I've been in love with this man's voice, style and looks since the 70s when I first saw him in concert. He's my number one pick for the best of the best!
@@fw1421 Two years older and have seen him several times as well, with Cream, Blind Faith and with his long time present band. The guy is a legend but compared to other artists of that era, his shows are much shorter, which is my only knock
I love how CLAPTON gives other musicians in the band opportunities to shine. He's got nothing to prove and doesn't need to be a egomaniac and rip into self-aggrandizing 20 minute guitar Jams that so many musicians do. It's about the song, the music, the groove, everyone having a good time and feeling good, and that's it.
Easily the best bassist for Clapton. I can tell when he is on bass. It just doesn't "sound" like Clapton to me without East. The little ghost notes East adds in at just the right time. And, his energy and stage presence is fantastic. It is quite obvious East loves playing with Clapton... and it is equally obvious Clapton loves playing with East.
If you are referring to the opening....when EC plays "God Save the Queen" he is, of course, a Member of the Knighthood, bestowed by Her Grace. Once thats been performed, he launches as only Slow Hand does.
@@donf3877 without a doubt your comment is on point. Nathan East is absolutely the go-to guy when it comes to bass players he has played in many top tier bands ! Steve gadd Eric Clapton and Nathan East keeps time better than $100,000 Rolex!!!
Eric Clapton is the best in the world period. Give credit where credit is due once and for all. Jimmy Hendrix died in 1970 52 yrs ago, yes he was a good player but at 27 he had just started.
I just hate all of you that were there !!! JUST KIDDING. I live about two hours outside of Columbus and wanted to be there so bad. But, I have seen him several times. I always think about my hero,s getting older and is this the last time they will tour. Blessings to all those Eric fans out there, Melissa from Ohio 💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍❤🧡💛
Thank you for rendition of the U.K. National Anthem Eric! Maybe you will get that knighthood one day. Sir Eric Clapton Of Ripley - sounds quite good to me. Thanks again Slowhand!
Thank you for posting this! It was an absolutely amazing show and,.....on my birthday! We are so fortunate that Eric played for us. I saw someone wearing a T-Shirt that pretty much summed up the night, it said "ERIC IS GOD". He sure was a God that night. I was hoping they sold that shirt...but they didn't.
Back in the day it was written on a British Subway wall "Clapton Is God".. Bit of a stretch BUT God SURELY got EC through a lot of stuff 4 sure!! Perhaps that is HIS favorite guitarist..
I remember when Tina and Eric first put this tune out, ithought it was one of his best songs ever, they did it at the Princes Trust with a cast of other heavyweights!
The Covid Jab almost took him out and they tried hard to "cancel" him for talking about it... but Eric Clapton will not be kept down. Thank You for this video.
Music tours are linear, not circular. For instance, if a band plays Miami on Monday, Jax on Tuesday, Atlanta on Wednesday, Charlotte on Thursday, Richmond on Friday, Washington on Saturday, and Sunday is a day off for the show but the drivers often work. Weeks or months are spent routing tours before they start. I assume this tour is supporting an album or a collection of previous work. Unless something causes a show to be cancelled, they do not return to a city until the next tour. Transportation is expensive and backtracking can suck the profits out of a week or more shows. On Prince, AC/DC, and Motley Crue we had 12 full size tractor trailers and from 4 to 12 tour buses. I don't know what Clapton has out with him now, (because I retired to Thailand) but on big tours, transportation is the largest road crew on the tour.
No light show, no pyros, no special effects at all during the Columbus, OH show. Didn't need them and it felt very cozy....like playing back in the day at an ole neighborhood bar or something. It was absolutely amazing to see and hear him! 💯🎸🎤🎵🎶🙌❤
His name is Nathan East, he has been rocking at least since the late 70's or early 80's. I worked with him when he played with Kenny Loggins about 1983. The first reports coming out of Alpine Valley when Stevie Ray crashed were reporting Nathan was on the helicopter that crashed, but thankfully they were wrong.
His been his bass player for a while I don't know exactly how long and his drummer was Paul McCartney's drummer Abe? But he also had another drummer but I ain't good with names
Best concert ever. Another bucket list check. Eric's still got it. So happy to see him shock the shot. arena.

Thanks Eric for last 60 years listening your music
Eric and the band sound great!! And his voice is still top notch! I'm so glad he's still out there doing it!! 🎸🐦
Clapton's voice has only improved with time, his guitar playing remains at the top notch virtuoso level, looks like a great show!
Indeed Eric, God save the Queen. That was a nice tribute to her majesty.
Perfect!! He has survived it all and still plays like the genius he is.
Thank you Eric Clapton for coming to Detroit!!
Grandioso como siempre 👋✌️
"The Entertainer", Rockin the Blues...tanks for sharing
Eric's wardrobe is quintessentially from " Just One Night " ' .... Timeless like the virtuorso himself ..
Great singing an playing on this one. The best I’ve heard from Eric in a while.
Still my favorite at any age

Nathan East always looks so happy. He's been around for a while, I worked the 1983 Kenny Loggins tour with him. A brilliant human!
I was at this show last night as well! What a great night, Clapton was in top form and tore the venue apart

It's great to see Eric Clapton back out there again after a brief health moment.👍

Saw him last night at Madison Square Garden. What a treat to see on eof the greatest in the world.
