and that doesn’t work for the space.

    Hi, Just wondering, what is your opinion on the fact that the walls and base are plastic vs a traditional stainless steel? Also, what material are the racks? Are they a solid plastic or a metal with some sort of coating. Tried to ask F&P and they couldnt even tell me lol. Thanks!

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  2 года назад +2

      The plastic used in the basin/surround seems to be a higher quality blend, or at least doesn't feel cheap if that makes sense. I believe the main racks are metal with traditional coating on them. The flip down on sides are plastic. It seems well made overall. I wonder if there's a specific engineering reason they went with plastic vs stainless steel perhaps? They use them in $1-2M coaches and sometimes even in homes stacked one on top of another so it seems to be a good quality product.

    If you don’t put a full set of dishes & pots in the dishwasher that you use for the meal you don’t know what it holds, does it hold 4,6,8??? place settings, dinner plates,lunch plates & Bowles + silverware glasses & then whatever pans or pots you used to cook the meal ? Not everyone has unlimited amounts of water & would like to run the dishwasher once a day if possible. In my case it’s
    because of disability & physical necessity. can you possibly let me know what it really holds for one run, Thank You. Very much

    Amazon shows "currently unavailable" for model DD24SAX9N (the one you recommended). They do have model DD24SAX9 - (no N at the end of the model number) which has similar dimensions (22.57"D x 23.57"W x 16.13"H). Any idea what the difference is between the 2 models or are they one and the same? I plan to install it on a 2023 Jayco Northpoint 377RLBH. Also, what kind of dishwashing soap do you use on yours? Anything RV specific or any dishwashing soap would do?

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  Год назад +1

      As far as I can tell, they appear to be identical. I'm not sure what that N is at the end. It almost seems interchangeable? As far as the dishwashing soap, so far I've just been using Cascade Complete powder, which seems to work just fine. They said only use powdered soap and no liquid. Or you can use the tablets that dissolve.

      After some measurements, decided to go with the 7 series and the tall model. That means that I'll have to modify the top and bottom rails, but that's what I have a vibratory tool for. The taller model allows for a little taller dishes, and was only a $100 more...

    I ordered a Forest River destination trailer because I want to live next to my son and the only way I could do that is to live in something "not permanent." I chose a Forest River Cedar Creek 40CFK2 (front kitchen) because I could have a luxury QUEEN bed, washer and dryer, AND a dishwasher. The Fisher Paykel is what is being offered for the 2023 and 24 models and I guess I'm getting a '24 model since it's being built as I write this.
    However, even the sales guy couldn't tell me anything about the dishwasher. I just rechecked the specs from the order and the FP is the one I ordered, however, although I know it will go on the right side of the front kitchen counter under the front windows, they still can't tell me if there will be a standard kitchen drawer above the DW or below it.
    I am only 5'2" so I wouldn't want to straddle the dishwasher under the sink. I am also almost 80 and wouldn't want to have to bend that far down to load and unload it, as you have to do. However, your rationale for having a dishwasher is spot on and it never occurred to me how much water using it saves, although I'll be hooked up to the house well, septic, electric, and propane.
    Your installation instructions were great. In my house, we had to do some similar revamping to install a replacement oven and built-in microwave years ago by cutting off some extra wood and moving it to another location. Also, we replaced a kitchen faucet with a pull-down sprayer and every now and then it gets hooked on the pipes under the sink so I will try your bungee cord tip. Genius.
    I am moving from 10 acres and a 2500 sq. ft. home (onto 19 acres next to a 3500 sq. ft. home) into the 40CFK2 so that will be a dramatic change. But I'll have my washer and dryer, and my FP Dishwasher, so that is all I need.
    I must watch your other videos as this one was really helpful. Thanks for taking the time to make it.

    Awesome video, it's the best RV dishwasher installation video I've seen. You explain the installation process very well. Question, what about the air gap? Or did you loop the drain hose up high before connecting it to the T-piece? Thanks!

