Bloom occcurs on all leather. All you do it run the hair dryer over it until the white bloom disappears. THEN you can condition it. I own 150 leather in's and this always works.
Wow! Just saw this video! You did a fantastic job! I’d be freaking out, crying, and ready to destroy them! But as always a little care goes a LONG way! They are beautiful, like having brand new used TN’s! 😂. Please do an update if you haven’t already! Thank you!
Finally catching up on RUclips videos. I just did something similar with a wood table that got moldy in shipping. I know you said it was old and the mound hadn’t grown but I’d wipe with a moist cloth not brush it … that could send mould spores floating.
I’m currently re-watching this vid (mostly because ✨satisfying ✨) and I just had to ask, I believe it’s the second journal you tend to in the video, the one with all the white pictures on it, that you only conditioned…. Are those stamps?? Did you do it yourself? And if so, do you think we could maybe get a tutorial on how to do that?? It would be such a treat! I’m absolutely so in love! I’d definitely consider myself still more of a newbie when it comes to TN’s, pretty much all leather so my knowledge is pretty nonexistent about what I can or can’t do! T.I.A. & much love ☺️
Thank you! Yes those are stamps. I used to keep a lot of stamps years back but I have already sold most of them and even the ink! It's not that hard, all you need to do is find a suitable ink to use on leather then that's great! Sadly I won't be able to do a video on that as I don't have those with me anymore.
I think hydrogen peroxide is better.. you need to kill the fungus.. n than than clean it with a dam cloth after than dry it under the sun than you apply the conditioner.. if you apply the conditioner before it’s dry , you are sealing the moisture inside the leather
Hahaha!! Sorry for that. I had no idea and dont remember what I actually did! Anyway I shared a video of it After - ruclips.net/video/B97ewzEADkk/видео.html

Thanks for this awesome tip! I will try it soon
How long does it usually take for bloom to occur and what causes it im still new to TNs
Brilliant! Great job on those. That was quite therapeutic 🙂👍🏻 Nice to see well used TN’s
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks for the tips!
I love the way they turned out; you have a beautiful collection! Did you leave them in the sun for a bit to dry them out completely?
of course! thank you 🙂
Hi, thanks for sharing. Does it bother you that the mildew spots got darker? Did they eventually even out?
Not at all.

Heya, how did ya clean the inside part of the leather cover?
i just wipe it :)

Thank you for your concern! I am not really bothered by any of the molds at all actually! But it may be a good tip for others!
Where can we buy these type of journal’s online? Please let me know
It's in the description box
Love the video! But girl wear gloves next time! Mold exposure to your skin can cause rashes and sometimes fungal infection :(
thank you for the tip! the mould is actually kind of dried up for years and did not spread.
Baking Soda or Baking Powder? Your canister says "powder". :(
It's soda but I used the wrong ones lol
Baking powder and baking soda are different!!! You refer to baking soda in subtitle, but used baking powder...

👍🤗
How does that happen?
Ah well i guess i left them sit in a moist area without frequent use and these journals are more than 7 years old? these are my archived journals.
The ziplock bag probably didn’t help - no room for air to circulate.
Leather needs to breath in storage. I store my leather shoes and products in breathable cloth. I do examine the products once in a while.
