At this part in the game, I just stood in the entrance listening to this. Bioshock Infinite is the reason why I always love to point out when a game has an amazing soundtrack and score.
I love all Bioshock games equally, but Infinite is hands down easily my favorite game ever made, right next to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Last of Us. Games that leave me feeling empty and conflicted after the end are masterpiece's in my eyes
The first time I played this and I saw this intro with the choir, the candles, and the water filled procession I just stopped and sat in awe taking it in. One of the most memorable and beautiful intros to a game I've ever seen.

This part of the game, man.... Very few games nowadays have touching or mesmerizing moments like this. And it was just the freakin' beginning!!! I was one of those that had to stop just to listen to the music... Something I didn't have done in gaming since the PS1 days. I love the contrast between Infinjte and the previous two games. Your introduction to Rapture in the first game told you something was clearly wrong from the start with its dramatic orchestration. Infinite on the other hand has this really calming atmosphere to its opening, but there’s just something that feels… off about it, as if you feel like something isn’t right.
This song has been in my head everyday since playing (and beating) the Complete Edition on the Switch. Late to the party, but I absolutely loved this game 👏🏽
I love reading these comments, Bioshock is one of my favorite game series and I CANNOT wait for the new one and the netflix movie. It makes me happy to see other people enjoy the game as much as I do and appreciate the game for more than just the gameplay.
Say what you will about the game as a whole, but the beginning of this game was absolutely fantastic. The spectacle of the intro and the first mission is one of the best I've seen in any game
They didn't, this is a custom version of the song. Look up the lyrics, this one is actually better. Only thing they kept was; Will the circle be unbroken By and by, by and by? After a near decade long hiatus after beating the game, I finally returned to the city of Columbia and re-living the past and beat it once more now understanding the story now that I grew up. I played this game on launch because I’d happened to see an ad that week, never had heard of the BioShock series before. This remains my favorite game to this day and I’m still so enamored, I’ve never wavered on it and I’d just about die for another Ken Levine masterpiece today. Hell, if anything its themes are more relevant today than ever. We are so so lucky creatives like Levine share their brain with us.
Even 10 years later after playing Infinity on christmas eve the song comes every christmas time over and over back in to my head ❤ It`s such an emotional catching game with so many love in detail. Thank you for the experience.
This is my favorite single player story drven game of all time. I have tattoos including AD on my right hand. This opening and music rip at my heart and now at 40 years old, make me think of friends and family ive lost and the few times i almost gave up on my own life. But got to be real and honest. EVERY single time i first see the water running down the stairs, i think, That is a slip hazard and a half! This place gunna get sued. For real tho this game is etched into my heart and is simply art and poetry in terms of storytelling imo.
We dont have memorable games like these anymore. Arena and monetization, and live service games have taken over the industry. The golden age of gaming was incredible 😍
Pretty sure the original is meant to be a Christmas carol or it was first sung around Christmas time roughly in 1920s I think. Surprisingly there wasn’t much on this hymn. Sorry if I’m late lol
When I heard this at first, I was like there is no way this is an action game. I mean it was so peaceful. The soundtracks of this series is just phenomenal.
Back again to comment as I just can't forget this , now and then it pops into my mind , sometimes drunk .... like right now . And somehow it hits different
It's funny how everyone's talking about Bioshock but don't think about what the song is actually saying. This song came out in 1907. It talks about death and heaven. It makes sense that it's in Bioshock infinite (I loved the game btw, excellent storyline) because its set in 1912 and talks of Booker's conversion and then creating a place that tries to resemble heaven. Even though those were not his real intentions. There were several remakes of the song but in Bioshock, it plays the original.
Basically, it talks about loved ones passing away saying that the immediate family circle here on earth has been broken but will it be complete in heaven?
It's not asking whether heaven exists but rather acknowledges that it does and will we join our loved ones in heaven? In parts of the song, it says "Do you love the hymns they taught you, Or are songs of earth your choice?"..."Here the circle has been broken- Will it be complete one day?" Probably hints do we love God more or the things this world and that based on our choices will we be reunited with our loved ones in heaven after we die. Because obviously, we all will die. I just thought it was an interesting song when I read the lyrics. Here's the lyrics btw: There are loved ones in the glory, Whose dear forms you often miss; When you close your earthly story, Will you join them in their bliss? Refrain (Chorus): Will the circle be unbroken By and by, by and by?- In a better home awaiting In the sky, in the sky. In the joyous days of childhood, Oft they told of wondrous love, Pointed to the dying Savior; Now they dwell with Him above. You remember songs of heaven Which you sang with childish voice, Do you love the hymns they taught you, Or are songs of earth your choice? You can picture happy gath’rings ’Round the fireside long ago, And you think of tearful partings, When they left you here below. One by one their seats were emptied, One by one they went away; Here the circle has been broken- Will it be complete one day?

