We are all faced with unforseen circumstances that could allow for our trust; innoncence; care; love and consideration to be taken advantaged of. This story here is a prime example of such. Amike could have went about his affairs better than how it was carried out. 10 years he courted Amaka; enough time to put something aside to pay her bride price. On top of that he continued to mind 2 grown ass men and handed them the key to destroy his progress and devour his hardship abroad. No wonder one of the brothers called him illiterate. If things were handled with much caution and open mindedness to the possiblities of negative unknowns; things would have turned out differently. Many lessons learnt on his behalf and for those that have gone through similar circimstances. One especially being; proper decision making.

This is a good story, about something I have seen happening in real life. I am from the Caribbean, people from there, come to the USA, work, and send their money back to their family members to save in banks or credit unions for them, or to build houses for them, only to find that they don’t have not even a penny to their names. A couple of them could not handle the fact that after working they had nothing, so they killed themselves, or their family members, or both. Poor Chike suffered the same fate, loosing both his wealth, and his woman. I am happy that though the law would not help him, because crooked policemen were paid off for their assistance.Chike went to the gods.who meted out vengeance on all who had wronged him. Me I would never send my money to my family to do anything for me.. know them too well. Good and enjoyable story. good story teller. Greetings from USA.

They really put him between a rock and a hard place. He tried to let the law do their job and they failed him, so went the other way. This is very sad because they are blood brothers. I really enjoyed the story until you start talking about revenge.
Sometimes you just have to let go and not seek revenge. He could have gone back to the land, to the fields he knew as a child. He could have started his life again.
Everything has to be paid for in this world, even if it doesn't seem like it.

This happened to me in Jamaica 😢. Sent the so-called fiance money and paid for her schooling only for her to screw a man I had problems with as kids growing up. When I finally saw her in Jamaica with her baby boy, she thought I'd be happy about it 😡. Indeed a very stupid individual.
