The narrative vividly describes the chaotic raid on the Little Bohemia lodge by law enforcement under Melvin Purvis, showcasing a tense and dangerous confrontation filled with gunfights and dramatic escapes. Great rendition of a facinating story. It was like an old time radio play. It would make a great movie, Gary. Write a screenplay!

I never realized how much Purvis and Co. felt the time crunch, and how much that may have played into them appearing like trigger happy idiots.

Yes very interesting how they felt they had to hurry the raid. We need to remember to not judge this by modern standards. Today, they would have had Blackhawk helicopters filled with former military special forces operators who joined the FBI, plus, the HRT trains on scenarios like this. But, considering the actions at Waco and Ruby Ridge, you never know.

place is still open. my sister and bro in law have been there. wanatka and dillinger both used same guy for law services, louis piquette, so that's how dillinger knew about the place. wanatka lied when he said he didn't know dillinger.

I’m surprised that some of the infamous gangsters didn’t try to leave America 🇺🇸 for overseas or Mexico or Canada. They had money 💰 and knew people who could get them fake papers or passports. I always wondered why some didn’t.

We recorded a conversation our boss Nick Civella had about that subject. They even had a Mexican contact in California who would set him up with false name and papers. He didn’t do it in the end, but he was sure considering it.

@@GaryJenkinsMafiaDetective I think a lot of those old gangsters were creatures of habit. Going to Mexico would make them homesick for familiar surroundings family and friends.