Again, many thanks friend!
Killian
I played this game on launch because I’d happened to see an ad that week, never had heard of the BioShock series before. This remains my favorite game to this day and I’m still so enamored, I’ve never wavered on it and I’d just about die for another Ken Levine masterpiece today. Hell, if anything its themes are more relevant today than ever. We are so so lucky creatives like Levine share their brain with us.
Is it me or does anybody else get a warm tingly feeling to this song
This will be the song that rings in my head the moment love ever comes back to me
x2
Bioshock was ahead of his time in every single way .
Even 10 years later after playing Infinity on christmas eve the song comes every christmas time over and over back in to my head ❤
It`s such an emotional catching game with so many love in detail. Thank you for the experience.
This is truly beautiful.
If this would be the last thing I hear in my life then it is worth waiting for.
Thank you very much for this! truly a beautiful game
В том моменте в игре, я остановился там на пол часа и слушал её....
Ты не один так поступил. Ты просто раньше нас написал этот комментарий 😂
This is soooooo incredibly beautiful!! :') I wish I could download it....but I can't find this exact version :'((
Catherin Moon google RUclips to Mp3 and you can download the audio of this video
Thank you! It worked! ^.^
Catherin Moon play the game then ur allowed to download don’t play around with this ART game
“Heaven, or as close as we’ll get until judgement day”
Thank you for taking the time to upload these wonderful songs :)
Just played through this game, worth every penny.

He doesn’t ROW?
@@keeemdarrel no, he DOESN'T row
@@RebirthOfJackahh, I see what you mean
I wish I could play this game again for the first time
I'm not religious in the slightest but this is so beautiful and never fails to give me some strong feelings.
Rest In Peace Franklin
What a Beautiful song. I Really Love it. Thanks !
I'm not even in the Jesus fandom and this rendition of the song touches me
I love this, it’s so relaxing
me in the cologne cathedral.
Wenn sie solche Musik im Kölner Dom spielen, dann wäre ich öfter dort 👍🏻
@@nerdenheimer4506 ich auch.