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  Год назад

      Thank you. Yes, great question. FP just recommends a "high loop" instead of a physical/mechanical air gap assuming you have the clearance. So FP provided one of those upsidedown "U" loops for the drain hose in lieu of mechanical air gap. I don't have a great pic/shot of it in video, but you can barely see it at timecode 9:16 and 28:21. I just fasened it up high right under the countertop height. A lot of jurisdictions for residential code allow the "high loop" instead of mechanical air gap if a full 32" of vertical space exist, and thankfully that is case with the counter height in my Pinnacle.

    • @darrinhiebert
      @darrinhiebert 2 года назад +2

      After having just installed the FisherPaykel unit, I would recommend the unit AdventureRocks installed. If you have general repair skills, I don't think that this install is all that complicated. Sure, the Vesta is nice, since you don't actually have to make any changes to the cabinet, but the hardest part with the FP is actually removing the side rail (which come out with 4 screws) and installing cribbing of some kind to move the bottom of the cabinet up. Pretty easy changes in the end.
      As a side note, we LOVE ours. We love ours, probably because we HATE our farm sink. It is nice, farm sink or not, to just throw your dishes in there, and hit go, walk away and go and do something else! Good luck, with whatever you decide.

    I am wondering why you connected to the hot water supply as the manual say to connect to the cold water. As I think the hot water would be efficient electricity when wild camping. Very much liked your video.

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  Год назад +2

      Thank you. Yes, for dishwashers you'll always want to connect to the hot water supply. Most dishwashers usually have a booster to make the water hotter, but they can't get it completely hot on their own. It's possible the manual suggests using cold water as an alternate if you don't have hot, but I would not recommend that... don't think it'd clean very well.

    • @AdventureRocks

      Not consistently with dishwasher, but I do get it once in a while in various other scenarios. I'm suspicious one of the air admittance valves is malfunctioning, but it's only intermittent for me at this point so haven't been able to nail it down yet.

      @@darrinhiebert Agreed, hard to trace. Sometimes I wonder if while in transit the wind rushing outside forces air down from the roof vent into tank and then out the air admittance valves. In several of my past RVs seemed like I'd only get the smell after transit or after intense winds. Always something to figure out, right?

    Question....how deep is your sink and with a more shallow sink would I be able to keep the electric and hoses in the space between the sink and dishwasher as opposed to the left hand side. Finally if I do have to keep it to the one side what is the minimum area you would recommend as I don't have that same set up where my dish drawer is going. Thank you in advance!!!

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  Год назад +1

      So on my specific model the water hose, drain, and electrical are all located on the back bottom left corner where it exits the unit. I suppose it's possible to bend them toward the top if your sink is shallower, but then you definitely have to have enough clearance behind the unit to allow the water line to flex without kinking. But from a serviceability standpoint it probably is easier to have the water, electrical and drain located off to the side so that you could service things without having to pull the dishwasher out each time. The p-trap under your sink might be the lowest point and would determine how much clearance you have. Fisher paykel also makes a few different models with different heights too if that helps to know.

      Hi @@AdventureRocks Do you mind sharing the Depth of your sink that works for your setup? I'm looking into a similar set up - sink on top of F&P DW due to lack of space. Currently I have standard 36" tall countertop and the sink on top of a GE Spacesaver Over-the-Sink DW and the plumping is offset to the left at the back and partially behind the adjacent cabinet (but open to changing the plumbing to make this new set up work e.g. have it between the gap of sink and DW)Thanks in advance! (Fisher Paykel recommends a high hung loop in order for the draining to work so want to see what size of sink I should buy)

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@htritah I just sold my Pinnacle otherwise I'd offer to measure it for you. But, if it helps to know I believe there was approximately 6-8" between bottom of sink and top of DW. Basically you just need enough room under sink for your p trap or as in my case the hepvo valve (waterless trap). Then the actual drain for DW on mine was further off to the left side of cabinet (seperate from sink) and higher up as you alluded.
