I remember the OG Pulsar back in the 70s. They were very expensive. In the early 80s, Casio and Seiko came out with much less expensive LCDs that showed the time without having to push the button. The pretty much killed off the LED watch. It's good to see LED options back for watch lovers.
I was wearing a Belami LED watch, but the battery ran out, so I tried to buy a cheap Casio model A168WA-1A2WJR, but I happened to find two of these, red and blue, on the flea market app, so I bought it.
I believe it actually has mineral glass, mine has no scratches and if it were acrylic like many of my others it would be scratched up after the amount ive worn and bumped it, so i believe its at least mineral crystal
I remember 1973 watching James Bond in the theater. I was impressed with the LED watch. At that time that Hamilton Pulsar watch cost more than a Rolex Submariner. In 1971 my buddy bought a new in the box Submariner in Switzerland for $165 USD. I bought a new in the box Omega Seamaster 120 on the beads of rice bracelet for $67 USD. I like this LED watch especially with the red LED. And I have Polywatch to remove any scratches on the acrylic crystal. Sapphire and a screw down case back would be nice but you're not getting that for $35. Thanks for your review. BTW I think that Casio is ugly.
Everyone complains about the bracelet but it’s actually quite good for the price. I seen one where the guy compared the bracelet to a Tudor🤣🤣🤣 I’m like no way the Tudor bracelet is better?!?? Lol
Nope, that was why Lcd took over, it could run for years on battery with always on display, led is like little light bulbs, if it was on all the time it would last weeks
The Hamilton actually a reproduction Pulsar P2 "The Time Computer". And it was a Pulsar P2 that featured in Live And Let Die. They had to brand the reproduction as Hamilton though, not Pulsar, because the Hamilton Watch Co sold the Pulsar brand to Seiko in about 1977, when the original HWC went bust. In HWC's original '70s marketing for their LED watches it was always the Pulsar brand. And in the credits for Live And Let Die it states "Pulsar, The Time Computer", underneath "Rolex, Inc."
Very cool retro watch love the red led !!!!!!!
Agreed, my favorite combo with the stainless finish. Thanks for watching!

@@nobetagear i returned it, garbage watch
I remember many people had these in the mid-70’s. My uncle had one, and he wasn’t wealthy. I bet they were $50 then. They are so cool.

I have this watch and I bought it specifically because of Moonraker :) I agree the digits are too large but for the price you can't beat it.
To do the Moonraker look properly you really need to be sporting a Seiko M354-5019, along with appropriate safari suit and hovercraft gondola.
@@michaelturner4457 On it!
Nice review! Thank you! Is the calendar perpetual?
Much appreciated…I believe the calendar on my copy is perpetual through 2099. Thanks so much for tuning in!

Great video!
It is a 16mm lug though.
Can you get the eatch to display the time all the time or is it a battery consumption problem?

@valley_robot thx :)

The links to the Armitron and Hamilton are already dead 🙈.
I read a review that said it was junk and fell apart right out of the box. I hope not I want one for my son
I have had mine for years and still going strong.
The digits are too big. Should have been the 1970s calculator LED style instead to really be retro.
Good point, thanks for watching!