Reminds me of my parents, who are sadly no longer with us. Thanks for posting.
10 years since the release of the game, the intro was the most memorable part of the game to me, almost converted me to Christianity
Too bad your still a heathen
Feels like something you would hear in Farcry 5
We dont have memorable games like these anymore. Arena and monetization, and live service games have taken over the industry. The golden age of gaming was incredible 😍
This will forever be the best music in video game history
One of the best intros ever created for a game
Just like Christmas song... The intro so good.
Pretty sure the original is meant to be a Christmas carol or it was first sung around Christmas time roughly in 1920s I think. Surprisingly there wasn’t much on this hymn. Sorry if I’m late lol
@@progamingbrosyo5068 thank you for the info. Still in love with this song.
@@williamjohn4514 YES lol your welcome
amazing!!
I listened to this as my brother was playing the game and just wanted to start crying. This version is so beautiful.
When I see the pearly gates I better get a Columbia style welcoming or I’m gonna be pissed 😂
Bioshock is a thought and spiritual movement imho. i hope the next is the same
I’m not gonna lie, this would’ve been right at home in far cry 5 during any interaction with the Seed family.
The intro was stunning and I loved every bit of Columbia, then the raffle happened and I went ham on the security guards
Heaven, friend. Or as close as we'll see 'til judgement day.
When I heard this at first, I was like there is no way this is an action game. I mean it was so peaceful. The soundtracks of this series is just phenomenal.
When has religion in media ever been portrayed as implying anything else than bad things?
i stayed there until the song finished. i did that with god only knows, as well. its amazing you can just stand there and take it in.
Why can't I stop listening to this
Back again to comment as I just can't forget this , now and then it pops into my mind , sometimes drunk .... like right now .
In parts of the song, it says "Do you love the hymns they taught you,
Or are songs of earth your choice?"..."Here the circle has been broken-
Will it be complete one day?"
Probably hints do we love God more or the things this world and that based on our choices will we be reunited with our loved ones in heaven after we die. Because obviously, we all will die.
I just thought it was an interesting song when I read the lyrics. Here's the lyrics btw:
There are loved ones in the glory,
Whose dear forms you often miss;
When you close your earthly story,
Will you join them in their bliss?
Refrain (Chorus):
Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?-
In a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky.
In the joyous days of childhood,
Oft they told of wondrous love,
Pointed to the dying Savior;
Now they dwell with Him above.
You remember songs of heaven
Which you sang with childish voice,
Do you love the hymns they taught you,
Or are songs of earth your choice?
You can picture happy gath’rings
’Round the fireside long ago,
And you think of tearful partings,
When they left you here below.
One by one their seats were emptied,
One by one they went away;
Here the circle has been broken-
Will it be complete one day?
I love how I was spoiled on everything else in the game, and not this.
2019🖐️
luv this song
The lake, Booker came to there after Wounded Knee.
in the sky..oh in the sky
I can only think of brother where art thou when I hear this
Gospel music is really wonderful.

música maravilhosa!
duvido alguem nao parou para ouvir essa música nesse início do jogo.
harmonia e letra da musica perfeita.
excelente jogo....
10/10
Thanks for the upload. It won't let me screen record and under the official OST it doesn't have the same ring or sound to the piece in the game. This was touching and generous. Much appreciated :)
I hate to be that person, but they don’t make shit like this anymore! These games are lil gems
Games these days are just for money
@@Artikz_ idk I heard that The Last of Us 1 was really good and it is on my list to play. I also heard great Things about Life is Strange 1. Sadly most modern games are emphasizing Multiplayer instead of just being story based. I just want a good single player or even split screen Story rich game
i hope if i die god will send my soul to this place ( this city in a first game opening )
just replayed it. now im sad
@@jollygamerguy this comment when i play this game in few hours . and now im finish it and listen again . it's make me sad like my soul in a cage as hell :(
I can’t understand why everyone hates this game! After playing the game and understanding the deeper meanings to the whole game and listening to the music and sound tracks I can definitely say that this game impacted me the most in a little while. A master piece.
I don't think everyone hates this game
@@elysiumstation a lot of people do though especially because it has its own separate timeline and location.
Look up..."the bioshock we never got"...you will see why somepeople didn't really like this game...but if you ask me it has to be the best single player game I ever played handsdown
@@debusinha9015 I enjoyed this bioshock game a lot can’t compared to others
I played BioShock 1 first but I still think Infinite was the best game ever. Sure it's different, very different. But it's also very well executed and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Is it me or is this the most beautiful song we ever heard this song makes me wanna cry tears of joy the Lord is our savior we are all brothers and sisters in God's name no matter what color we are God made us for a reason
Kiani Rainey yep :)))))))
Amen brother.....when I heard this I remembered the hymn
Yes exactly
Please forgive us for our sins
AMEN! Lord Jesus himself would shed a tear listening to this! ❤️
