- In 2015, Rigby built a rifle the SCI World Heritage Rifle honoring hunting in Asia that its Managing Director, Marc Newton, called “the best .275 bolt rifle Rigby has ever made.” The gun realized $250,000 at auction during the 2016 Safari Club International convention and the funds will be used to support conservation efforts and hunting as a scientifically proven method of responsible wildlife management. The rifle, styled after a similar rifle owned by famed hunter Jim Corbett, commemorates Corbett’s ending the carnage of mankillers throughout Asia. This video shows just some of the attention to detail that went into making this exceptional rifle.
The calibre ".275 Rigby" is synonymous with Jim Corbett's name - and what he accomplished with it!! A legendary hunter, and the original rifle almost a sacred relic! This new rifle from Rigby magnificently honours both! 👍
WOW!!!! So glad to know there is still old world craftsmanship on this Earth...
I can't even find the right comment to say how much I adore this beautiful rifle.
a nice tribute to the greatest dangerous game hunter of all time.
The title should just be ‘making of a masterpiece’ we know its rigby but that’s just a masterpiece
That's a beautiful rifle
I like that the guy making it has a mohawk, a pierced ear and a huge goatee.
The commemorative rifle is very impressive. The wood is extraordinary. The engraving tells various stories.
But if only the original rifle could talk. The writings of Jim Corbett are a wonderful adventure for the mind, but the rifle was "there".
Congratulations to Rigby for the wonderful work they did. I saw the television show about the rifle; the journey to India, the reverence the Indian people have for the rifle and Jim Corbett. I was surprised to learn of the holiday for him.
Absolutely Beautiful Rifles.
Wonderful rifle to honor the great man hunter and nature caretaker he was .
Truly remarkable. A must have fire arms,if the opportunity offers.
Absolutely well made...
The wood on that thing is to die for. Amazing craftsmanship!
Simply magnificent rifle. A bit overdone for my taste but magnificent nonetheless. The Man Eaters of Kumaon is the first adult book I can remember reading as a young teenager and I was heartbroken when I left my old, dog-eared, copy in the seat pocket of an airliner on a flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg. I don't know how many times I read that book but in order to replace it, I had to order a copy from a publisher in India. For some reason, Amazon didn't have it. Go figure.
Anyway, that's a great tribute to a great hunter and a great rifle. Well done!
A beautiful presentation.
Breathtaking

A big salutu to john rigby i love this video it reminds the lejend jim corbet
Magnificent
Wow inspiring video !
Absolutely stunning craftsmanship on show in this video, truly a wonderful thing to see. Just out of interest which country has the best gunsmiths in fine firearms?
chronic craftsman Id say that England and Germany.
I would say the United States. Remember that the European gun makers have apprenticeship programs where here in the US we have gunsmith colleges but rarely do they concentrate on custom gun making. So, you have to give credit to the immense talent of our own custom gun makers because they must learn the craft pretty much on their own.
Even the engraving on the screws matches the engraving on the butt plate etc when they are tightened correctly.
They engrave the piece with the screw inserted.
Made from a legend.
I wish I was rich enough to have that
Amazing craftsmanship! I want one?
Rigby is now a part of the mauser company, :)
I just woke up from my wet dream.....time for a hunt. :)
Too beautiful I would be scared just to leave it in a case so I wouldn't ever think about bringing it to a hunt or even shooting it. I would way rater have one of their amazing 416.
I had no idea the Smith's at Rigby are so young.
By the craft of that rifle I would say they prefer skill over experience. That young man made a true piece of art
Wow nice .
Wow
How many rifiels make in one day in factory
Hand built, high end precision rifles like this are not measured in guns per day, more like guns per month. These are not massed produce factory rifles, they're pieces of art.
Peerless!!!.
Peerless craftsmanship
